Since Mac update, LR 5 partially hangs in F-full screen view

Since mac update, LR 5 hangs in F-full screen mode. Cannot go to Grid, Loupe or any other functions. Other functions work just fine. Called Apple support, they suggested a reset whihc I di but no luck. Any suggestions? or new udate for LR5?

I have exactly the same issue.  Essentially I can now longer do Fullscreen preview without getting stuck in a loop.  Quiting the program will solve the problem until you press the F key again.  Adobe please come up with a fix for this as I and others have lost the Fullscreen preview function.

    Hi Mary,
    I don't remember those arrows in 10.6, only 10.7 & up!?
    I have 10.6.8, as you do. To make your Safari full screen, make sure you have the left hand side of your safari page moved  all the way to the left.  Then move your cursor to the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER of the safari page, and simply drag your page towards the lower right hand corner of the screen. NOTE: you will see a series of lines on the bottom right corner of the page, indicating where to place you cursor arrow.

  • The Full Screen icon does not appear in Firefox 16.0.2 on Mac OS 10.6.8, and command+shift+F does not close the full screen view.

    I accidentally entered full screen view and was unable to exit. The Firefox Help article at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-make-firefox-and-websites-go-full-screen?esab=a&s=full+screen+mac&r=0&as=s says I should see a Full Screen View icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Firefox window. That icon not there. I cannot find it. It does not appear in either the full screen or non-full screen views.
    Further, the Help article's advice to exit full screen view by using the keyboard sequence command+shift+F does not work. I had to unplug my iMac and reboot. Firefox then opened in non-full screen view.
    Ideally, hitting the Escape key would cause Firefox to exit full screen view.

    I forgot one detail. This happened while I was having trouble seeing the mouse cursor (I use Apple's Magic Mouse). It had disappeared briefly. I had to drag the cursor out of the Firefox Window for it to reappear. I accidentally entered full screen view while the cursor was not visible.

  • How to Remove maximize/minimize/close top-bar in full-screen view [MAC]?

    Hi.
    My Q. is pretty much as the title implies.
    It's a small thing, and maybe kind of trivial,
    but I'd like to know how to get rid of the maximize/minimize/close top-bar in full-screen view in Adobe Reader on the Mac.
    I am definitely in fullscreen view [I hit command+L], just so you know,
    but I still have that top grey bar showing with the maximize/minimize/close buttons [the red, yellow, and green].
    As I said, kind of a trivial concern, but I'd like to know how to hide that in full-screen mode.
    I tried searching around a few places for an answer, but there is nothing too obvious.
    I can't find anything in the full-screen preferences of reader either. Maybe I'm missing something...
    Thanks!

    Version 11.0 , so I guess that is the most recent?
    I think this is an application-specific problem too, because I don't encounter this in full-screen mode with other applications.

    Along with Steve comments, also see this ARTICLE, for some of the possible reasons - all of which boil down to a mis-match between the Source Footage and the Project Preset.

  • Don't have full screen view since changing to 19 inch screen. Have about 2 inches of white space on each side. Changed to compact view and then back. No change

    I got a larger monitor and flat screen (19 inch). Since changing I am not getting a full screen view of home page. I changed the page options to compact view and then back, but no change. I've got about 2 inches of white on each side of the home page view.

    When going to a website the picture was small - tried changing the Zoom size , tried Zoom Reset - the text did change size but the layout distorts - found under View - Zoom - Zoom Text Only was checked --- Removed this check mark and the website returned to normal size and Zoom worked normally again. I am 99.9999% sure I did NOT check this myself and there is no one else on the computer to cause it. Maybe this will help.

  • HP 3055 not printing since Mac update to 10.8.5

    I recently updated software to the Mac 10.8.5. I have not gone to the Yosemite yet. But since the update I can no longer print etc. It shows the printer but shows it offline and will not take it on line. It appears there are no drivers for that version available. So I need help o get the system to print invoices for business. If I upgrade to Yosemite it doesn't appear there are any drivers for that either. Suggestions?

