You hit it right on the head, just because they do not lock down bootloaders still does not change that rooting and installing unarthorized firmware or OS violates TOS and voids warrenty which cleans Verizons hands to replace device if it gets damage while doing any of these things to device.

You phone can only be unlocked by your carrier. You need to contact them. Just FYI, we are not Apple here - we are just users like you.

The phone was locked to a network which is why they jail broke it.. Not sure why as it's easier and cheaper to have the network unlock it!!! Which is what I would like to do. At the moment we can't upgrade any software... I'd like to honestly and respectfully use this phone...
euh no, that does not sound right. If you restore from back-up it will not fly.
a. You need to turn on iCloud if not done yet so it sync your contacts, calendar data, etc.
b. You need to back up in case something happens
c. Then restore
d. Then go on the app store, purchased, and re-download the app that you want
e. Then go on settings/iCloud and turn iCloud on with your Apple ID to put back your contacts, calendar data, etc.
That should be enough. -
My sons iPhone 5 was stolen out of his blazer pocket while in a games lesson, this was last period and on return to get changed find that someone from his class had stolen his phone from his zipped pocket. Straight away I went onto the find my iPhone on my phone and it has been showing offline since the phone was stolen. The phone had a password set on it and I have notified the police, school and also our carrier. The phone has been offline now for 32 hours, would this mean they have been unable to access the phone and switched it off? Is it possible for the phone to be jail broken while this password has been set. I am most angry that this has happened and the changing rooms are always locked while the lessons take place, so this is someone within my sons class that has stolen the phone. Being a Friday And last lesson the phone is long gone now but I'm hoping with the security measures we have put in place with the pass code etc.... That they won't be able to unlock the phone to use it. The phone was only 2 days old as my son had only just upgraded :(
All you may infer is the device hasn't been turned on where it can connect to Wi-Fi.
The phone may be jailbroken if there is no lock passcode to prevent access. However, the phone can be completely erased and restored as new. In this case you will have no ability to locate it or prevent it from being jailbroken.

What do you mean? Your only way to unlock that phone is to have had 40 days continuous service with T-Mobile and then process the unlock through them. If you had an account with T-Mobile you should be able to login and process your unlock. If you did not you can click on the chat program but they are going to tell you the same thing.

After installing the new software to my iPhone 4S , my dream zoo either will not start or when it does it has a blank screen that has a few icons on it that wont work. How can I fix this is it possible to go back and reinstall the older software ?
Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. No matter what I do I can not get Firefox working again. No matter how many times I try to redownload it. Any other suggestions?

We have CS5 installed on a workstation, we have the products registered with Adobe. We are going to be replacing this workstation and reinstalling CS5 on a new workstation. Do I need to unregister the product to be able to install it on the new workstation. If so, how do I do this?
Thanksyou should deactivate (help>deactivate) that installation on the old workstation. then download and install on your new work station using your serial number. (ie, make sure you can find your serial number - if you need help with this, let us know.)

My colleague recently synched his phone and now has a full keyboard on the lock screen. My lock screen keypad is set up like phone keys (alphanumeric). He's wondering why his is different, and he also now cannot unlock it. Anyone have this happen? He came to me yesterday and I noticed that his iPhone 4 still had old software (version in the 4's), so I advised him that he needed to synch it up to get the iOS 5.1.1 version. He synched and now can't get back in. He was entering his passcode on the lock screen (which wasn't taking) and I noted to him that his screen didn't look like mine. Anyone know how to fix this issue, or does he have to do a full restore?
He has set up a complex password instead of a simple passcode for his phone. If he doesn't know what it is, he'll have to restore. There is no way around a forgotten passcode.

You forgot the passcode? Restore the iphone.
Carrier unlock? ONLY Sprint cna unlock it and they will only do so for foreign carriers. Contact them and see if you qualify.
