Since Firefox 12.0 I am missing tabs in Joomla admin interface

I am using Joomla Admin Interface to upload products to my site, but since recently (I assume its since my last firefox update from 11.0 to 12.0, I am missing some tabs on Joomla Add Product [http://i.imgur.com/HiVMJ.jpg see picture]
In the blueish area surrounded by the black border, I used to have options in tabs in until previous Firefox version; Add image, Add Weight etc, at least 6 or 7 tabs.
While it still Works in Internet Explorer
I tried to clear the cache/cookies and update Java
Using Win 7 Enterprise 64bit
Thanks.

Using a new profile may give different results from merely disabling a plugin. Sometimes even using a new profile is not sufficient with regards to plugins and they need to be totally installed.
I have no particular reason to suspect it is the problem in your case but for instance security or even ad-block software can cause problems, and they are the sort of applications that sometimes may need uninstalling to prevent their operation.
It would be interesting to hear what the Joomla site says.
It would also be interesting to see if the problem does occur in only specific versions of Firefox (try in [[safe mode]] and maybe consider trials with Nightly).

  • Firefox will not open any new tabs since windows update

I have windows 7 64, and recently, when windows automatically updated, my firefox will not open any new tabs, manually or when opening a link...

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

  • Dozens of open tabs lost! Synced them, reinstalled Windows and Firefox, set up Sync, looked up "tabs on other devices" in history - Only a third or so listed.

Dozens of open tabs lost! Synced them, reinstalled Windows and Firefox, set up Sync, looked up "tabs on other devices" in history -> Only a third or so listed.
Usually, when I reinstall Windows, I manually backup my Firefox bookmarks and open tabs, but because Sync has worked perfectly for me in the past, I didn't do it this time. I backed up all my other files and settings and whatnot from the rest of my system, then in Firefox I hit the Sync button (put in on the GUI so I see if it's syncing or done) for the last time, waited until the green rotating dot was gone, closed Firefox, shut down the system, formatted the drive and reinstalled Windows and Firefox. After setting up Sync I waited a while to make sure everything is on my system.
Then I wanted to have all the tabs and windows open as I had on the old system, so I went to the history and "tabs on other devices". I could already see from the small size of the list, that tabs were missing. I went through all of them, opened them and sorted them into windows.
-> Maybe about two thirds of the tabs I had open on my old system are gone!
Not just new tabs that might not have been synced (although the button showed sync was complete), but also old tabs (from weeks ago) that must have been synced before. Actually maybe especially or even only the old ones are lost. And the lost tabs are not just from one of the open windows, but from several.
What can I do to recover my lost tabs?
They contain important websites that I didn't bookmark yet, articles that I wanted to read, windows with dozens of tabs on a topic that I did some research for and stuff like that.
What does the green circle mean? Does it indicate that the sync is complete (to the Firefox servers) or just that the changes have been saved locally and set up for some next scheduled sync with the Firefox servers?
    Further info:
I always run the newest stable release of Firefox (v19 on both systems). Old system was Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation, new system is Windows 8 Pro. My used Sync quota is about 10 MB. I had 4 Firefox windows open with different amount of tabs in each of them, from 10 to maybe 80 with an overall amount of 150-200. Most of them weren't loaded. Firefox start is set to "load last session" and tabs are set to "load when selected". Memory usage 500 MB - 1 GB.

I have most of the items bookmarked. Having 200 - 300 tabs open saves time, since I don't have to go to the bookmarks, if the tabs are already open. One problem has been crashes, but as long as I can restore a previous session, I can still get to the data. I had quite a few tabs open when I was planning to purchase a new computer. I also follow the stock market, and the weather. I was also looking at various VIrtual Private Networking (VPN) sites. At one time, I probably had 20 - 50 tabs open, just for those. I did bookmark a few, but unfortunately lost the VPN tabs, when Firefox crashed. Even if I don`t go to a particular group of tabs very often, leaving it open is faster, especially since I will know where they are. I often put the computer in standby mode, rather than shutting it off, especially if I will remain in the same location.

  • Firefox 17 crashes when automation testing is run. But works properly in Firefox 10. It opens many tabs while running and it crosses 50.

