Since installing Firefox 4 I am having problems when accessing my bookmarks. When clicking on "bookmarks" the dropdown flashes off and on as do the websites under the various folders. HELP
I have a 64 bit operating system and it was not a problem under the previous version. Is that version available for me to download or is there another solution.
I found this problem was fixed at the same time as fixing my flashing context menus by disabling hardware acceleration.

Since downloading Firefox 4, I am having problems archiving gmail conversations from my inbox view (either one or several conversations) as it says "No Conversations Selected" when I have selected one or several. Also, when I go to enter a new event in google calendar, I have to click the cursor in the box to type the event (it used to let me just start typing) or else it flips out and starts jumping to day view or another month. Does anyone know how to fix either of these?

I have three buttons below my space bar which function, basically like the left-click, right- click buttons on a mouse but the middle button, when held down, should allow me to move the joystick up or down to continuously scroll up or down a page. Now, it doesn't work. This is a function I really like. If I cannot resolve this, how do I remove Firefox 4 and go back to my previous edition of Firefox?
Thanks for the suggestion - i checked and scrolling is activated. Which fits with the fact that it works in every other application apart from firefox. Any otehr ideas?

Since installing Firefox update today, 11/11/2011, when entering secure web sites I no longer have the display of a padlock. I still have Https. I am wondering if the security of these sties is still OK.
The Statusbar is gone and the "lock" with it as of Firefox 4.0. Security information about a web page is shown by the Site Identity Button.<br />
The old padlock could give users a false sense that a site is secure by not supplying all of the information about a site and only showed that there is a secure connection that didn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. The Site Identity Button was introduced in Firefox 3.0 to show more complete "identity" information for HTTPS web pages. <br />

Firefox frequently 'not responding' having auto-installed version 10 yesterday. No previous problems. Have disabled all plugins and uninstalled and then re-installed Firefox several times today. Since installing Firefox 4, if I leave the computer (desktop with a Viewsonic VG1930wm monitor), the monitor will go to blackscreen...not the starfield screensaver. If I move the mouse, the screen will only momentarily go back to the last desktop...and then almost immediately black screen again. I typically have to turn the monitor on and off five or six times...and move the mouse each time, before it will stay open to the desktop. Any ideas?
Standard troubleshooting steps in order are as follows:
Power the iPad off and on.
An iPad reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release.
Restore your iPad with iTunes from your iPad's backup.
Restore your iPad with iTunes as a new iPad or not from your iPad's backup.
If no change after the last step, your iPad has a hardware problem. -

Since installing Mountain Lion i have a problem with Mail. I delete a number of messages from the same person but keep the newest message in my Inbox. I actually delete them from the Trash. The next time i open Mail the deleted messages are back again. Can anybody please help as this is getting annoying. Thanks in Anticipation.
Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
First, empty the Trash.

It should not be a problem, as long as you are careful. Note the delete settings option when uninstalling firefox will delete bookmarks etc for ALL installed versions of firefox.
Firefox attempts to retain the profile information, that include bookmarks etc when updating. It may still be prudent to consider other backup methods not entirely dependent on firefox.
The firefox 4 beta will install by default in a slightly different location, you are then able to run either the current or the beta version of firefox. It is recommended you set up a new profile for the new version of firefox. see

Somewhere around Firefox 29, Firefox changed how Sync accounts work. Please see this article for more information: [[How to update to the new Firefox Sync]]. If you can't do that in Firefox 33, you may want to install Firefox 29 temporarily to do the account change, and then update to Firefox 33. Ever since installing on my 64bit Windows 7 install, Firefox has continually gotten more sluggish as time moves on, hangs for 10-15 secs at a time and just gets worse over time with the updates and everything. It was fast when I first installed, but over the last six mos has slown to a crawl.

Did you create a new profile folder for that beta?<br />
You can see the crash reports in the "Crash Reports" folder in the parent Firefox folder of your profile folder.
