Since Aperture Update, certain keyboard short cuts don't work

I have a keyboard shortcut set-up for Curves Auto RGB which was working fine until the upgrade. Now, when I hit the key combo, it seems to be applying a Quick Fix Preset. Wrong!
I checked the assignment in my custom keyboard commands menu and it's correct. What's more, I don't have any key-combo set up for any Quick Fix Presets.
Not sure what's going on. If I try to create a different key combo for my curves shortcut, nothing seems to work. No matter what I try, it applies a Quick Fix Preset.
I wondered if anyone else was experiencing such a problem post-update.

Similar bug for me. My custom shortcuts for own presets are not working anymore:

• MacBook 10.5.8 keyboard short cuts don't work anymore

My MacBook 10.5.8 key board short cuts (specifically the copy and paste) no longer work. I already went into System Pref and restored the defaults, but that didn't work. How can I fix this issue?

I also tried rechecking Unicode Hex Input and the keyboard shortcuts still worked. So it looks like you need to have U.S. Extended checked to support keyboard shortcuts for things like – (mdash) and — (ndash).
I don't think that should be necessary. Either US or US Extended should work fine on its own.
In system prefs/language & text/input sources, check the box for Show Input Menu in Finder. That way you will know for sure what keyboard is active via the "flag" menu at the top right. Accidentally switching to Unicode Hex (which can be done via a keyboard shortcut) will disable your Option key for special characters (which is why I asked you to make sure only US was checked).

• Keyboard Short Cuts Don't Work

Hi, since I have had Windows 7 installed, my short cut keys don't work. For example: zoom in and out with ctrl/shift/spacebar, ctrl click an object twice to select the object below it; selecting an image and ctrl/shift dragging the corner doesn't scale the image, crtl / doesn't show or hide document grid, etc.
What can I do.
Barb

Hi,
IT created a new user account, unfortunately, it didn't work. Before changing to a new user account, the problems seem to be getting worse. When typing characters, I got all types of short cuts, drop down menus, etc instead of words. At one point, the arrow keys didn't work to move a object/photo. I couldn't crop a photo, scrolling my mouse up and down only moved the page side to side. Selection tool didn't work, or selected frame underneath. Selecting a page from a 4 page document doesn't take me to the page I selected, zooming in and zooming out works opposite each other.
When I was given a new user account, the issues started developing within 15 - 20 minutes.
Confused

• Keyboard short codes don't work anymore on Yosemite

I have added short codes via Preferences | Keyboard | Short codes on Iphone, Ipad and on Mac mini, but most times they don't work. But here is no regular base when this bug appears. Mostly on OS X where the short codes don't work most times, on Iphone and iPad just on

Thank you for your answer; but it doesn't help. they exactly describe what I do : My daughter's web parental controls are set on "Allow access to only these websites" and there are many cases where it works. For example, many ads that use another domain that the actuel domain's page are blocked and Safari ask the administrator to add the domain.
But if I type the domain in the search/URL bar, I can access to the site. links between sites seems to be allowed too. She has access to flash-games sites I didn't allow.
Example: I set only "disney.fr" and "apple.fr" in the white list of the parental control. If I my daughter write "http://www.cnn.com" in the safari's bar she can access on the website of CNN.
I'm pretty sure this was OK before. I notice this since a few days. Maybe since the 10.10.3 update ?
I also know she has moved "Favorites sites" into subfolders (she can't read, she clicked anywhere with the mouse...); it may also be related ?

• Special character short cuts don't work anymore

I have no clue what happened, what I may have done, or if something was installed that made the change, but short cut keystrokes don't work anymore for creating special characters (e.g. "option - (dash) and option shift - (dash) to create an mdash and ndash respectively). I've tried restoring defaults under keyboard shortcuts (sys pref > keyboard) and have Full Keyboard Access set to all controls, but nothing's changed.
I've also scoured Google for the past half hour and have not been able to find anything. Any clues as to what's going on?

