Since Firefox 6.0 copying images, by either Win 7 fxn or by screen capture fxn's, no longer works

-- At least, this is the way it seems... a letter I wrote first to the VMN Toobox staff (and to Firefox)...
Hi VMN Staff/Inventor – and Hi to my favorite browser’s staff at Firefox,
I must say that I really love your Screen Capture fxn for the VMN Toobox 4.25! I use it ALL of the time! Hopefully, I have sent you some money already. Tonight however something is really wrong! When I fired up the computer this afternoon and, as usual, was doing research for my office, some webpage logos wouldn't copy, so as usual I dropped down the VMN Toolbox selections, selected Screen Capture and arranged the capture bars over the image, got the yellow flash-across the selected area and pasted the picture in to the document. I looked and looked, reshot the image several times but unbelievably … THE SCREEN CAPTURE IMAGE on the document WAS BLANK!
This NEVER occurred before. And, even after restarting the computer it still did not work.
Then I happened to be in a document where VMN screen capture images had been added - they were ALL blank! Checking other documents - all screenshot images in all documents are blank, totally whited out, with the black lines of where the images used to be right there, emphasizing that something is gone. Like a painting stolen from a museum wall and the photon shadow is all that remains.
I had not used Awesome Screenshot for quite a while, but there it was up on my toolbar - tried that - same damn thing! What's going on? I am pretty certain I let Mozilla FireFox go ahead and update from v5.x to v6.0 as soon as I signed on, and several add-ons were suddenly "no longer compatible," but as far as I can tell your software doesn't rely on any plug-ins. The Awesome Screenshot extension add-on for Firefox was still enabled, yet it did not work.
Further troubleshooting - as I was at my desktop on the network in the office, I then fired up my laptop. This time I DID NOT allow Mozilla Firefox to update from v5.x to 6.0. The VMN toolbox screenshot worked fine! Uh, oh Firefox…?
So, I will be sending this message to Firefox also - I detest Microsoft, only use their software at all only because I HAVE to, I almost never use IE v8.x or 9.x or wherever it is now - but can your people at VMN (and y'all at Firefox) explain how the only browser I use, Firefox, could possibly reach in to my documents file and cause the screenshots downloaded to the clipboard, then to documents, to suddenly no longer be able to be seen? Is this even possible?
Lastly, maybe you know something about this - is there any way to actually "see" the clipboard - what's on it at any given time? I cannot find any way to access either file names or images existing on the clipboard no matter how much is on it, or what program I'm using. (An IT level/web developer person I am not, just a physician.)
I have Windows 7 Professional on my desktop, 4GB RAM, the network/server can only use a 32-bit system type, and everything is highly maintenanced by myself and our IT team, so absolutely everything else is fine. On my laptop I have a Windows 7 Home Premium OS installed and working fine on a brand new HP Pavilion g4 Notebook PC w/ 4GB RAM, 64-bit system type.
Any time to send me any ideas? Thanks. And you too, Firefox - what's going on?
Thank you very much,

  • Since the capture media is no longer working for capturing Windows 8.1 images,

Since Copy Profile doesn't work when you use the sccm capture media to capture a Windows 8.1 image
This is how I been capturing my Windows 8.1 image.
    1. Manually sealing the image. Logged in as Administrator, I run, C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\sysprep.exe /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:"C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\sysprep64-81-std.xml" this points to my answer file which contains copy
profile=true. Once Windows is shutdown, I boot directly to PXE, using a TS of the method found in the link below.
    2. I then use this method to capture the image directly to a wim file. http://blog.coretech.dk/mip/capture-none-syspreped-image-using-sccm-running-imagex-from-a-ts/
I'd like to hear how others are capturing there Windows 8.1 images, because I am always looking for a better method.

  • After a few downloads, using "Save image as..." causes Firefox to download the image again even though its already on the screen.

You would think that having downloaded an image and displayed it on the screen, Firefox would be able to save the image to disk (using right-click, "Save image as...") without need of downloading it all over again. But that's exactly what it does after just a few image saves.
This can be both expensive and time consuming when I happen to be working via a mobile or dial-up connection, which is often.
    Any ideas?

As an addendum, the 10.6.8 OS has also been sluggish when I log in or out of my computer (my old PowerBook G4 boots faster after being off).  Otherwise, everything else seems normal.

