thx for the help,

Hello Marcia,
Sorry you are having trouble syncing content with your iPhone 5. I found an article that might help with this syncing issue:
iTunes: May become unresponsive when connecting iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3219
Also, you can delete the songs from the iPhone without syncing by just swiping from left to right over the song to get a delete button.
I hope this helps!
Best,
Sheila M.

  • When syncing after recent update, sync is stuck at "Step 4 of 4" "Waiting for changes to be applied" and will not complete, even after hours.  How can this be fixed?

I completed the most recent software update for both iTunes and iPhone recently.  I am now trying to sync my iPhone to add newly purchased audiobooks and the sync remains stuck at "Step 4 of 4" with the message "Waiting for changes to be applied"  I have tried everything to correct this.  When sync is cancelled a failure to sync message is generated.  Any ideas????

Alright, so I reset my computer and suddenly it then recovered. Other times it wouldn't recover after resetting the computer, so I have no idea how it happened. I just restarted the computer lots of time and finally it worked.
Okay, back to square one. Now to transfer music, I tried my previous acknowledgable solutions but they didn't work. The iPod touch does not feature a hard-disk mode, and windows media player doesn't support iPods.
I've tried multiple programs to transfer music but none of them work properly and keep giving me error codes. So my iPod still gets stuck at Step 4: Waiting for changes to be applied or whatever it said.
Thanks in advance ._. (Please help)
p.s - Apple is useless. If I don't get steady answers tomorrow I'm going to end up calling them and get this problem fixed first hand. Second hand? I don't know, over the **** phone.

I really don't appreciate the fact that no one from Apple seems to be dealing with the many, many threads that have started on this topic since iOS 7 came out. In any event, I seem to have solved my problem with a full software restoration -- that is, iOS software restoration.
I clicked on "Restore iPhone..." which does a complete reinstall of the iOS but also all apps, photos, songs, etc. Took about 45 minutes, but seems to have worked.
I had previously tried reverting to a backup of my iPhone, but that did not solve the problem. Only a full restore solved it.

  • HT1386 i updated itunes 11.1 yesterday and now im trying to get my music on itunes to sync onto my iphone 4s but when i connect it through usb...Itunes is saying " waiting for changes to be applied"?

i updated itunes 11.1 yesterday and now im trying to get my music on itunes to sync onto my iphone 4s but when i connect it through usb...Itunes is saying " waiting for changes to be applied"? so i dont know what to do cause i just want to sync my music from itunes to my iphone 4s

I had the same problem and the fix was so easy that I felt a little silly after spending 2 hours with an Apple Technician.  At the end of it all, what I had to do was make sure ALL music was deleted from my iPhone 5 by going into usage and clearing out the music folder.  All I had to do then was turn my phone off and turn it back on again.  I had not done this after my phone upgraded to the new 7.0 IOS.   What's the first thing you do when experiencing computer problems?  Reboot!   It fixed my problem and now my iPhone 5 synchs perfectly when I had it connected to my computer.  I am also on iTunes version 11.1.

  • I have the most recent phone update and iTunes, and when I am trying to upload new music it says "waiting for changes to be applied" but nothing actually changes after a few minutes. Has anyone else had this problem? I can't even remove music

has anyone else had the problem with getting your iphone to sync? i can't get any of my newly downloaded music to sync to my phone from my itunes and i tried to delete all my music and it won't even sync to do that. i dont know what to do.

try a new/fresh apple brand cable and make sure it is the only usb cable in use. this worked for me, i noticed i had no problem with a lighting cable. i did a restore from scratch and from backup and it did not help me...and if you cant sync than you wont be able to get anything but apps back after the restore

  • IPad syncing hangup: "waiting for changes to be applied"

When I choose to sync my ipad 1 (latest OS 5.01) with my itunes (latest Lion 10.7.2)  it goes through 6 steps of 7  and then the seventh step of 7 says "waiting for changes to be applied".  I have left that step on over15 hours and it never moves on the say sinc complete.  In the meantine all 3200 of my songs in itunes on my ipad have disappeared.  I selected to do my syncing thru iCloud.  Is that my mistake?  Do I have to reset my ipad and will I lose thousands of pictures, songs and aps if I do?
I think I am begining to hate iCloud.

