Since the last update, my browser defaults to Yahoo even though I am searching through Google. I HATE!!! this!!!!! How can I get this to stop??

Since the last big firefox update, nearly every time I click on a link or search result, a Yahoo page saying there was a problem pops up. This has never happened before, and the Yahoo page comes up even when I search using Google. This is incredibly annoying, both because I do not want to use Yahoo and also because there is an error message about 75% of the time, which is highly unusual. Is there a setting I can change to make this stop?

Like many others I have been reading about online I am having the same error. I tried the fix listed above and simply wasted 30 minutes of my time. I scheduled a time for Apple to call and help me through this and their solution was for me to call Microsoft for some reason?!! iTunes made me upgrade then stopped working - I really don't see how this is a Microsoft problem??

If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Since the last update to Firefox, I have had crashes non stop about every ten minutes or so, with very typical use. The update SUCKS and is crashing computers. I am SURE I am not the only one. You need to enable the display for metadata in Browser and Viewer.
There are several places how whereyou can turn it on; for example, from the main menu bar "view" menu:
View > Metadata display > Viewer > Show Metadata
View > Metadata display > Browser > Show Metadata
You need to configure the Metadata shown in these overlays.
Use
View > Metadata display > Browser > Customize
Enable all tags you want in the left column of this panel. The "keyword" are enabled in the "Content" section of the left colum.

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. Problems since the last update and unable to remove program from comp...

I haven't been able to run itunes since the last update. Anytime I try to run it, it gives me the preparing to install window and then a little while afterwards, says that the folder program files contains an invalid character. I tried moving the program out of the that folder even as far as to the desktop as the help topic suggested. I have tried removing the program from the comp, but it won't let me do that because of the same reason it won't run itunes. I am at a loss of what to do. I can't seem to be able to repair it nor can I remove it and reinstall. I really don't want a defunct program just eating space on my comp. Please help.

Can you install any program? If so can you install the MS cleanup utility?

Struggling since the last update

I've not had any problems with Safari since purchasing my IMac = in fact in fact it's my browser of choice. But since the last update it's horribly laggy - as I'm typing this message, the text isn't appearing until a second after I typed it. I click something and it's a second before it actually clicks... you get the idea. I don't have any addons installed in Safari, it's just a basic installation and I had no issues at all before the latest update.
Frustrating.

First, Safari 4 requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 to run, so you need to update your profile.
Did you use Disk Utility to Repair Disk Permissions before and after you installed Safari 4 (or anything else)? If not, quit all applications and do that now.
Then, try this:
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and delete the contents of that folder, then use Get Info to Lock the folder.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari and delete the contents of that folder, then use Get Info to Lock the folder.
Go to ~/Library/Safari and delete these files:
History.plist
LastSession.plist
Restart Safari and see if things improve.

How do I unmerge my husband's phone from mine since the last update?

My husband and I use my iCloud account on our iPhones, but since the last update the messages are merged. How do I unmerge them? I am now getting copied on the texts getting sent to his phone and if I text him it shows up on my phone.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
