Since iTunes 6 ... Server timed out ... constantly

Well, with the Canada iTMS anyway. And plenty of rebuffering stream.
I think it'd be quicker to walk down to the store and buy a CD. Might this be because of all the videos on there now?

Here are two new bits of information:
I find this Apple site -- in fact, all of Apple's pages and sites -- to be troublesome. I have to click on just about everything twice, because the first time gives me a "page not found" or "document contains no data" message.
The second thing I have found is that Shockwave isn't working on my system. I tried to play a Shockwave game that I like on the Web, and I get a blank page.
Does this happen to you, too?
Scott

  • '408' error server timed out because of added software?

i get a '408' error--server timed out when i try to download from iTunes--this is straight after installing legit rosetta stone software--a windows site mentions this as a possible cause--and the timing points to it--other songs downloaded--but pretty sure it stopped after the software finally got properly installed--any ideas? Thanks.

  • Server Timed Out, Router not detected

Ever since a heavy thunderstorm I have been unable to pick up wireless Internet on any of my wi-fi devices. I'm no longer able to access 192.168.1.1 through my Internet browser, when I tried to ping 192.168.1.1 it says Server Timed Out, and the LinkSys EasyLink Advisor program said my computer was unable to detect my router. Help?

    Marcar,
its much easier for us to help if you give us a little detail. like the model & version of your device.
anyway, a thunderstorm aye?? ake sure that the router's power light is not blinking, if it is reset the router.
    HOW TO RESET A ROUTER:
with router turned on, push on the little reset button on the back of the router (beside the wan/internet port). hold that button for about 30 seconds and then release and then turn the router off. leave it of for 20 seconds.
by then you can access the default IP of the router which is 192.168.1.1 (password: "admin").
BTW: before you reset the router make sure you know how to reconfigure it back again to work with the modem for your internet connection.

  • ITunes connection has timed out - solved on Mac

I have a MacBook Pro, running OS 10.5.8.  I am running iTunes 10.5.  Every time I went to purchase an app thru the iTunes store, on login attempt, I'd receive an error message that the iTunes connection had timed out.
All of the Apple troubleshooting support I checked said to check the connection (duh), check the version of iTunes was current, and for Windows users, the version of IE.  Check check check. Everything was fine.
I finally stumbled on this article first:  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3297
Following the steps as outlined, led to checking the firewall.  Not understanding what step(5) meant "Reduce the restrictions on access in the firewall" because the connections for iTunes were allowed,  I ended up clicking on the Advanced button, and then opening the console log.  In the console log, I found numerous errors from "com.apple.kdcmond" that was attempting to access my computer.  I was concerned it was some vicious attack on the computer, but after a search of "com.apple.kdcmond" found another post complaining of the same error messages that I was receiving.  The clip from below was a response to fix the problem.  I followed the directions.... as it said, my computer name was missing from the field where it belonged.  Entering my hard drive name in the blank field, fixed my iTunes problem.  Hope this helps someone else.
I just had the same problem. I solved it by going to the Sharing System Preference and entering my computer name, which was blank. It had been entered previously, and I'm not sure how it was deleted. At any rate, the error messages went away.

Just wanted to add, when I logged on earlier to post the first question, the message "Connection has timed out" seemed to happen within seconds. This was going from the log in page back to the forum page.
Sometimes, the message does not appear for a minute or so when loading a new page or as before, when going from one page to another within a domain.
This time, the forum page loaded without a problem and no error between log in page and returning to forum.
Therefore, this is an intermittent problem.
    Suggestions?

My mail is getting stuck in outbox, but I am receiving mail just fine. Message says 'server timed out'. What can i do to fix this?

    Hello Naila1,
It sounds like you are unable to send emails, as they go straight to the outbox, but you can get the emails without issue. I recommend using the Connection Doctor to help you troubleshoot what is happening with the following article:

The Firefox versions which come with many Linux distros have the default Mozilla Firefox updater disabled and use the distros built-in updater.

  • Server timed out on part 993

My wife and I have an iMac. I am the administrator. Her mail works just fine. I can neither mail out nor receive messages. In the Doctor window on my side is says server timed out on port 993. I have repaired permissions and reset the preferences and nothing has helped. Please help. I have a Leopard install disk if that would take care of my problem. Things look right under accounts on my side.
    Thank you,
    Carl

Do either you or your wife have any other accounts which use port 993? If not (ie, this is the only account which uses it, and it's not working for you), I'd suspect that your ISP may be blocking that port, which can happen.
Non-SSL email sends your username and password "in the clear" to your mail server. This means that, in theory, a man-in-the-middle attack (someone listening in on your traffic) could intercept and find your login information. SSL encrypts the login between you and your server. You should use SSL whenever your mail providers and ISP allow it.

  • I'm using Entourage 2008 v 12.3.5 and lost ability to SEND.  Tried many small email tests.  Server continues to leave time out message.  "An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic.

I'm using Entourage 2008 v 12.3.5 and lost ability to SEND.  Tried many small email tests.  Server continues to leave time out message.  "An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic."  Comcast tells me server is not down all other network activity is fine.  WHat's up with this?

Starting earlier today, this also became my problem - can receive but not send in Entourage. The account settings are correct in Entourage - I even created a new account.  My Mac running 10.7.5 won't read the original Office : MAC 2008 disk, so I can't do a fix or reinstall from the disk.
This is not an issue if I log onto the Comcast site.
And so, I started using Mail but, unlike Entourage, Mail won't import my Entourage info.
    Argh...  :-(

  • Application Server Timed Out (-11) with Cmd=u0092log_offu0092&sap-sessioncmd=cancel

    Hi All,
We are using a URL with Cmd=’log_off’&sap-sessioncmd=cancel&cmd=ldoc&template_id=myTemplate.
Now whenever I click on a particular link which calls this URL and then immediately click on another link i get the following error:
400 Session Timed out. Please log in again
    Application Server Timed Out (-11)
I can't avoid using log_off as E-Portal is not doing automatic session management and thus i need to free memory every time i navigate from one template to the other.
I've seen all the threads relaing to this, but I didn't find anything similar to my situation.
    Any thoughts??

  • Can not restore iPod, iTunes Network Connection Timed Out

Cannotrestore iPod, iTunes Network Connection Timed Out. I have updated my iTunesversion, but still can’t perform iPod restore. I turned off my firewall, tried numeroustimes for the past 3 days

Did you also disable your antivirus?  Some users reported that they had to configure their security software to no automatically startup on boot up and then reboot their computer.  Just turning off/disabling without rebooting did not work.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