• Short cuts don't work anymore

BTW: since the upgrade, in the morning when i start the browser I get a "oops" message telling me the browser had crashed.

Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
Thank you.
Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.

• The Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down keyboard short cuts don't seem to work anymore. Can we get this back?

Until the latest update (I'm guessing v 34.x), the search bar's icon would show you the currently selected default search engine. I understand that Google is no longer paying to be the default... That I was expecting and isn't my issue....
I used to be able to use Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down to change the default search engine (maybe default isn't the right term... but it changed what was used when I hit <Enter> or <Alt+Enter>). Now, there's no support for this as far as I can tell.
This shortcut page (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly) still references it, but it doesn't seem to work.
As a sort of side note: Where typically, middle clicking on anything opens stuff up in a new tab, that behavior does not seem to carry over when clicking one of the non-default options in the search context menu. I've always appreciated that Firefox was very consistent about respecting the middle click as "do this in a new tab" what seems EVERYWHERE.

If you start typing a search term then a drop-down list opens.
You can use the Tab key to select other search engines that show on the bottom bar.
If you want to restore the previously used standalone window to manage search engines then you can toggle this pref to false with a middle-click on the about:config page.
*about:config page: browser.search.showOneOffButtons = false
You need to close and restart Firefox to make this work properly.

• Why do keyboard short cuts no longer work with ios6?

I use Keyboard Shortcuts very often.. Well, I did use them often with iOS5...
How is it that with iOS6, it comes with omw = on my way preprogrammed but auto correct assumes you're trying to spell "one."
This issue along with the Maps debacle is very frustrating to deal with. Is this the start of the downfall of Apple? It seems like a small detail but if a small issue like this is overlooked, what else will be forgotten about?

Further to the above point. ALL of my previously used shortcuts are no longer working.

• Hi yesterday i downloaded a software from i tunes for keyboard short cut and i don't know how to use them and install them, how to use keyboard shorts bought from i tunes

hi yesterday i downloaded a software from i tunes for keyboard short cut and i don't know how to use them and install them, how to use keyboard shorts bought from i tunes

You can install it on your iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) either by redownloading it directly on the device via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it, or by connecting the device to your computer's iTunes and syncing it to it.
Syncing apps from a Mac : iTunes 11 for Mac: Sync and organize iOS apps
from a PC : iTunes 11 for Windows: Sync and organize iOS apps
As to how to then use the app, if the description on the app's description page in the store doesn't describe how to use it in enough detail, then is there a link to the developer's website on its description page, and does that have details ?

• Keyboard short-cut for Restart and Shutdown?

Since recent keyboards and Mac OS X doesnt have keyboard short-cuts for Shutdown and Restart, is it possible to create new ones for these functions?
Also, why doesnt Mac OS X have these anymore (such as when it had the keyboard with that button you hit to bring up dialog box to shutdown, restart, etc).. that's what I'm looking for...
As for the reason I want this.. sometimes my display goes blank and I can't see anything and hence since you cant see the screen to mouse over to restart, etc... if I could hit a keyboard combo to bring up the restart dialog box and I then hit Enter, it would execute that action...

• Keyboard short cut problems

I updated my Mac and everything was fine until i had to restart it. My Photoshop's keyboard short cut became all random like this:
I tried restarting my computer again but it has not changes. The most weird part is that when i tried to change the short-cuts, it won't work even though i clicked on accept and "ok". Is there a way i can turn this back? It wasn't like this when i first got this back at November.

quote from:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/23471905#23471905
1) While in Photoshop, go to 'Keyboard Shortcuts' under the 'Edit' menu in the Mac's menu bar. The 'Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus' panel opens.
2) With the 'Keyboard Shortcuts' tab selected (as opposed to 'Menus'), double-click 'File' (has a triangle next to it) under the 'Application Menu Command' and select/highlight the 'Open...' command.
3) Without editing the key shortcut in any way, click the 'Accept' button to the right. Then 'Okay' to close the panel. This successfully reinstates the 'Open' keyboard shortcut.
4) At this point, you're probably thinking, 'My god, I'm going to have to repeat this process for every single keyboard shortcut...'. But no, simply 'accepting' the 'Open' command appears to successfully reinstate every other keyboard shortcut too!