I have tried about everything and nothing works and apple support is like going to Microsoft support.
here in communities its not that ez to get back to where I was. I have found many threads and comments about this and nobody seems really thrilled about the fix and the folks that help here are baffled about it too. I have tried posting with this problem 3-4 times already and no responses -so I think this is an unresolvable problem which makes my ipad unusable since I cannot add music or movies or tv shows to it.
I like others have spent hours on this--already tried reset a few times and 2 restores but the problem comes back.
and it includes the bar below where it shows different things using up space including a fast increasing "other" category.
    there is a software issue.
by the way, the new io8 o whatever it is? using safari has become cumbersome because the bookmarks stay on left side of screen taking up valuable space--that can be fixed by tapping on the bookmark logo, only after you scroll back up--bring back the old way.
in addition as long as I am venting, all of a sudden I am getting, while using safari, pop up ads galore tied somehow to google.
apple is losing its competitive advantage.
I'll have to try adding a book or a new app to see if I can add those--if not, I'll have to give up on apple for tablets.

  • ITunes sync getting stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied" with the latest iTunes 11.4.0.18 and ipad2

Downgraded to ios 7.1.2 after ios 8 disaster. Now iTunes 11.0.4.18 and windows 7 and my ipad2 will not sync. I received an error message that the sync failed to finish. I  have lost all my apps I think but that is another problem. Why won't my pad sync?

Yes, my iPhone 5 running ios 7 will not sync in *any* way with itunes now.  I can neither add nor remove content via itunes.  I just tried to delete 100% of my music from my iphone, it hung forever on "Waiting for changes to be applied" and then when it was finally done... no changes had been applied.
I can't add, remove, change, delete or in any way of any kind sync my iphone with itunes any longer.
I'm becoming the person who refuses to update to the new Apple OS.  I used to get very excited about new OS updates.  That all ended around Mountain Lion.  Yesterday when I saw that Mavericks was out I wasn't excited.  Instead I felt a sense of dread, and for good reason.  Every time they release an OS in the last few years it's just a cluster-F.

  • HT201263 using windows 8 computer, ipad sync stuck on 'waiting for changed to be applied'

    Hi
I have downloaded some movies to my computer with digital copy, and would like to sync them to the ipad.  Computer runs on Windows 8, with iTunes 11.1.1.11.  Ipad runs on iOS 7.0.2.  When I sync, the process stops at 'waiting for changes to be applied'.  It seems to hang up there.  What can I do?
    Thanks!

  • When syncing my iPad with my computer I keep getting the notice ' waiting for changes to be applied '.  What is this all about ?

When syncing my iPad with my computer I keep getting the notice ' waiting for changes to be applied '.  What is this all about ?

If everything is working OK, I believe it simply means that the iPad and iTunes are communicating and that any changes that you made to the sync configuration are waiting to go through. If you updated apps on the iPad and they get transferred into iTunes or if you download new songs onto the iPad and they are being transferred into iTunes, any app data that moves back and forth - those would be changes that need to be applied.
If you can't finish the sync and that's why you are asking, can you provide more specific details?

  • Following iOS7 update, sync hangs on "Step 6: Waiting for changes to be applied"

Just updated to iOS7.  Everything seems be be working fine except for the fact that I can't sync my phone.  It stalls on "STEP 6: Waiting for changes to be applied."
    Anyone else having this problem?

I'm curious if the folks on this or the other threads dedicated to this problem have pretty substantial (say, over 25 GB) music files.
I ask because the simplest thing seems like it solved it for me. Every sync since downloading ios 7 and itunes 11.1 encountered this problem. I did all the resets of my device and Macbook Air, re-installed itunes, factory reset on my iphone (4s), turned off Genius and Find My Phone, double checked my download file in itunes, deleted all my voice memos, deleted all my media and then re-installed it, basically any of the suggestions I came across on the discussion boards or were recommended during any of my three Apple support chat sessions, it still hung up every time resulting in partial or complete deletion of my music and other media.
Then this evening for the first time I fought the urge to cancel the sync when it seemingly got stuck and I just let it go. Well over an hour later the sync finished seemingly normally and since then it's been fine, syncing just as quickly as it always used to. I've got about 43GB of music that syncs every time, I wonder if there isn't something that the new itunes/ios needs to do to the individual files that just takes awhile. My wife updated to ios 7 on the same day I did and never had this issue, the only noticeable difference between our phones is the size of our respective music libraries.

  • IPad 2 with iOS 7 stuck on "Waiting for Changes to be applied".

Since I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 7, I can't sync to my computer, it get's stuck on "Waiting for Changes to be applied".  How do I fix this?

My itunes wouldn't sync my videos on to the ipad and the progress got up to "waiting for changes to be applied". I've tried a lot of things including:
    Restart Computer
    Delete voice memos
    Close all active apps
    Restore iPad
This has done nothing to help.