    Hi Grilli,
    I went to HP's website and found a link for the drivers and software to connect to your MAC OS X 10.8.
    Here is that LINK.
    Let me know if this solves your problem.

  • Full Screen view on Mac

    I am running Lightroom 1.1 on a Mac, OS 10.4.10. When LR is running, it fills the entire screen - and does mot show the traditional window with buttons for minimizing. I seem to remember that this was what LR looked like when I began using it, and I don't know what I did to change it, but I know that for a while I LR displayed in a traditional, re-sizable, window. Now, since I upgraded to v. 1.1, I am back to a full screen that can not be re-sized. Any thoughts on what I can do? Thanks

    I just mess with Tab, F and L to get what I want! There are a lot of great shortcuts, and info in the FAQs, too.

  • Mac Mini does not display HDMI 1080i in full screen on TVs

    I have a 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo Mac Mini that I am having problems getting video to display 1920 x 1080 @60hz in full screen on my Sony XBR 1080p HDTV. The Mac is connected to the TV via a DVI to HDMI cable. The Mac recognizes the display as a "Sony TV"
    When the Mac first starts up the entire TV screen is filled with the grey Apple startup screen, but when the Mac fully boots and gets to the desktop, the screen has shrunk so that it is slightly off the screen on the left, and has about 80% of the screen filled horizontally and about 90% vertically. I have tried all combinations of the overscan selection on the Mac and on the TV, but they make the image about 120% of the size of the screen so the top, bottom and sides are cut off.
    I have tried 2 different 1080p HDTVs with the Mac Mini and get the same results for both TVs.
    Now here is the thing that makes me believe that there is something funky with the Mac Mini. If I take my 2.16 GHz Macbook Pro 15" Intel Core 2 Duo and plug its DVI display port into the Same DVI to HDMI cable that is connected to the same Sony TV, it displays full screen with no problems.
    What can I do to make my Mac Mini display properly?

    Thanks for the ideas.
    I did as you suggested, but the only 1920x1080 selection shown was one for "NTSC" which I would think is interlaced. This was after a reboot. All of available resolutions are labeled with "NTSC". When I look at the screen resolutions on my MacBook Pro when it is connected to the TV, they are labeled as "Interlaced". On both computers there are no progressive scan selections.
    As an interesting note, regardless of what display resolution I select, the display area on the TV screen remains the same which is about 80% of the screen offset to the left. When "overscan" is selected, this mode enlarges to image to about 120% of the screen and cuts off the menu bar etc. However the MacBook fills about 98% of the screen in "normal" mode.
    If there was a less aggressive Overscan mode or more aggressive normal mode, that would fix the issue.
    Any other ideas on how to adjust this?

  • Why i can't full screen my apps in my display?? with the mac os x lion, why i can't full screen my apps in my display?? with the mac os x lion

    i have a cinema display and i just downloaded the new mac os x lion. the problem is that i can't use full screen with my display, when i push the full screen button the app moves to my macbook, but i want it to stay at the display.

    It appears that the full-screen display will only work on the display that has the menu bar.
    You can switch the menu bar to your external display by going to Solid Apple -> System Preferences -> Displays, then Arrangement.
    Grab the menu bar and drop it on the icon representing your external display.
    When you full screen an app it should then full screen on the Cinema display.
    I wish it would just full screen on the display the window is on, but that is evidently not the way it was designed to work.

  • Radeon 5770 in 2008 Mac Pro, won't boot - hangs at Apple logo screen??