  • Since updating my phone to the new iOS 7 latest update my rear camera only shows a black screen and my touch no longer works?

does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried the restarting my phone and closing down the camera app but it still doesn't work

    Hi MLucas22,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  I would recommend this article for troubleshooting your touchscreen:

Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.
    Cheers,
    - Ari

  • Safari cant copy images

I went to amazon.com and tried to copy some of the images for the Zire 72 and paste it into an email message, but everytime it copied the image address. I set it to copy the image, and not the image address, but when I pasted into the email body, I saw the address. And no I do not currently and never plan to use Apple mail.
I had the same problem with FireFox(which cant copy images to the clipboard anyways). To fix the problem I had to use classic Internet explorer. What a hassle.
    John

    Hi John!
I'm not sure which images you are trying to C & P from Amazon.com, but, using Safari, I was able to copy the image found HERE, and paste it into an AOL eMail document. It was then successfully sent, and when opened, the image appeared in the body of the mail.
Maybe I'm not quite understanding what you're trying to do.
Position the cursor on the image.
Press the "Control" key and hold the mouse down.
    Select "Copy Image to Clipboard".
Open a new AOL eMail document.
Click in the message area of the document.
Select "Paste" from the "Edit" menu, or "Command Key + V Key.
Your will be presented with a resizing option. Click Yes or No.
    Address your eMail and send!
    Good Luck!

  • PgUp/PgDn no longer work after upgrading to Firefox 4

I just upgraded from Firefox 3.6 to 4.0., and now the PgUp/PgDn keys (page up/page down) no longer work. Or rather, they act as though caret browsing (F7) is turned on, which it is not. (In caret browsing, PgUp is like the back button and PgDn is like the forward button.) To confirm that caret browsing is off, I've hit F7 and clicked No (multiple times), and also checked about:config, which shows that accessibility.browsewithcaret is false.
More info: (1) Options > Advanced > General > Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages is unchecked, (2) the PgUp/PgDn keys also don't work when Firefox is restarted in Safe Mode, (3) they don't work on any webpage, (4) they do work correctly in other applications (Microsoft Word, etc.), (5) my operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), and (6) I run Microsoft Security Essentials (antivirus software).
    Any ideas?
Could this be a bug? If so, what is the procedure for uninstalling Firefox 4 and returning to Firefox 3.6 -- without losing my bookmarks, add-ons, etc.?
    Thanks!

dmtf2010 nailed the problem here (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=640587#c48):
    So, the solution is:
    1. Go to about:config
    2. Find ui.elantech_gesture_hacks.enabled
    3. Change its value from -1 to 0
    4. Restart FF
    5. If you run into a bug that option was designed to fix (non-working page swipe gestures), install the latest Elantech driver (http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/14513/) and reboot.
I've tried his solution and, so far, so good. :)

  • New "Save image" function (not the 2-button screen capture, different)

I found this while playing w/ Safari on my iPhone. I went to Flickr, saw a picture that a friend uploaded, and had my finger on it a bit too long- a dialog popped up that said "Save image" or "Cancel"- so, I hit save image, and the big (1024 x 685, 197 KB) was placed into my Camera Roll file.
Does the same thing on any website- you can open a large image, and download it, not just a small screen capture.
Makes really nice wallpaper. Sorry if this has been around awhile, I just happened to find it

This was added with 2.0 software

I am tryin to copy image form ZABBIX to Word document. Everything was fine before update and now I am having a problem

More generally, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these:
While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • Since Firefox 4, I can get a background image to work using base64 encoded, but not a local file, this worked in Firefox 3, how do I resolve this.

Using either of the 4 examples shown below, to have a background image display inside about:blank worked in Firefox 3.x (using Stylish add-on), however since Firefox 4, only using the base64 encoded version of images works. Is there any way to fix this so I don't have to encode every image I wish to use? Encoding the image makes the stylish file absolutely huge, & a real pain to keep encoding whenever I want to change the image.

I've also previously disabled most of the add-ons, except for Status-4-Evar, Stylish, & Firebug, in an attempt to see if something else was interfering, but no change.
I can supply a copy of the previously working (FF 3.x) code to some of the about:blank styles if needed for testing purposes.

Type '''about:addons'''<enter> in the address bar to open the '''Add-ons Manager.'''

