Should i unsitall old version without problem?

you can (but are not required to) uninstall your cc versions.  the cc 2014 versions do not require the cc versions to be installed, but there are no problems if both cc and cc 2014 are installed.
so, it's your choice.  but there are features/capabilities in some cc programs that did were not added to the cc 2014 programs so i'd recommend leaving both for a few months.  if you find you have no need for the cc versions, you can uninstall them then.

  • Should I uninstall old OS

Should I uninstall classic and or jaguar to free up space? If so how do I remove or uninstall?

What is the hard drive capacity and available free space on the Mac you want to install Tiger?
If you have no need for OS 9 and the Classic environment which will include any OS 9 applications, do the following to remove OS 9 and all OS 9 applications.
Open the folder named 'System Folder' (not the folder named 'System') and dump everything inside the System Folder into the trash and then empty the trash. Then delete the empty System Folder. Drag the folder named Applications (Mac OS 9) to the trash. Empty the trash and OS 9/Classic is gone.
If you have limited free hard drive space, this may not be enough.
If you have at least 3GB of free hard drive space (at least 5 - 10GB is better depending on how you install.
The Simple Upgrade method will require the least and the Archive & Install method (selecting preserve user and network settings) will require the most but either method will not require re-installing all of your existing applications.

  • Downloaded Photoshop 11 on Mac - cannot open it, should I uninstall/reinstall - Help!

I downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements about 6 months ago.  I think I messed up from the beginning - perhaps I saved something in the wrong place.  I tried making a shortcut on my desktop, but it didn't work somehow, so I've been going through the Organizer to open the Editer because whenever I click on the shortcut I get this error message:  "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application."
Today I was fiddling around with things on my computer and tried to make a shortcut again by finding the "Adobe" file in Finder and dragging it on the desktop.  That didn't work....it disappeared from Finder and I cannot open the Editer from the Organizer anymore - needless to say the shortcut I tried to make didn't work.  I keep getting the same error message.  So, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I would really like some opinions.  Should I uninstall it completely and reinstall it?  Can I since I downloaded it off the site?
    Please help!
    Thanks!!

    Hi cosmicstarfish,
It seems the install was not proper. Please uninstal the existing version, download the software again and reinstall.
You can try downloading it from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-11-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

  • Should I uninstall previous versions of Firefox?

Should I uninstall previous versions of Firefox? I found 4 versions of Firefox in my control panel/programs & features. The latest version is 5.0.

Quite honestly, unless you installed Firefox into a different Program Files folder yourself every time you installed a new version of Firefox, I doubt if those older versions are still installed. Don't '''Remove''' anything until you can verify that the older versions are in fact still there, by "touring" the Program Files set of folder thru the Windows Explorer file interface ''(not to be confused with the Internet Explorer web browser)''.
When Firefox is updated, it installs the new version in the folder where the old version was. And, the Firefox installer uses the same folder all the time, except for the 4.0 beta versions and when the user does a '''"Custom"''' installation & selects a different folder than normal for Firefox.

  • After installing latest Updater should I uninstall previous version?

    Hi,
I have just installed Updater IPod 2006-01-10. Should I now delete/uninstall the folder that has the previous version of Updater in it? I think I know the answer but would like some reassurance before I delete anything!
    Thanks,
    Barry Brotherton

Once you have installed the software on your iPod it isn't necessary to keep the updater installer stored on your computer.
However, wise heads around these parts keep at least one version that is known to work in case any newer version you may install on the iPod in the future contains bugs and causes problems. Read some of the posts on this and other iPod forums to see how some folks have wished they'd never updated the software on their iPods but can't roll back a version because they've deleted any others they may have had stored on their computer.
Apple don't keep older software updaters available for download, and they are very often difficult to find online. If you are worried about them taking up storage space, why not save them to a CD?
You just never know when, or if, you may need one.

Firefox can't open normally without going through the "this is embarrassing" routine; nor does it close down properly; I get the "end program" message and have to say "end now"it also sticks frequently, i.e. screen freezes for a minute or more; should I uninstall and re-install to try and debug?
    - I've used Firefox exclusively for around 2 years.
    - My outlook express has no problems
    - other programs seem unaffected; it seems peculiar to Firefox.
    - my main use is surfing the net, primarily entering competitions on line via specialist competition sites.
    - every day at some stage(s) I have to switch computer off as Firefox has got very slow/sticky/freezes.
I'm not techy by any means, but I can only thing of un- and re-installing to hopefully start with a clean slate.

Sounds like something is keeping Firefox from closing properly. See this: <br />

  • ITunes won't open. it says "Error 7 iTunes was not installed correctly" I know I did though. Now what? Should I uninstall? I don't want to loose my music!

I have the latest version of iTunes and when I went to go open it, it can't! It says: "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.Error 7 (Windows error 126)"  What do I do now? Should I uninstall and try installing it again? I don't want to loose any of my music and info. PLEASE HELP!

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

How can I install Creative Cloud on a new computer? Should I uninstall the old computer?

    Hi Bussada,
No, you dont have to uninstall Creative cloud from the other machine. You can use your Adobe ID to download and install the software on the other machine. Please ensure that you don't use both machine at the same time.
Download creative cloud desktop app from this link.

I can see my thumbnails for my events in iphoto, but when I click to open the folder, no photos show up. However, when I hover over the thumbnail, it shows the flicker of images
that should be inside the folder, as well as # of images in each folder. It also occasionally says the following when I try to even open iphoto:  "Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process for very large libraries may take an hour or more to complete." So, I am scared to hit "upgrade" for fear I will never recover any of the images as the wording in this quote seems odd. The photos are not in the trash. Did I lose them all? Do you know if/how I can retrieve them?

    iPhoto 08?
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Did you see a "Bookmark" tab in your Menu Bar? All of your IE Favorites should be there if you pull it down.
FYI, It's called Bookmarks in Firefox.

You would only save about 500MB by deleting MS 2.1.3. You may find it useful to keep the application, or perhaps to make a zip and then delete the original