    Okay, so I had the Radeon 2600 XT and it kept giving me issues with pink & white checkerboards and freezing, then eventually wouldn't let me boot past the white/grey apple logo loading screen. Now, today I installed Apple Radeon 5770, just installed, got the MiniDisplay to DVI-D adapter and everything, but it STILL won't let me get past the white/grey apple screen! I can't seem to get the DVD drive to open either. Both of my hard drives have been working fine and I've even swapped slots and i still can't get past the white screen! What gives? I just dropped over $300 for this, so you can imagine my dismay and frustration. Can someone please help me with some ideas? Would be GREATLY appreciated.
    It's a 2008 Mac Pro dual 2.8Ghz (3,1), running 10.5.8
    M

    Yeah, ok thanks for the response about the screen! So, I don't have 10.6.5. I'm running 10.5.8, which the Radeon 5770 says it needs 10.6.5, but -finally- I got my computer to boot up with the 5770 in it, on 10.5. Al I did was hold OPTION+ Power button and it took me to a blue screen, then to my 500 GB new HD. I then switched over to my other username on Macintosh HD (drive that came with the MacPro) and OSX loads fine! I can tell that it still needs to be on 10.6.5, so I can download the drivers because the text is ever so slightly fuzzy, and the color isn't tuned well (too much contrast) and images take a little longer to load/ are a bit laggy. I'm just glad it's up and running! No more pink transparent checkerboards, and loud *** fan sounds! I am wondering though, what was causing this hold up? Is it only booting up because I have the 10.5.2 install disc in the SuperDrive? I almost don't want to take it out and try without it, after the trouble i've had, just in case lol.  I'd like to have an idea as to why, because I don't want to mask a problem, and have it eventually turn into a catastrophe.

  • Here is how to enable full screen mode for AIR Mac Desktop Apps

    I just discovered that with a very simple native extension method, I can enable full screen mode for AIR Mac Desktop Applications.
    This gets you the full screen icon in the top right, and it works perfectly with no changes to my code. (Obviously only works on Lion and above, since this is a Lion feature)
    Enjoy.
    Here's the code:
        FREObject _EnableFullScreenMode(FREContext ctx, void* functionData, uint32_t argc, FREObject argv[])
            //We should be okay to do this, even on 10.6, according to this post:
            //http://www.cocoabuilder.com/archive/cocoa/311124-implementing-full-screen-for-10-7-but-app-should-also-run-on-10-6.html
            //We can't use [NSApp mainWindow] - didn't appear to work
            //This seems to though:
            NSArray * allWindows = [NSApp windows];
            if (allWindows.count > 0)
                NSWindow *mainWindow = [allWindows  objectAtIndex: 0];
                NSWindowCollectionBehavior behavior = [mainWindow collectionBehavior];
                behavior |= NSWindowCollectionBehaviorFullScreenPrimary;
                [mainWindow setCollectionBehavior:behavior];
            //TODO: Return a boolean instead depending on if we found the main window
            return NULL;

    Press Control + Command + F on your keyboard to enter or exit full screen mode.

  • Just want to ask about the full screen icon that used to be on the play bar but seems to have disappeared since upgrade to mountain lion, any way to get it back?

    Since upgrading to mountain lion I've noticed the full screen icon which used to be on the playback bar in quicktime has gone, I know you can go to the menus to make it full screen but if you're watching something online like with apple trailers I can't seem to make them fullscreen anymore, is it me or have they just taken this option away now?

    I've been playing the trailers in my browser and the full screen option has gone for me,
    As already stated, the icon was replaced by the "Share" pop-up menu icon in the same location.
    and the command-f keys don't work either when I'm playing in a browser and it's truly only been since I upgraded to mountain lion.
    Strange! It works for me. Here is a link to a screen recording of me wayching a trailer in Safari and later watching a trailer download. In both cases the trailer could be expsnded for full screen viewing and then reduced back to the size of the original 720p player display screen. If you can't do this then you may have a player problem also.
    http://downloads.walker4.me/downloads/Temporary_files/ScreenFlow_6.mov
    Why did apple make these changes when they worked perfectly the old way, I mean if it ain't broke don't fix it!
    Only Apple whould know for sure but my guess would be that other users may have requested the "Share" pop-up more. Makes no difference to me because I normally use the key shortcuts anyway.
