Since the last update of iTunes genius will not work it updates but nothing else
since Itunes last update I can not get genius to work, it updates but when i click on start genius nothing happens, i am verily new to this so i am not sure what to do, it did work great before this update. i now have a new ipad mini and would love to have this working.

I will get a pop-up message that I need to update Firefox. I click the button, and it says it is 'connecting to the update server'. It never connects, because nothing else happens. Even after an hour or two, it is still 'connecting to the update server'. If it matters, I am on a Mac.
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
* Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data. -
After downloading the latest Windows updates I found that I could not play videos on YouTube or at other sites. Switching to other browsers I found I could play those same videos now without any problem. So I did a System Restore to determine if the Windows updates had affected video play using Firefox. The restore point was set to the day before the Windows download occurred. After System Restore was completed I could now play videos using the Firefox browser.
To make sure that the Windows update was the problem, I again downloaded the newest Windows Updates and once again could not play videos on any site using Firefox. System restore was used to again reset my computer to the day before and once again the videos would ow play in the Firefox browser.Actually your reply took me in another direction and I found this on the Adobe site:
The RealPlayer extension for Firefox, Downloading & Recording, has compatibility issues with Flash Player 11.3. If RealPlayer is installed Flash Player content does not appear. YouTube provides an error message when you try to watch a video.
As a workaround, do the following:
Start RealPlayer.
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper-left corner and select Preferences.
Select Download & Recording in the left menu and deselect Enable Web Download & Recording for These Installed Browsers option.
Click OK and restart Mozilla Firefox.
Once I followed this I could now again play videos in Firefox. -
ITunes 10 will not open / Reinstalled etc but Nothing Happens!!!
I was asked to upgrade in iTunes 9.2 yesterday. Update downloaded and installed ok but the program didn't open, so i tried a few things then started on reinsatlling again and again...
I've reinstalled many times, removed everything with ccleaner,cleaned registry deleted everything i could find to do with apple but still same problem after install hit the iTunes icon computer thinks about it but doesn't open, nothing at all happens, I've had the software agreement a few times but not always.
Tried extracing .exe and installing one by one in certain order as mentioned in another thread, I've created new profiles, tried with bb disconnected firewall, anti-virus etc disabled - same thing!!
Tried going back to 9.2 as still have the exe after recent os install but after it installs when try to open the app i get message saying cant open because of newer "iTunes Library.itl" - I even tried searching for that to delete but its the itunes10 exe
I only want to upgrade my phone os to 4.1
Itunes really is a crap, never liked it just gotta use it for my phone...
anyway...

Before i switched off, I actually reinstalled again... through the extract method but i installed on a new profile, installing itunes .msi last but still didn't work anyway logged off then back on my main profile still didn't work!
Anyway checked appple stuff in firewall(Esnet SS4)again then changed bonjour permissions but also didn't work at the time, seriouly p1ssed me off this whole thing, any how went for dinner came back and hello 10.... all this crap just to update my phone! this *****.
I personally think it's something to do with the bonjour service, i'm probably wrong but check your firewall/security settins etc allow everything to do with apple lol.. I was also offline when it opened before i had chance to connect bb.

Are you following these instructions.
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore. -

Beacuse it does not support the new software. 2nd gen can only go to 4.2.1

I can not make or receive calls! other functions itself. Internet, sms, whatsapp work. I restored as new iphone from the phone and from itunes and still not working.

I am starting to affiliate market and need a donotfollow plug in or add on and the one available on your site will not work with version 4 of Firefox. Is there another place I can go or do you have another add on that will perform the same function as the do not follow you have on your site for the previous versions of Firefox? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OK - to answer my own question, Apple recommend 8.2.1, but you can install 9.1.1 and it will run on a G3. Very slowly. Looks like this is the only option. Get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1036. You need OSX 10.4.11 or later though....

If you installed some kind of software to take part in the conference, remove it.
Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and except as stated in this comment, I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.