• Cannot delete keyboard short cuts?!?

The problem is I have a ipad, iPhone, and imac. All in sync. So if I delete one it just repopulates from the other devices. I even sat there and deleted the shortcuts on all three at the same time. Didn't work. The problem is there is a major bug in ios8 that when certain shortcuts auto populate in the text field of a web page form it completely freezes safari and it's dead untill I restart safari. So until they figure this out and fix it I need to remove the keyboard short cuts ASAP.

Actually I said "keyboard" . I meant "text" shortcuts. FYI when you type it auto inputs the full phrase. Can a mod edit the topic heading please?

• Keyboard Short cuts missing

I recently installed CS4 Production Premium on a new computer runing Vista 64 Home Edition. When I call up Premiere the program seems to run alright but I have no Keyboard Short cuts.

First as some one new to the forums I’d like say how impressed I am with how quickly people responded to my question. Thank you.
There were two recommendations, one to reinstall PP and the other suggested this wouldn’t work and said I would have to uninstall CS4 and than install fresh. In the interest of science I decided I would try to do a reinstall first, if that didn’t work, I could always do a complete uninstall/install later.
In brief the reinstall seems to have worked and successfully restored key board short cuts.
For those interested in the details.
The first reinstall produced a BSD, followed by a reboot that ended with operating system not found.
Second attempt to reinstall seems successful
During the reinstall that disc progress report jumped to disk 3 although I hadn’t changed discs.
After 13 minutes the install program asked for disc 2
Disc progress lists disc 4 of 5
Overall progress 79%
11 minutes later installer asks for disc 3
Disc progress reports disc 5 of 5
Over all progress 95%
8 minutes later list of successfully installed components.
I mention the times because the total time to reinstall PP was 32 minutes. This seems like a long time. Perhaps this is normal and indicative of nothing.
I don't know if the discrepancy between the disc label and the intall progress report is of any significance.
If it is important I am working on a Prostar laptop with an i7 2.93 GHz CPU and 6 Gbs Ram. Vista home 64 bit.
Thanks again.

• Keyboard short cuts functionality problems in MSS

Hi,
We have discovered that the keyboard short cuts does not function in the Portal (Manager Self Service) when setting up SAP R/3 transactions Iviews. I.e. in R/3 its possible to use "Ctrlshiftarrow-down" to select multiple entries in an table (program: approval of time recordings in cats). After having implemented the transaction iview we don't have this functionality anymore. Does anyone know what functions?
Regards Jeppe Jensen

Just to clarify - you want keyboard shortcuts to the menu?
If so, I'm assuming you have JMenus containing JMenuItems - using the method
JMenuItem.setMnemonic(char c);will enable a shortcut.
Example:
JMenuItem menuItem = new JMenuItem("this is a menu item");
menuItem.setMnemonic('t');This will set the shortcut to be 't'.

• Keyboard short cut not working in iOS 6 on iPhone

I just tried adding a new keyboard short cut on my iPhone 4S with iOS 6 and the short cut will not stay on the phone. I can enter it and it is added to the list of short cuts until I go back one screen, then the shor cut disappears. This worked fine under iOS 5 and still works fine on my iOS5 iPod Touch. Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks
Fred

I have an iPhone 4 with current iOS.
I've noticed this over the past few months. I always notice it on the FB app. My short cuts stop working. I will check email or note. I figured restarting the phone would fix it.
Here's the thing. Obviously I use FB a lot, but this short cut issues never happens in text messages, Whatsapp, or email. Always with FB.
In fact I noticed that I get sluggish typing performance typing using the FB app whether I use the keyboard short cuts or not.
Just wondering if this common among iPhone 4 users.
