Since installing a new router my mac wont remember it

Since installing my new WD N900 router last week, my mac wont remember my setting when i close the lid or turn the mac off.  All my other apple prodcts remember the router. Iphone,Ipad and apple tv. So I know it not the router. I previously used the standard TalkTalk Cable router and everything worked fine.
what I have to do is click on the WI-FI symbol and pick my router from the list each time.
Plese help guys as it a really annoying process.

First contact your ISP.  You need to confirm that the issue is not on their end.
Change your router channel.  Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router.  Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.

Unlock the padlock
Locations:  Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock.  Highlight Airport.  Network Name-select your name.  Click on the Advanced button.  Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."  Click the OK button and lock the padlock.  Restart your computer.

I just installed the new firefox for Mac OSX 10.6.8 and when I select an image on a site (right click and copy) and paste in Photoshop 5.5, the image lightens. It does not do this in Safari.

Firefox, Safari, and PhotoShop each handle embedded color profiles differently. For an add-on that makes it easier to experiment with Firefox's color management options, you might be interested in: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/color-management/ Color Management :: Add-ons for Firefox]. • My ipad won't accept my network key to connect to the internet, installed a new router

My ipad will not accept my network key in order to access my secured internet.  I installed a new router today, not sure that matters.

If you are sure you are using the correct network key, try:
Go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset network settings. After it restarts, try again to reconnect.

I just installed a new router and cannot connect with my ipad now.  I have no idea what settings I shold be looking at or how to do this

you likely need to setup your router using an eathernet cable and a computer to turn on the wifi part and set an encryption level and password or the likes
if you havent do such things before you may require help from somebody who have
the router likely comes with an instruction manual how you set it up the first time

Since Installing a new hard drive on my 2008 macbook and reconnecting to to time capsule through time machine, I can only get backups since the install.
I receive a message saying identity of backup dis has changed and offers me the choice of either Don't back up or Use this disc.

Time Machine treats any new drive like a new computer. It starts a completely new Time Machine backup. So you now have two backups - a new one and all your old ones.
Visit Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with managing your Time Machine backups.

  • I installed a new router from my ISP provider and now I can't find my Time Capsule or "Guest" network.  What do I need to do to correct this problem?

I installed a new (and supposedly better & stronger) router from my ISP provider (Verizon) and now I can't find my Time Capsule or "Guest" network.
My Mac is not backing up because it can't find my Time Capsule network & my "Guest" network has also disappeared.
What do I need to do to correct this problem?

You must reset the TC to factory and start over. The TC simply remembers too much from the previous setup to work in the new one.
If your new router is going to take the router role, then the TC will have to be bridged and you will lose your Guest wireless.. the way around this is to use the Verizon router as your guest wireless and the TC as your main wireless.
    The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
    Factory reset Gen 5
Hold in reset for about 5sec until the status light flashes quickly.
If your AirPort Time Capsule still doesn’t respond, do a similar reset to the Gen1-4.
Unplug your AirPort Time Capsule .. hold in reset and power the TC back on.. without releasing the reset.. wait until status led flashes rapidly.

  • We installed a new router and changed the name of the router. Now my HP C4500 printer won't print.

Our cable company installed a new wireless router and changed the name of the router.  Now my HP C4500 printer won't print from my laptop.
I can't find any ot the Set Up stuff I used initially.
Is there any way to get my printer to work again...wirelessly?

Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.  When you start the installation it will ask what kind of installation you would like.  Choose "Wireless" or "Network" then click "Next".
Eventually it will ask you to plug in a USB cable to the printer temporarily to communicate the new router's info to the printer.  Make sure to not plug in the USB until it asks.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Need suggestions for new router running mac with eyeconnect, and ps3

We have the latest version of leopard on our 24" imac and we have eyeconnect ver. 1.6 we need to buy a new router and i want one that is very easy(like plug it in and walk away)to use. The main priority for this is not having problems streaming media to our ps3 via eyeconnect or medialink. Wireless or wired whatever would be the best i have never actually had an airport only linksys and have been unhappy with most of them any advice welcome about the router or getting eyeconnect to be recognized by the ps3 once its hooked up. Thank you

What I have in my house is an Airport Extreme with it's two (n,b or g) wireless connections for older non-N wireless connections. I then got a D-Link DGS-2208 10/100/1000Mbps 8-Port Desktop Green Ethernet Switch 8 for fast subnet sharing in the house. This speed is important for HD video sharing for from the external I have connected to the USB2 port on My Extreme.
Note: My Extreme is in "Bridged mode" because it sits behind a wired router that acts as the DHCP server.
Getting a router with Gig Ports and and USB2 port for an external to store/share files (videos mainly) to all my networked devices. The USB2 port on the Extreme was the deciding factor for the extra cost and this handy port making any USB2 external into a networked drive. Plus my older iPhone 3GS only does G it was a no-brainier because of the dual wireless.
The GIG switch is future proofing yourself for the years to come.
Plus I called the extreme but it is a Time Capsule that is just and extreme with a built-in disk.
One more thing: Use CAT6 cables in your network.

  • Install of new HDD in Mac Book Pro

Final questions about installing a new, blank HDD in my MBP:
My understanding is that to install OS X on a new, blank drive, I simply insert DVD 1 into the disk drive, select save files and archives, and repond to further prompts. Is that correct? Do I also need to hold down the option key while the DVD is running in the drive?
With these questions answered, i'll be good to go on the new drive.
    Thanks.

Do you want a fresh copy of the OS or do you want to move from another drive? If it's the former, then you just run the installation from the disc. If it's the latter, it depends on what you have on the old drive (e.g. Time Machine or a regular OS X install).

  • Lots of issues since installing a new apple keyboard

Since I purchased a new a apple keyboard (the new wired flat ones) I have had nothing but issues with any USB devices plugged in.
Specifically my Belkin hub which prior was perfect now has all sorts of issues.
Trying to import images on a card reader often results in the 'device being removed' even though it was not.
The 'ALT" key does not work on start up to choose which operating system to boot into
When launching windows it will often not launch until the keyboard is removed.
Other random funky behavior such as the mouse doing its own left clicks many times over and over
Sometimes when starting up clicking an application in the dock just opens its location in a finder window.
All this started when putting this keyboard on, and all stops when I take it out and go back to my apple wireless one.
Do I have a duff one, or does anyone experience this?

  • How to install on new (late 2010) Mac Pro

I am going to use Migration Assistant to transfer my data from my old G5 to my new Mac Pro, but would appreciate advice on how to install AW on the new Mac. I have my original Appleworks 6 DVD with the notation in small print: Version 6.2.9 (circa 2003). I then also have a CD that I burned and labeled "Appleworks 6.2.9 Updater". I vaguely remember doing this, but can not recall what it was for. Please advice. Thanks!

OK, got it by installing from the disk and the computer sending me to Rosetta. Much simpler than I expected. Appleworks rocks .

  • Install D-Link router on Mac

I just bought a D-Link Router 6-15. Now I want to install in Mac but I don't know how. Does anyone help me?

connect the ethernet cable from the mac to the router and from the modem to the router.
Access the router via your web browser via the default gateway IP which typically is http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1
enter the default user and pasword should be in the manual fr the router or even printed on the bottom of the router.
Configure the way the router connects to the internet if you have cable internet its pretty much plug and play if you have DSL you may need to enter some IP settings and PPoE settings depending on your provider you'd have to talk to them to find out what it is.
