Since I have done an update on July 25th I cannot get connected to the iTunes Store
no connection to the iTunes store possible since the update from 25th July
I also have a 2nd generation iPod and when the new version was being advertised on the home page, I clicked on it. And I saw that the update was compatible with iPod touch 3rd and 4th generation, iPad 1 and 2, and all the iPhones. But it wasn't compatible with iPod touch 2nd generation. So you downloaded an update which wasn't compatible with your iPod. I'm sorry.

I have a PC with a internet connection through a modem and ever since i have had it i have had no connection to the itunes store. And even if I try to update anything it says that i need to check my connection, but my connection is fine. What should I do?
This almost always indicates your firewall or anti-virus utilities are preventing iTunes from contacting the iTunes Store. Here is an exerpt from "Can't connect to the iTunes Store": http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
Troubleshooting on Windows
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store for more than a day —and other customers on our discussion boards aren't experiencing similar issues— a software or internet service provider (ISP) configuration issue may be blocking your access to the iTunes Store. Click here to find out which ports and servers need to be allowed for iTunes Store access.
Update iTunes to the latest version.
If you have not done so already, try the steps in iTunes for Windows: iTunes Store connection troubleshootingto troubleshoot iTunes Store connectivity in Windows.
Firewall issues:
Windows XP: If you've upgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2: By default, Windows Firewall is enabled. As with all firewalls not manufactured by Apple, you will need to configure Windows Firewall to allow iTunes to access the iTunes Store. To do so, see How to enable iTunes in the Windows XP Firewall.
Windows Vista and 7: As with all firewalls not manufactured by Apple, you will need to configure Windows Firewall to allow iTunes to access the iTunes Store. To do so see, the "Blocked by software firewall" section in this article.
Proxies can cause issues and should be avoided whenever possible. To disable the proxy built-in to Windows see, iTunes for Windows Can't access the Internet if proxy settings are incorrect.
If you are receiving a specific error message you may want to see, the "Specific Conditions and Alert Messages" section in this article as needed.
If the issue still persists, contact your internet service provider and confirm that the ports and servers in this article are enabled over your network.
The "hosts" file may be blocking the iTunes Store
Microsoft's article How do I reset the hosts file back to the default? has instructions and a "FixIt" to have Windows try to reset the hosts defaults for you.
Note: Some workplaces may put internal resources in the hosts file but may also use it to block iTunes Store.
To create a copy of your hosts file and replace it with an empty hosts file, follow the instructions for your operating system below. -
I can not connect to the ITunes store. I have updated my apple ID and made sure that everything is set correctly. However, I can not purchase or update any apps no matter what I do. My partner has the same phone and hers works perfectly. I'm not sure how to sort this out. Please help
Thanks
AndyI've been having this problem for weeks and have found no solution to it. There are lots of other people with this issue too if you look back on the boards. I even e-mailed AND called Apple and have had no luck. I tried all the suggestions they gave me and all the ones I found on here- nothing worked. I even uninstalled and re-installed iTunes (boy was that a pain!) and no difference.
The weird part is that I have an old laptop that works and if I buy music with the laptop I can download it with my regular computer buy buying does not work on my regular computer. That tells me it's not a connection issue. I can't get to my account either.
I can't figure out why an issue that has kept so many people from purchasing a product has been ignored! -
I can't connect to the iTunes store from my iMac and have problems loading a number of other websites, however some websites load perfectly well. I have had the iTunes store issue on my iPad and resolved it by changing the DNS but surely I should use the DNS for my router. I don't really want to change it for the iMac as I access secure sites with it to internet shop.
Any ideas, I was going to try loading Chrome but can't get it without going through the iTunes store. Anyway, that is treating the symprom not the cause.Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
and here:
http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

iTunes still does not work properly. It will let me play the music, but it still won’t let me connect to the iTunes store. I did all of the updates, including the "repair missing files" and did a flush and everything comes back as just fine.
I’ve thought about totally uninstalling and reinstalling, but I don’t want to lose all the settings and configurations. Hopefully we can figure out what went wrong.
Last week, I was trying to download an app a couple of days ago and it seemed to get stuck. We had to do a “hard shutdown”to get the computer to shutoff and get out of the iTunes program. I don't know if that had anything to do with my problems. Hopefully any suggestions will help me get back into the iTunes Store. I miss my iTunes!!Try iTunes 9.2.1 which will run on OS X 10.4.11. iTunes 9.2.1, http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1056
You also need at least Safari 4.0.3 to connect to the iTunes Store. You can download Safari 4.1.3 for OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1069 -
I updated my itunes version and since then it won't let me connect to the itunes store. I'm connected to the internet but it says I'm not.

Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

I can't get any updates or download any new apps from iTunes because I "cannot connect to the iTunes Store" or sometimes it says server. I have no trouble getting my email or surfing the Internet, so it is a problem specific to accessing iTunes. Incredibly frustrated! Please help!

I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Here is something interesting that i have noticed though. my main pc (which is the one i have always managed my itunes account with for years) is a 32 bit system running windows 7. Yesterday I installed itunes for the first time on my new netbook which is a 64 bit (windows 7) system and it works just fine. i have three other laptops (all window 7) in my household that are all 64 bit operating systems and ALL have updated to 10.5 and THEY ALL work fine. this is FOUR 64 bit systems ALL updated w/10.5 that work and ONE that is a 32 bit that will not. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!

Can't update apps. "Can't connect to the itunes store "
Hi when I am in the appstore in updates section, it says "can't connect to the itunes store".
I tried to turn off and turn on the ipad, change date, change the wifi connection ... It the same thing. But I can download apps.
I'm using Ipad 1. Can you help me ?BirminghamguyUK wrote:
I don't believe that this is just a coincidence that more than one person is having this problem,
And I don't think that it is some conspiracy put together by Apple to tick people off. Obviously Apple wants you to be able to connect to the iTumes store so that they can line their pockets with even more money from lots and lots of app purchases.
If you were to spend any time on this site you would find that this is a recurring problem for a very small number of users. If there are 10,000 people on this site - all complaining of the same issue, that is still a minuscule percentage of all iDevice users.
You are upset and frustrated and I understand that. I don't think it's a coincidence either, but rather a random number of users that all have the same issue. You are noticing it now, because you came here looking for a solution. Apple even has a support article that talks about how to deal with the issue so even they realize that users can have the problem from time to time. -

Hello!
Could someone please help me?
I cannot connect to the iTunes store on my iPhone for some reason. I have reentered the password, shut the phone on and off a few times and have been able to connect to the iTunes store on my computer. This is a pretty big problem and I don't understand why it is happening.
Many thanks
ChrisLooks like there's a general problem across the US and UK at Apple's end. I've not been able to connect since this morning and there are loads of threads on here about the same issue.