  • I updated from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1 and ever since Firefox has run somewhat strangely. In particular when on sites with a lot of images like Facebook, etc

Hello, I am writing as I am experiencing some issues with my favorite web browser after updating to Windows 8.1. Here are some details. I updated from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1 and ever since Firefox has run somewhat strangely. In particular when on sites with a lot of images like Facebook. It is like there is some kind of Flikr effect between the desktop and the images and between the images and the browser (almost like old 16 bit video games flikering). It is not too bad but it is an issue. I have tried resetting firefox and restarting the computer. I haven't tried a repair, and I haven't done an uninstall yet.

thank you for helping, the issue seems to have been caused by the hardware accelerator

Firefox 33.1.1 running on either Mavericks and Yosemite crashes (infinite beachball) about a minute after opening. On both systems I had installed the XMarks and LastPass add-ons. I noticed that when I disabled those add-ons, the crashing behavior stopped. Is there a known issue with those add-ons and the 33.1 version of Firefox?

Does this also happen in Firefox beta? It is working for Yosemite for me on Beta channel.
However if the crashes continue please do post back with the last 5 crash reports. We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.
#Enter ''about:crashes'' in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
#Copy the '''5''' most recent Report IDs that start with '''bp-''' and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box. The image came up on my screen saying that I need to connect my iPod to iTunes, but I have a passcode, so it won't allow me to. And I want to try and turn it off, but my touch screen doesn't seem to be working either, so I can't even turn it off since you need to "slide to power off." HELP! I'm leaving on Thursday morning for six and a half weeks, and I absolutely need my iPod with me. I was just at the Apple store today for problems I was having with ANOTHER product, and I don't really want to drive all the way out to where my nearest store is (which is not very near) if I can figure this out at home. My iPod was working totally fine earlier today and last night, so I don't know what happened! Please, please, PLEASE HELP!

Now it's allowing me to reboot (hold down power button and home button and restart), but every time it just comes up to the same thing: the connect to iTunes page. Which is not possible. And I refuse to restore my iPod. PLEASE HELP.

  • Since Firefox updated to 3.6.12, Ctrl+P no longer works and I can't print my coupons.

When I want to print something from the internet, I press ctrl P and a sign comes up saying, "An unknown error occured while printing. For most things I can copy and paste into WORD and print the information I want. However, this does not work for coupons as they have to be in the format they appear on the screen.

    leapfrog100,
Sorry you are having that printing problem with Firefox and your Canon printer. The objective of doing the '''reset''' is to clear out all the settings for a printer in Firefox, and the next time you go to use that printer in Firefox, it is supposed to pull fresh preferences for Firefox from the printer software.
That '''reset''' article does say that it may be necessary for you to reset all the prefs for the printer with the problem. When you clear those prefs and restart Firefox, they should be gone until you attempt to use that printer again - those prefs are supposed to re-appear when a printer is used the first time after the reset.
Other than checking to make sure you are using the latest Cannon drivers for that printer, I don't know what else to suggest. And, I don't know who to refer you to for further help with your problem.
I can say that Canon printers seem to generate more than their fair share of printing complaints with Firefox, and Canon printers seem to have more than their fair share of Bug reports at Bugzilla. That along with all the unresolved Bugs in Firefox makes it hard to know which program is more at fault with problems like this, the Canon print drivers or Firefox. Personally, I have never had a problem with Firefox not printing with any of the three Epson printers I have had in the time I have used Firefox ''(starting in 2002)'' or with either of the two Brother printers I currently have.

  • CustomEvent no longer works in Firefox extension since v32

Since Firefox 32 was released the extension we use to enable copy/paste in our WYSIWYG editor has stopped working. I believe I have tracked this down to an issue with CustomEvent.
Whenever "detail" is added to a CustomEvent in our extension we receive an error in the cfx run console. In short, this no longer works:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24473784/customevent-error-in-firefox-bootstrapped-addon
    This is the error:
    Message: [Exception... "Failure" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: resource://gre/modules/addons/XPIProvider.jsm -> jar:file:///var/folders/6s/909dglt145x_lxx318y0zplm0000gn/T/tmpJs13JW.mozrunner/extensions/[email protected]!/bootstrap.js -> resource://gre/modules/commonjs/toolkit/loader.js -> resource://gre/modules/commonjs/sdk/loader/sandbox.js -> resource://jid1-ebtrcyjlqioefw-at-jetpack/plugin/data/copy-paste.js :: completePaste :: line 27" data: no]
To be perfectly clear, this extension works just fine in the current Firefox 31 ESR.
    Please advise

I am the developer, I'm trying to fix it. Can you tell me how to do that, or provide a link to a resource that explains it?
The Mozilla documentation claims that what I'm doing should work:
