Since I updated by iTunes to the newest 11.1.4, I'm unable to sync any new music onto my iPhone 4s
I run a macbook pro and haven't had any issues with my iPhone/iTunes previously. Right now my phone will only play purcahsed music and literally random other songs (it'll play three from a CD, but not the others). I've tried checking/unchecking playlists and all that stuff, the only things I haven't tried are resetting my phone and re-installing iTunes. I'd like to avoid doing either, but are there any other options for me?
there is not a way to transfer those playlists to that itunes library from your phone, but heres an idea to help you out.
take screen shots of the playlists on your phone then when they get deleted after the sync you'll have to re-create them but at least you'll know what was in them

I cant upload any new music onto my iphone because im already connected to another iTunes library.
Basically, when I got my very first iPhone, I had connected it to an iTunes library on my laptop at the time.
Since then, that laptop has broke and I have my new one with iTunes on it. All of my iPhone's content is on this new iTunes apart from my music which it wont let me upload any other than what I have purchased on my phone. Every time I try to sync my music, it says that it will replace all of my iPhone's content for the content which is on my old iTunes. This happens if you are Syncing to a Different iTunes Library on a Different Computer.
By design, the iPhone will Only Sync to One iTunes Library at a time, -
I recently updated iTunes to version 10.3.1.55. Since then when I try to sync my IPod classic it says on the top of iTunes (where the barbers pole is) "Step 1of1 Determining Tracks to Sync". This stays like that for about 15 minutes before a message pops up saying "Itunes could not copy ""song title name here"" to the Ipod because an unknown error occurred (-50)". This message pos up for every song title that has been added to itunes since the itunes update. Therefore I am unable to sync any new music. This only happens when syncing the ipod as the iphone syncs with no problems.

I've just updated my Itunes to the newest update (iso7 I think) and now my itunes won't even open. It just jumps 2-3 times on my dock then doesn't open. I have no idea what to do , please help!
Open Finder. Go to the "Go" menu in the menu bar. Press and hold Control and click on Library. Go to "Preferences". Find a file named, "com.apple.iTunes.plist" and delete that file. This won't delete your iTunes content. It will reset iTunes. Try it again.

i cannot find a way to update my itunes to 10.6.8. i need this in order to sync my new ipod. i just updated to 10.6.3.help!
As Limnos says, you first need to update to OS X 10.6.8 before you can install iTunes 11 (please note the version numbers).
To update OS X close all running applications and make sure you have a current backup. Then pull down the Apple menu and select Software Update. This may show you several items that you can update. Choose OS X 10.6.8. This may take some time. After the process is complete you will be able to run Software Update again and it ought to offer you iTunes 11. -

When I manually upload new music onto my iPhone 5 it causes existing music to no longer be playable and a circle with an exclamation mark to appear next to it. Or that it won't upload at all, the song is in grey with a dotted circle next to it. This is incredibly frustrating; especially as I have 1.9GB free on my phone.. why is that?
Try this procedure; it has worked for many people.
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music. -
My iPod will no longer turn on after attempting to update my iTunes to the newest version.
Pretty self-explanatory for the most part. I was attempting to update iTunes to the newest version because I have been putting it off forever. It's not currently the newest version..however when it was updating, my iPod went into recovery mode (the screen flashed to the iTunes symbol & the USB symbol) & then after a few minutes of trying to restart it (pushing the home & the lock button) it went completely black & will not turn on whatsoever. My iTunes STILL will not recognize it & I have done everything to try to turn it on/get it to work, but nothing happens.
Additional details that just happened: When I try to get it out of the black screen of death by holding the home & the lock button now, the Apple icon flashes for a few seconds, but won't fully turn on, which I don't understand why? Now it's back to the recvovery mode screen.
Any suggestions? It's fully charged, I know that for sure.
I would really appreciate the help though! I walk 20 minutes to class every day & always have it with me. It's a 4th Generation iPod Touch.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

I have been not updating my windows for some time and the accumulated update is almost 1GB+ . After I update, I can open the iTunes again fine.

My cord is not the problem I have two different cords but neither of them work. What could be the problem? I can still charge my phone through the wall, but until this is fixed I basically can't use iTunes.

Did you create a new iTunes library on the new computer? A device can only synch with one library at a time and will delete material from syncing with another library (it warns you of this). If this is the case you need to get your old music from whatever the original source was.
