I cannot send out emails from my Ipad or my Iphone
message says, cannot send mail
a copy has been placed in your outbox. the recipient " " was rejected by the server, I get this message on both ipad and iphone

Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I had a power failure 2 days ago, my computer is running again, but now I cannot send email from my iPad using Cox or my gmail account. I am receiving mail in my Cox account but not my gmail account.It was working fine until the power failure. It keeps telling me, the user name or password for Gmail is incorrect. Cannot send email from my IPad Air
I suddenly cannot send email from my IPad Air. Keep getting message that my email recipient
was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. Don't understand what this means as I have been able to send email before.Paula, in most cases this message appears when you are sending email from a ISP server not in the pop settings and SMTP settings in your email program.
In example if I send out email from my iPad I must be on my own isp's server to send. I have roadrunner but if I send email out using say Verizon's email server I will get a reject notice.
You did not say what email program you are using but if it is hotmail or yahoo or your isp's email in two of these email accounts there are stand alone apps which work much better than the stock email program on the phone.
If you are using road runner or another ISP email you must get the proper Pop3 (incoming) server settings and SMTP (send) settings from your ISP
You can then just go into the Settings-Mail, Contacts and Calendar section and click on the email account and change to the proper settings from your ISP.
You could delete as you were told but why bother when only the sending and receiving settings need to be entered.
If the settings are correct, on an iPhone it tests the settings. If correct send an email. If incorrect you will need the proper settings from your ISP.
It is actually very easy to do.

Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional. -

What is your iOS version? Try deleting the account in Mail and setting it up again. Repeat in second device if successful/necessary.

I have a new ipad2 and a new iPhone 4s. I cannot send email from either. I had an iPad and an android before with no email issues. Phone is Sprint and ipad is Verizon. I have tried using my wifi and have tried turning wifi off. Nothing works. Please help.

Cannot send emails from my ipad air - recipient server rejected
I am using plus net and have entered all the settings into the Ipad using the IMAP settings detailed by Plus Net. I receive emails but cannot send as the message 'the recipients server rejected the message.........' comes up. I have tried pop settings as well to the same effect.

I have not been able to send email from my computer for several months. I have called my ISP numerous times and they can't or won't help. Out of the blue something will send that has been in my outbox for days. A new email address worked briefly but now does not. What is happening here??? Can this be fixed and how?
The red dots mean that you were unable to connect to the server, either because it's unreachable or because your credentials were rejected. The daisy wheels mean that the server is taking too long to respond.
Click the Show Detail button in the window, then click Check Again. Post the details shown. -
My email won't send from my iPad. It says the server rejects it almost immediately I press the send email button, although there is nothing wrong with my email account when sending from my laptop or iphone. Thank you for your help . The account used to work perfectly until recently, after receiving support from the provider, I deleted the account now I am trying to set the account again.
After putting in the first details (name, email, description) Cannot send mail the password or username for "mail.bigpond.com" is incorrect. I would expect this because the information I put in is not for Bigpond. So I press ok & I change the outgoing server (this is the one that is incorrectly labelled bigpond) to aapt, then I press save.
Then it says "verifying" but comes up with Cannot connect using SSL do you want to try setting up the account without SSL. I press yes.
Then I get the message "the POP server "mail.aapt.net.au" is not responding. Check your network connection & that you entered the correct information in the incoming mail server. (I ahve already checked this with aapt & it is correct. -
This just started out of the blue today. I get a message saying email cannot be sent.
I have done everything in the link TechMastr suggested. I can not send a hotmail message from any of my I-devices. I thought it might be just my accounts, but tried my husband's device as well. This includes things not connected to wi-fi and on 3G. Could it be hotmail? It is so frustrating.
