Since i updated the wifi on iMac internet runs slow
Bought imac 27 inch 2.7ghz with 4gb ram last week - everything was running fine - super fast - i havent done anything of note on the computer - installed photoshop, trial version of word etc etc.
I updated a few things yesterday - namely the wifi update to version 1?
my safari is now annoyingly slow - also anything else i do needing internet connection is slow
my iphone, ipad and the laptop is all working superfast on internet - but pages on this imac now take a while to load (by a while i mean 20-30 secs) it wasnt like this before and as ive only just bought it its frustrating me to the point i want to take it back - i can follow instructions etc etc to solve this but im at a loss as its my first mac and was loving the experience but this mac is mainly for internet and want to know whats wrong with it.
any help would be greatly appreciated before i return it to shop or tell apple to come and sort it.
Boot from your recovery partition (command-R at startup) and select Get Help Online. Safari will launch. Is it slow?

It is hardly Apple's fault that Epson can't/won't update their driver, but at least Epson suggest that you use the Gutenprint driver, which in any case is far better that what Epson offer.

I have an older ipod...ever since I updated the itunes software my ipod no longer works in my car. my car is a 2013 mercedes E350. Is there a way to go back to an older version of the itunes software?
If it's an older iPod, its software is not being updated by Apple. So, I don't see how updating iTunes would make the iPod not work with the car's audio system, since iTunes just updates the song files (not how the iPod operates).
Does the iPod work by itself (play songs), when disconnected from the computer and iTunes? -

Yes, they told me I should contact apple, but apple hasn't helped me either! The iHome has worked perfectly all along and it still is working it has power just will not connect anymore to play my music.

Problems with Bluetooth connections are generally traced back to the vehicle. If you search here in the forum you will find a number of posts with issues connecting with Honda vehicles. Try removing the phone from the vehicle's list of Bluetooth devices. Then try removing the vehicle from the iPhone's list of Bluetooth devices. Then place both devices back in discovery/pairing mode and try to connect them. You may need to take the device to the dealer to check for software updates.
Next, I understand it used to connect, however software updates for the iPhone will load the latest Bluetooth stack into the phone and vehicles do not always get updated as often. My Macbook Pro has a black screen when running in Bootcamp Windows 7. Since I updated the mac side my windows side now starts up with completely black screen - no prompt, nothing, Cap keys still light up as does mouse and DVD drive seems to run.
Will not show up in safe mode, will not show when started from Windows 7 DVD.
I suspect the Mac update wiped out my PC video drivers but can not think of a way to re-install?
Can see the PC volume from Mac side with files.
I've looked at all the online solutions so far and have tried most of them without success. Please help!

Specifically, the posts by Dunsany and valkyr did the trick. I booted in safe mode, uninstalled and deleted the Nvidia driver, disabled automatic driver installation, and restarted normally. I then manually downloaded and installed the previous Nvidia driver for my graphics card (which at the time of this writing was 335.23, rather than the latest which was 337.88), and everything is now bueno!
Two hiccoughs along the way: First, when I tried to uninstall the Nvidia driver the first time, when I restarted I got the login screen (which was a good sign), but it quickly went black again. I powered down, restarted in safe mode again, and repeated the uninstallation process, and it worked the second time. Second, when I started the manual install of the 335.23 driver, the computer played a sound similar to the one for disconnecting a USB device, and the screen went black. I'd seen a lot about trying to increase the brightness (though it hadn't worked up to this point; but if you haven't tried it yet, might as well); I tried it, and it worked! So far I'm back up and running. [/fingers crossed]

To check the local network for some of the common configuration problems, launch Terminal.app and issue the following diagnostic command:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
That'll report some local configuration information and then either no errors detected and no changes required, or it'll point to whatever configuration errors or issues it might detect. That doesn't catch everything, but it catches the common errors.
FWIW, 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are poor choices for the local network, as VPNs are based on IP routing and IP routing gets tangled when the same subnet is used on both ends of the VPN. 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are near ubiquitous in home networks and coffee shops. -
My young kids have ipads and since I updated the software, but they have their own icloud account, predictive text within their messages shows all my contacts from my iphone but the contacts are not listed as their contacts, how do I stop this?
I have deleted the iCloud account under my name on their iPads and replaced with their ones. Apple support said yesterday I needed to click the small 'I' by each name as it came up in the TO box and remove it. After doing rid for each contact under each letter of the alphabet it should remove them from latest contacts. Having done this, although I could not remove groups I had sent, I am not convinced they will not return once I have written a few texts, any ideas?

Ever since I updated the operating system, itune doesn't play music on iphone 4. If it plays, it plays only one song and gets stuck. I've tried to reconnect to the computer to see whethere there has been missing portion during the upgrade... but not really. does anyone have the same issue?

Your problem has nothign to do with your installation of Mavericks. I assume you are referring to your SuperDrive not being able to read any discs, is that correct? If so then please advise what troubleshooting steps you have taken? -

Farm Heroes will not work on my iPad since I update the game.I could play just fine before I updated it on May 1st. I was up to level 120. I have tried everything,restarting iPad, uninstalling and reinstalling Farm Heroes,uninstalling all other games, and even did a reset on my iPad. The game will not stay on. I can sign in to Facebook but if I click Play it will shut off before or right after my first move.And always starts on level 1.I wish I could undo the uplate.....
