Since I started using Gmail, emails on my Mac Pro are disappearing
I started using Gmail about two months ago. Now (for the first time ever) all of a sudden emails that have been downloaded to my desktop Mac Pro's Mail are disappearing. It seems like it's random emails that are disappearing, not necessarily all from a certain date range or anything.
Am I doing something wrong??
Tks!

Try rebuilding your mailbox and reindexing Mail. If the meassages are there, they should be 'restored'.

Why do my old email messages disappear from my inbox since I started using OSX Mountain Lion on my mac? These are not messages that I have deleted on other linked devices such as my iPad.

Hi all,
Since I started using os 10.7.4, i cannot use time capsule to back up.
"The backup disk image “/Volumes/*************/*’s iMac.sparsebundle” could not be accessed (error -1)."
WIll this issue be fixed if I upgrade to Mountain LionI've tried but the situation is same.
First, back up disc is supposed to be appeared on the desk top when I start backing up but it's not.
For some reason I cannnot access to the back up disk.
I delete the old record in key chain and fix the name of network, my mac not to contain "'s". -
Since I starting using my MacMini (2011 version) I have not been able to print double sided from my HP Photosmart plus - there is no option for this in the Printer dialog box as there was in the similar dialog box on my PC. How do I set up this option?
1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now? -

Since I started using Lion (10.7.2) I'm prompted to type my password if I want to add a folder or put something in the trash. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
It sounds like the permissions on your Home folder are snarky.
http://osxdaily.com/2011/11/15/repair-user-permissions-in-mac-os-x-lion/
Restart Lion and hold down the Command and R keys.
You will boot into the Repair Utilities screen. On top, in the Menu Bar click the Utilities item then select Terminal.
In the Terminal window, type resetpassword and hit Return.
The Password reset utility launches, but you’re not going to reset the password. Instead, click on the icon for your Mac’s hard drive at the top. From the drop-down below it, select the user account where you are having issues.
At the bottom of the window, you’ll see an area labeled ‘Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs’. Click the Reset button there.
The reset process takes a couple of minutes. When it’s done, quit the programs you’ve opened and restart your Mac. Notice that ‘Spotlight’ starts re-indexing immediately. -

Since I upgraded to Firefox 5.0.1 all bookmarks I added since I started use Firefox Sync dissapeared, only old bookmarks remain. Before upgrade syncing worked fine.
Install the following Add-on until Google releases a new version of their toolbar that is compatible with Firefox 5. Google needs to test their toolbar with Firefox 5 and change one line in their code to make it compatilbe. Most Add-ons that worked with Firefox 4 should still work with Firefox 5, but the developers need to update a line in their Add-on's code to indicate with which versions of Firefox the Add-on is compatible. The following Add-on adds a "Compatibility" button in your Add-ons > Extensions that you may need to click after installing it and restarting Firefox.

Why is iCloud asking for apple id password? I have started using Last Pass to generate passwords that are more secure. Ideas please?
GCGThe iCloud password isn't saved anywhere on your device, this is the way it's supposed to work.

Both of my mac pro are using the same messanger phone number
both of my mac pro are using the same messanger phone number how can i changed
If they are both using the same iMessage Apple ID, they "belong" to the same person, so it makes sense that they be addressed together. To use different phone numbers, assign them different iMessage Apple IDs associated with different iPhones. Alternatively, set one to "listen" to the phone number and the other to "listen" to an email address.

"unknown validation error" appears when I'm trying to sign in to mobile me under preferences. I cannot receive email on my mac pro.
Mobile Me was withdrawn well over a year ago. If you still see Mobile Me in your system preferences it is because you have an old operating system.
iCloud has replaced mobile me, but you would need OS X 10.7.2 or better to use iCloud. -
I have a WD 2 tb hard drive that I want to use to back up my Mac Pro quad core. How do I create a back up startup disk? Also, when I used Time macine, it only backed up users and not the system or library folders. Ideas?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Time Machine should be enough to make a backup of your files. Also, it should back up all folders, so open System Preferences > Time Machine > Options, and make sure that there are no folders included in the excluded items list.
If you want to create a bootable clone of your hard drive, you need to use an app like Carbon Copy Cloner or the Disk Utility's Restore feature > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU7.html -
HT1338 how to use a webcam in a mac pro?
How to use a webcam on a mac pro?
Generally, plug it in.
The OS should notice most major webcams, although you might need to install some software from the vendor to make it work. You'll need to check specific make/models for compatibility.
Once it's connected it should be available in any application that supports video input. -
Can we use FCP conviniently while my mac pro is attached to a LED tv
can we use FCP conviniently while my mac pro is attached to a LED tv (46inch).
I am afraid if the icons will also blow up/get bigger and would become inconvinient to use.most large TV sets are still 1080p (1920 by 1080).
The icons will appear to take up more space (in square inches) on the TV, but will be "grainy" compared to your monitor. The fundamental size of icons and items on screen (in pixels) will not change. When you return to using a monitor, things will be the same as before. -
Emails to my mac account are bouncing back with an error message saying that my IP address is not a valid IPv4 address. How do I correct?
Has nobody answered your question? I have this problem as well. Only one sender, to my knowledge is bouncing. Want to know how to fix it. It's my mom, so either way - my end or her end, I have to fix it. Does anyone have any answers?
Thanks,
Susan
