Since I've updated the software on my ipad2 my apps won't install, why?

I've recently updated the software of my ipad2 to ois5.1.1 and since I've done it I can't install apps. They appear on my home screen but just say waiting!!!! Why is this???

Check iTunes and see if you have a pending or stalled download in there. If you do, finish that download or delete it if you can. If you can't finish or delete the download on the iPad, do it in iTunes on your computer and then sync the iPad. Then go back to the apps and see if they will download.
If that doesn't work or if that was not the problem, go to Settings>Store >Apple ID, tap your ID and sign out. Then reboot the iPad, Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Then go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and sign in again and see if the apps will update.

    If you have been using your phone as recommended, you should have minimal data loss from the inability to restore from a backup.
    Contacts and calendars should be synched to a computer application like Outlook or Address Book (or a cloud service like Google Contacts or iCloud).  The update process does NOT affect these computer applications so your contacts and calendars should be safe and sound in the application ready for synching back to your phone.
    Same for photos.  It is recommended that photos be imported to your computer as soon as possible after taking them (just as you would import them from any other camera) for storage, archival and safekeeping.  Again, your photos should be safe and sound on your computer.
    If you've not been using your computer as recommended, you've learned a very hard lesson, I'm afraid.

    I fixed it!!
    While not connected to any USB cable I put the iPad in recovery mode.
    To do that turn the iPad completely off. Press and hold the home button while turning the iPad on, once you see the apple logo release the home button.
    Turn on your OS X mac after it boots up connect the USB from iPod to Mac. iTunes should start. If not launch itunes.
    Perform the factory restore process paying attention to all of the screen message windows. Then set up the ipad like it was new.

    i have the ipad 2 16gb 3g and wifi, i carried out the latest update and was at 64% battery it updated as normal no problems then i went to use it about 15 mins later to c my battery was at 2% and then it powered down!!!!!
    i trid charging it and it came up sayin charged and displayed 2% then switch off and kept powering up and cutting out so i carried out the reset though itunes and it put software on to fix battery and powering up problems and now it turns on fine but still will not charge correctly (must also point out im using the correct charger from the wall and i have tried other chargers and cables which have made no difference)
    this is really bugging me as my ipad is a great piece of kit and worked brilliantly until i have updated which begs the ?? why are apple releasing updates which inaffect have destroyed my ipad :-(

    There is no way to revert to the old software. I doubt that your problem has anything to do with iOS level 4.3.5 per se. It might be an artifact of the update process itself.
    Try the following:
    Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address via DHCP and you won't be able to access the Internet.
    Reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect.
    Does your iPad connect to other networks?
    If the problem persists do a restore to original on your iPad and recover to the backup.

  • TS2771 both cameras on my iPod touch 4 gen (iOS 6.1.2) haven't worked since i updated the software. any ideas?

    my ipod touch has been through a lot before this issue and the cameras have always worked. it wasn't until i updated the sotware on the ipod that the camera "shutters" haven't opened. at first i thought nothing of it because before when that would happen it was because there was not enough mempry to take photos or videos. i then proceded to delete some. but the shutters wouldn't open. i don't know what the problem is. i can open the app, and look at my pictures, but i just can't take any. memory is not the issue, so i haven't a clue what's wong. since then i've updated the software again but the camera still refuses to let me use it. i've tried switching between the two cameras and both don't work. can anybody help me? or is this an issue where i'd have to take it into an apple store?

    Try:

  • On that last software update we (my family) have noticed on all our iPhone devices there is a huge gitch problem with our devices. My phone is an 4s but the other devices a brand new phones and they started since they updated the software they are having

    A concern we've noticing since we have updated the lastest software... Our phone keep glitching and it's moving extremely slower than usual. I have the 4s and my kids have the newer phones 5c and the 5s. Is this a on going problem and if so when is it going to be fixed because this is terrible. Very disappointed customer. I was waiting on the newer iphone for myself but if apple can't get things straighten out with software I will have to consider your competitors. I have majority apple products and so far I am hating the issues I am having. Please fix soon. Thank you.

    You speak about glitches in your iPhones but unless you describe those glitches, we are unable to offer any help. You mention you are having issues but we are not psychic and cannot imagine what those issues could be.

    Problems with Bluetooth connections are generally traced back to the vehicle. If you search here in the forum you will find a number of posts with issues connecting with Honda vehicles. Try removing the phone from the vehicle's list of Bluetooth devices. Then try removing the vehicle from the iPhone's list of Bluetooth devices. Then place both devices back in discovery/pairing mode and try to connect them. You may need to take the device to the dealer to check for software updates.
    Next, I understand it used to connect, however software updates for the iPhone will load the latest Bluetooth stack into the phone and vehicles do not always get updated as often.     I have deleted the iCloud account under my name on their iPads and replaced with their ones. Apple support said yesterday I needed to click the small 'I' by each name as it came up in the TO box and remove it. After doing rid for each contact under each letter of the alphabet it should remove them from latest contacts. Having done this, although I could not remove groups I had sent, I am not convinced they will not return once I have written a few texts, any ideas?

    When you first create an Apple ID (using your email address) a verification email will be sent to that address. If you sign in to your Apple ID from the link in that email, the email address will be verified as the primary email address for your Apple ID. You can also resend the email verification if the email address is not verified:
    1. Sign in to My Apple ID to manage your account information.
    2. Click Resend under Primary Email Address.
    3. Verify your changes by following the link in the email you will receive from Apple and signing back in to your account.
