Since Firefox updated yesterday I cannot post on my blog - getting 'bad request error 400' message.

When I opened my blog today (more than once) the page came up but after I signed in I got a page up which says 'Bad request error 400' and I am unable to create a message or anything else. When I go back to the blog page there are no options on the top right for new post etc. This was all after Firefox automatically updated.

You're welcome

I hit edit portfolio and I made a change to the number of share and to cost price per share. I hit enter and get message Bad Request Error 400

Can you make the changes while you are in Private Browsing mode?
In Private Browsing mode any cookies that you have from regular are not accessible.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

• Since Firefox updated yesterday, it won't respond to addresses in the url field or search terms in the search engine field. I can only go to addresses already in my bookmarks.

When I type an address into the url field the browser will not load the page...it just sits there as though waiting for me to press enter. Also it won't respond to the recently used addresses that show in the dropdown menu. It will also not respond when I try to use the search engine field (google). This started yesterday after Firefox automatically updated to version 3.5.9. I don't get an error message, just no response at all.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See:
* [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
* [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
This can also be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

• I get a "Bad Request Error 400" when trying to get to Gmail. I am running Firefox 3.6.16. No problems getting to other pages or getting to Gmail through IE (ick).

I am running XP and Firefox 3.6.16. Problem started in middle of day, nothing else that I can point to that might have triggered it. Have restarted and that doesn't work either. Doesn't seem to have affected other sites.

• I've been using Firefox for about 8 months and all of a sudden, last night, I can't bring up Gmail. I get a message "Bad Request error 400". I'm not having this problem on my other laptop.

This problem only exists on 1 laptop, not the other. Nothing has changed. I have run my Norton Security and checked for any viruses. Nothing showed up.

• Why won't my "searchpreview" add-on work from my browser search box since Firefox updated to 3.6.16, but it works when I do it from the Google main page??

Since Firefox updated itself to 3.6.16 earlier today, when I search for anything in my Google search box on the browser, it always used to show me thumbnails when the Google page came up. Now there are no thumbnails appearing, except if I go on the Google main page and search from there, the thumbnails still appear. Whe it updated, the browser automatically searched for incompatability problems with my add-ons but nothing appeared to say Searchpreview was incompatible.

• Cannot post on EU blog

Thanks. Hopefully you'll be able to get to the bottom of it and something gets sorted. Don't take this the wrong way but signing up for a twitter account just to beg Fred to reverse this ban isn't an option for me, it just sends the totally wrong message in any context but especially this one.
10 days on and still on auto delete, you have to admire the courage it must have took to silently remove the guy asking tough questions.

Last week on the "10 stories you may have missed" blog post I added a comment asking why some games cost more on the UK PSN store than they do on other digital stores where we know the publisher sets their prices, I used Witcher 3 as a current example and showed how in the US and EU everyone pays the same regardless of which store/platform is used but in the UK the PSN carries a premium of over 10% Nothing in that post violated the terms of use for the blog, simply an honest question that needed an honest answer. That post was subsequently deleted. Furthermore every post I have made since has gone immediately to "awaiting moderation" and is then instantly deleted also. So I figured my question upset somebody (because of the unavoidable implication of price fixing) and I "earned" myself a posting ban, there were no warnings, no contact of any kind, just what looks and feels like an unwarranted ban for posting something that made someone (personal guess, Fred Dutton) feel uncomfortable. Fair enough, if a posting ban is seen as a suitable way to deal with a consumer issue then that is SCEEs prerogative, I'll wait out their sanction, I've learned my lesson: 24 hours passed, can't post so more than a day maybe?72 hours passed, still can't post. They're really upset, a weeks posting ban seems harsh, figured I'll try to contact someone to confirm. The EU Blog has, no contact info whatsoever. The US one does, I contacted them and I also used the only other contact the EU site lists which is support. I later discovered an email address for blog moderators but I suspect it isn't active. Of these, only the official support ticket got a response, and it was devoid of any real detail simply saying they cant help and suggested i post here. Meanwhile i have waited and made test posts, it has now been over a week and I still cannot post on the blog. I can not thank a developer got their game, or ask any questions or post any feedback. I have been effectively silenced and the only information I have been given is that the blog uses a third party moderator making this issue out of SCEEs control. It's pretty poor guy use a third party moderator for an official site anyway, but to use one with zero accountability? What happens if they wrongly apply a posting ban as they have here? Hopefully someone here can help because so far nobody has even been able to tell me why I have lost the ability to post let alone offer some sort of solution.

• HT3275 Since updating OS to Mountain Lion from leopard, I get the following error message when trying to backup with time machine on external drive. Could not complete backup to media share. The network backup disk does not support the required AFP feat

Since updating OS to Mountain Lion from leopard, I get the following error message when trying to backup with time machine on external drive. "Could not complete backup to media share. The network backup disk does not support the required AFP features." What are AFP features and how do I get Time Machine to backup to my current external backup?

This means that your NAS does not support the required encryption. Update your NAS to the latest firmware or ditch it and buy a Time Capsule (they are the most reliable when using TM).

• 400 bad request error after Firefox 4.0.1 update

After the latest Firefox update, the browser no longer works. When I try to go to a web site, Firefox sends the URL incorrectly by repeating the url. For example: if I type the url http://my.yahoo.com/, I get the following error:
400 Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand:
my.yahoo.comhttp://my.yahoo.com/ (port 80)

Thank you again for your help. After clearing the cache and cookies, and still having the problem, I uninstalled/reinstalled firefox. I had tried this before, but allowed it to keep my bookmarks, etc.. This time I had it remove everything (this is a check-box when doing the uninstall).
After reinstalling Firefox this time, the problem went away. Thank you for your help. Your comment about the cache and cookies, made me think that removing all information during the uninstall would help, and it did.
I don't know if your second suggestion would have helped, because it is now fixed.
But I believe it was a possibility.

• Installed Firefox 4 yesterday, and now I'm unable to get online.

Installed Firefox 4 yesterday, and now when I try to get online I get this message: "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade to Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?" I've rebooted numerous times and still get the same error message. Can't get online w/Firefox.

Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
If that doesn't help then do a clean reinstall.
Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You do not need to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

• I cannot open mail - I get "bad request"

I see several people have reported that they cannot open yahoo e-mail after downloading Mozilla - get "bad request". Where do I get help with this problem since this is obviously a problem that needs to be addressed.

That issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

• I cannot install iTunes. I get a Windows Error 126 and missing msvcr80.dll. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing based on all the suggestions, but still have an issue

I cannot install iTunes. I get a Windows Error 126 and missing msvcr80.dll. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing based on all the suggestions, but still have an issue. I've removed all the services, tried moving the dll files as suggested, but I still have no success. Spent all day on this issue. I am running windows 7.

Sorry to hear this isn't going smoothly for you. Try Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. You may have seen some of the suggestions here before but is has taken some users more than one attempt.