    Hi,
When we run automation testing of our product, it works well in firefox old versions and IE. But when we run it in firefox 17 it crashes. We noticed that in firefox 10, each task in automation was opened in new windows and ran smoothly. But in firefox 17, each task opens in new tab and the number of tabs opened crosses 50 and finally crashes. We tried with various troubleshooting methods discussed in your blog. But no help.
What is the change in firefox 17 that it makes each task opened in new tabs?
Or what is the setting we need to set so that each task opens in new window?
We have hundreds of test cases.
This bug is a blocker for certification of firefox 17 for our product.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Firefox 4 won't remember my tabs open when I have to close and reopen

Since downloading Firefox 4 I have run into several issues. I uninstalled Firefox 4 and cleaned up my folders and files that were left behind and I also defragmented my registry. Then I reinstalled Firefox 4 from Cnet.com, but still having all these problems.
    1. I have tried the solutions but none of them work. I really want to be able to return to my websites/tabs that were open in Firefox before I had to close it.
    2. Also, I want to know if I need to keep all the "on file" Certificate Authorities that came with Firefox 4? What will happen if I delete them all? I have been receiving a ton of Porn Spam in my email account from many different people and I think something is set up so that these sites can get past security measures.
    3. And there is even more.... When I choose to download a file, the download window opens and the file begins to download. However, once the download has finished the scan for viruses, it disappears before I can click on it to install it.
I am running extensions 1. java console 2. open profile folder-which I still have not figured out how to open the profile with this extension..... Could use some help there too.
So as you can see I need HELP PLEASE. I tried to do a live chat with Firefox Live Chat, but I never got routed to a professional to help me. grrrrrrr
Please any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Angela

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.<br />
    Another possibility is to use:
    * [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox (Tools) > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox.

  • Blue Screen in Firefox 6 (same problem since Firefox 4!)

Don't know why this is happening at all, and it's been happening since Firefox 4, I submitted a problem then, too, and got zero help, but hey, maybe this time, right?
There is nothing special going on when I get the Blue Screen. This one occurred when Firefox was the only program running, I had about 6 tabs up (nothing major, I've had 20+ open without problems before version 4 came along). Basically, I'll be happily surfing away, I'll go to click on a different tab and my PC will freeze and I'll get the Blue Screen. The error message in the BSoD says something like "attempt to reset the display adapter has failed"...same problem I had with FF4.
Since the crash happens before Firefox can recognize it, I have no Firefox generated crash report (it's Blue Screened before it can create one, I guess) but I DO have the windows "there was a problem shutting down dialog" pasted here:
    Problem signature:

Any help would be superb. I'm just decided to give Firefox another chance when I heard 6 rolled out, since I completely skipped over 5 due to the problems I had with 4 I figured maybe they'd fixed the problem. Guess not. Until then, viva la Google Chrome, I guess. I'd prefer Firefox, but it doesn't seem like they want me using their product...
(Oh, before someone recommends I disable Flash like they did last time I submitted this problem, it doesn't matter. I get the blue screen whether the Flash plugin is turned on or not...so it's not "ATI's problem with Flash", before someone gives me THAT reason again...)

Sorry about the crash, and thanks for reporting it. This crash looks like it might be related to hardware-accelerated graphics. Try opening the "Advanced" section of the Firefox options window, and turn off the "Use hardware acceleration" option (under "Browsing" on the General tab). Then please let us know if you still have any problems.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing a tab in my icon editor...

Furthermore I can't synchronize with the NI icon library.
The problems occured today for the first time. After I tried to synchronize with the NI icon library... So I guess it must be kind of related...
    Any thoughts?
Just to be clear... I don't have any debug info since the icon editor does not give me any

  • Federated portal network - missing tab on consumer role

    Hi,
We're on EP 7.01, SP4, and on two occantions we've had problems with missing tabs on a consumer role in our federated portal network setup. An entire workset on both occations is missing from the RDL-shared role. In the two cases the problem has been observed on different roles with two different worksets. When analyzing the RDL-shared roles, the producer role is fine but the consumer role is simply missing the attached workset. If the role is copied to the consumer again, the workset is still missing.
A full synchronization solves the problem.
The RDL-mechanism has been running fine for over half a year, so its quit odd that we now experience this issue.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
    Kind regards,
    Rasmus

    Hi Rasmus,
Is your consumer portal required High Availability?  A scheduled re-bounce of the instance should help (weekly, monthly, etc.) as a preventive measure.  Maybe you can observe to see how long does it take before the problem comes back (after a full cache refreshed) and then schedule your re-bounce accordingly.  As much as we try to do our best, "things" happen
Or, you can adjust your cache settings (e.g. reduce the maxValidityPeriodInSecond property) to avoid the problem.

According to the following link, the cache stores only semantic objects (iViews, pages, layouts and roles); since worksets are not semantic objects, could that be why?!

  • Firefox opens links in currently open tab, even when in other application (aka: FireFox doesnt open link in new tab)

Firefox opens every link from external applications (for example Windows Live Messenger) in the tab which was last open/is currently open.
    This is extremely annoying.
I quadrupple checked the settings, but cant find anything.
    Please help
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Since the beginning

The setting in "Tools > Options > Tabs" only works for links that would open in a new window.<br />
That option allow you to divert such calls to a new tab.<br />
For other links you either have to use a middle click or a Ctrl + left click or use the context menu.

  • Yahoo Messenger doesn't work in Yahoo Mail since Firefox's newest update

I have some friends on Yahoo Messenger via Yahoo Mail. If they have the newest version of messenger, since Firefox's most recent update I can't chat with them in a window or tab. Sometimes when I click their name to chat nothing comes up. Other times two tabs open up. The one continues to try to load. The second one looks normal but won't let me chat with them. Please help.

Already asked a ton of times, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=713014 (regression in FF9, use FF10 beta if you want)

Since the ISO8 update I am missing all of my notes from 1/2013 until 6/4014.  They are not in the email account either.  Can these be restored?

On WinXP Back, Forward, and Home was last in the Firefox 3.6 versions and disappeared as of Firefox 4.0 - and hasn't been seen since.
Doesn't the Mac OSX versions of Firefox have Back and Forward in the context menu (right-click), as Windows and Linux versions do?

  • Why won't my "searchpreview" add-on work from my browser search box since Firefox updated to 3.6.16, but it works when I do it from the Google main page??

Since Firefox updated itself to 3.6.16 earlier today, when I search for anything in my Google search box on the browser, it always used to show me thumbnails when the Google page came up. Now there are no thumbnails appearing, except if I go on the Google main page and search from there, the thumbnails still appear. Whe it updated, the browser automatically searched for incompatability problems with my add-ons but nothing appeared to say Searchpreview was incompatible.

  • I've noticed that in the new version of Firefox that you cannot save multiple tabs at one time like the previous Firefox 3.6.or so and I wanted to know if I can find that feature again?

I've noticed that in the new version of Firefox that you cannot save multiple tabs at one time like the previous Firefox 3.6.or so and I wanted to know if I can find that feature again?
In the previous versions of Firefox when you went to you Bookmarks menu it gave you the options to either Bookmark This Page 'command' + 'D', Subscribe to this Page, Bookmark All Tabs 'up-arrow-key' + 'command' + 'D', and Organize Bookmarks 'up-arrow-key' + 'command' + 'B' however in the newest version of Firefox there is no Bookmark All Tabs so you can bookmark all the tabs that you have up in one window at a time. So I need to know if it is possible that the feature is now in a different place, is gone altogether, or if you can get that feature another way?
For me personally and my work I go through hundreds of web pages a day and save around half of those so it is imperative that I be able to bookmark more then one tab at a time because I can't be bothered to bookmark every single page separately and then go through hundreds of tabs in my Unsorted bookmarks in order to sort those bookmarks. It is simple inconvenient to sort every bookmark individually that is why the previous version of Firefox with the Bookmark All Tabs button was superior in its convenience.

Right click any tab and choose "Bookmark All Tabs".

  • HELP!! Can's type in Firefox UNLESS I open another internet tab, then go back to the first tab.

HELP!! Can's type in Firefox UNLESS I open another internet tab, then go back to the first tab! All of the sudden, out of the blue, I hear the little "beep" noise that Mac's make when, for example, you try to close a program without saving an item first. It will "beep" to make you aware that you have an unsaved document. Now, without changing anything on my computer or Firefox, I get thet "beep" when I go to Firefox and try to type in a search box, etc. The only way I can type is if I open a new tab in firefox, then go back to the first tab. Only then will I be able to type. If I use my mouse and click on another box to type on, or try to go back and edit text I have already trped using the mouse to jump to a different portion of my text, I will hear the same "beep" until I (once again) click on another tab, then return to the first tab. It is very annoying as I have to constatnly click on another tab then return so that I can type or edit any thing. I had to do this several times while editing this very paragraph!! I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. Nothing changed...
    Any help????
    Thanks in advance!

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?
