Since I updated my iPad 2 to OS 8, when I hit the home key, I get a "sign in to iCloud" message. When I enter my password, it doesn't take it but Settings shows I'm signed in to iCloud.....not sure why

Try signing out and signing back into iCloud. This worked for me.

Check Settings>General>Restrictions and see if they are turned on and Siri is restricted.

It seems that when i hit the home button it brings up a previous webpage i visited, rather disturbingly it is my bank website and tries, i must say tries to login... but does not as my bank has many firewalls. but what is going on and can you help me?

I got on this morning to check my balance as i get a direct deposit from my work. Once i checked my bank i logged off as normal. then hit the home button. It did not direct me to my home. yahoo.com but went instead to msn.com. so i went into my options and reset my home page. When i hit the home button on any particular page, the home page appears on the bar, but it just sits there, doing nothing with a blank screen....

when i activate a web page from the home netzero homepage, and then try to go back to the home page by way of the home button, nothing happens. Verify that the battery is charged (connect to the supplied charger & cable for a couple of hours).
Reset your device:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

Multiple Tab Home refresh issue, I would like to not get 6 new tabs to open when I hit the home button, I would like it to refresh the six tabs I already have open back to the saved settings. Internet explorer does this.

I like to have my home button restore multiple tabs for me. Sometimes I close some of the default tabs or they move from their default pages. Based on my experience with internet explorer I first select the left most tab and then hit the home button. It restores all saved tabs in the default. With Firefox is always opens brand new tabs and moves the existing ones to the right. Is there a setting to make it not open all new tabs.

That's the way the Homepage button works in Firefox, it reloads one tabbed homepage and opens all the rest of your homepages in new Tabs, appending the Tabs that are already open.
IIRC, the TabMix Plus extension has an option to reload your Homepages in existing tabs.

Does the screen come back on if you press the sleep/power button?
Have you tried powering down (hold sleep/power button and swipe red slider) then power back up? Power cycling sometimes will clear problems.
If neither works, and you can get to an Apple store, have the genius bar folks try it out...they are very good about replacement if faulty.

The circle just spins and times out and nothing happens. How much free space do you have? If it is low, installers may not be able to run properly.

Sorry, you cannot downgrade iOS software.
First thing to try is a reboot of your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appear. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.
