To delete from the Recently Added playlist and also from your library, select the items in the Recently added playlist and press Option Delete on your keyboard.
Select Move to trash.
Option Delete will remove an item from the library, even if it's in a smart playlist, thus removing it from any playlist.

stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work.

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm a little peed-off with Microsoft on this. The original wireless controller I have doesn't work either since the cable I'm using is 'just' the charge and play cable, so a direct connection to my Mac won't work with this cable. It's a cable for god's sake. Why on EARTH put any limitations on this!?!?
Next I learn I need an additional USB wireless receiver from Microsoft to get my original 360 controller to talk to my Mac. As I certainly don't want to fork any more microsoft dollars on this, this is not an option.
Next I think, yes! I have a MadCatz 360 wired USB controller. This should surely do the trick just plugging it in and the way I go. But oh no, for some reason I plug my MadCatz Xbox360 controller in, it flashes a few times then switches off and can't be turned on again.
The System Profiles recognizes it as a MadCatz 360 device controller but that is about it, but the ontroller software I download for the System Prefs (360Controller, USBOverdrive etc) don't even recognize the controller as being plugged in.
What the **** Is The Microsoft Deal with all of this!?!?
PS: Oh, and I forgot to mention, there are No drivers for device 4716 that I can find on the MadCatz website, or am I going blind?

You need to unpair the old phone from your car. The car manual may not be helpful, but unless someone here has the same car we will be even less helpful. One tip, however; make sure the new phone has a different name than the old phone.

i previously had 21.97 Gb music, over 6 Gb photos, about 1Gb of apps, and minute amount of audio
now i have no music, 5.4 Gb photos and similar (0.8Gb) for apps and audio. i have deleted heaps of photos and unused apps to try to make space but obviosly this is a much bigger problem. I also created a smaller music folder on itunes to sync to but at present no music is selected for syncing due to the lack of available space.
i have 15Gb icloud account now also which is about half full.
Ive done a little research and heard similar tales but with much smaller other totals than this. Can you help?

I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first.

There is a blank space between the Navigation Toolbar and the Tabs. It is the same height as the other Toolbars, and is very annoying. How do I get rid of this space?

What you appear to have a a bookmarks toolbar without any bookmarks.
Make sure that you have the check mark present for the bookmarks toolbar
View > Toolbars
Use "Ctrl+B" to bring up the bookmarks in the sidebar.
You should have three major folders "Bookmarks Toolbar", "Bookmarks Menu" and "Unsorted Bookmarks".
If you have no bookmarks or folders in the "Bookmarks Toolbar" that would be one reason for it to be blank, another and the only other one I think is currently possible through Firefox itself is that you don't have the wording "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" in the row when in customize, look for an item marked "Bookmarks" -- there are two such items you don't want the white star on a black background and drop-down, you want the the one with blue symbol on the right hand side -- drag it to the bookmarks toolbar, be careful in dragging you might drop it in the wrong toolbar.
If that doesn't work use the "Restore Default Set" and then you have to re-customize your toolbars (but you placed a picture here that you could work toward).

I think you may have Voice Over (accidentally) turned on in the Seeing part of Universal Access Preferences. If so, you can turn it off there, or you can toggle it on/off with command-F5. (In this key combination the former is the "apple key" and the latter is the function key.)

My iMac originally came with TechTool Deluxe as a freebie.
Since upgrading to the 10.8.3 I don't want to use it anymore.
It tells me TechTool Deluxe has not been tested on any OS version later than 10.7.
Clicking the Launchpad icon showed the icon for it.
I dragged it to the trash, but, the icon won't go away.
There are no TechTool Deluxe folders under the Applications folder.
I did find the folder where I kept the updater so I deleted that as well.
What do I need to do in order for this icon with the "?" over it to go away?

In order to delete this app from Launchpad, first open Launchpad and hold the Option (Alt) key. Then, you will see the X button above the TechTool app, so press it and it will be deleted from Launchpad

"Other" login identity. How do I get rid of it?

I am using an iMac desktop running Lion 10.7.5. I had a problem last night. When I tried to login, I typed in my password. It seemed like it was going through its normal routine but it took me back to the gray screen where you type in your password. I tried typing in my password again and again, but it never worked. It always went back to the gray screen where you type in your password. I tried restarting, it didn't work. I tried running the disk utility, it didn't work. I tried resetting the PRAM, it didn't work. I evenually tried step 6 in this article - resetting the password, it didn't work. I tried
Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, (part of step 6). That didn't work, but when I restarted the machine after trying to "Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs", I now had two options to login, my regular identity and a new one called "Other". Eventually, I tried reinstalling Lion. That DID work, but now when I start the machine I still have the two indentities at the login screen. How can I get rid of the identity labled "Other"? I tried going to "Users and Accounts" to delete it in the "normal" way, but that didn't work, the "Other" account is not listed in the Users and Accounts preferences window. The "Other" identity IS still there when I go to login. How do I get rid of this? Thanks!

OK, so root is disabled from login, but "Other" still appears.
Well, you could try biovizier's idea, but … both "OTHERUSER" and "SHOWOTHERUSERS_MANAGED" are set to true in my "/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist", and I don't see the "Other" user in my login pane.
Here's what worked for someone a while back, in 10.3 days I think.
First, let's just take a backup of your NetInfo database. Open the Terminal (from /Applications/Utilities) and copy and paste the following into the Terminal window, one line at a time, with a return after each line:
cd /var/db/netinfo
cp -p local.nidb local.nidb.origAfter the first return you will be prompted for your password. This is not echoed for security reasons: just type it and press return.
Then you can quit Terminal, and open NetInfo Manager. Be careful!
In Netinfo Manager, authenticate and navigate to /users/root.
Delete the generateduid (if there is one) and authentication_authority fields (the whole line, not just the values—select the line and click "Delete").
Select the "passwd" line and edit its value (double-click the value to do this) to a single *.
Close the window and accept the changes when prompted.
Now quit NetInfo Manager, and start Directory Access (in /Applications/Utilities). Under the Services tab, is "NetInfo" enabled? If it is, turn it off (you will need to authenticate).
As I say, this worked under 10.3, but may no longer be relevant.

I want to see my chosen home page when I click on Firefox, but your ad shows up. How do I get rid of it?

When I go to Mozilla Firefox, I always see YOUR page first instead of my chosen home page. This page says "Committed to You, your privacy and an open web under your logo, and in top right corner, it says "See what's New" and it makes me either check "No Thanks" or "Let's go". This is annoying because I really just want my home page when I click on Firefox.
How do I get rid of YOUR page that comes up first? If I can't get rid of this, I plan to no longer use Mozilla Firefox. Please advise. (I would have given you a screen shot, but your system doesn't accept it here)
