I purchased Dreamweaver CS6, installed ok then registered it on-line. Computer
running slow, malware sorted it out, since I re installed CS6, it asks for
registration, puts up 30 day trial,Flags up errors java.Hi Jon,
Dreamweaver the following errors show up in the JavaScript.Log. I deleted the .dat file but no difference. I am not so confident in how to delete the preference file. I have been following the instructions (see link)
https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver-cs6-cc.html
Windows:
~Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 (folder)
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 (registry entry)
When Dreamweaver launches, it creates new preferences files and folder.
How do I get rid of these errors?

Try renaming the configuration folder that holds the .dat file first, before attempting to restore preferences.
Many times that will take care of it without having to do all the work required after a pref-reset.

How come, ever since I installed Mountain Lion, my computer is slower???
First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive may be failing.
Launch the usual set of applications you use when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. What approximate values are shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec?
Step 2
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way as above. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Post the 50 or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out before posting. -

Ever since installing iCloud and Lion my computer is slow or freezes. The color wheel comes on and My work stops. I have only a small window of time where my computers will function normally during the day. I know many others that have the same problem. I'll get 20-30 minutes of work done and then a sync or something comes on, the color wheel of death shows up, and my productivity is shot. I have to shut the computer down the hard way! when it comes back up, it is still either frozen or slow. I've checked in at the genius bar and all they say is that there have been some problems that Apple is trying to fix. It effects Mail, Contacts, Safari, Calendar....yeah, pretty much everything. My iPhone and iPad are not effected as much so I end up doing what I can with them. I've seen the blogs out there and understand that many have the same problem. I have been waiting to read about a fix but I have found nothing! Any ideas?
Not enough free space on the startup disk can slow the system down.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
For startup issues... open System Preferences > Users & Groups - Login Items. Delete any apps listed there then restart your mac.
And disable the Lion "resume" feature.
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
And Spotlight may be indexing... you can turn that off > Turning Off Spotlight | Mac Tricks And Tips -

why does Mountain Lion make my computer run slow and my Safari too? Please help!
The problem is probably not mountain lion. It works just fine on my computer. And a few million others.
If your computer is having problems, you can try to fix it with some simple troubleshooting maneuvers.

Serious slowdowns, if not due to a hard drive failing, are caused by unnecessary third-party software. Please answer the following questions:
1) Are you running any anti-virus/internet security applications?
2) Are you running any "cleaning/tune-up/optimizations" applications?
3) Any peer-to-peer or torrent downloading software?
4) Any third-party disk backup software that came bundled with an external hard drive?
5) Any online backup scheme other than iCloud (Carbonite; GoogleDrive; MS One Drive)? -

Why is my computer running slow since upgrading to os x yosemite?
I upgraded my MacBook 13" Aluminum (2008) to OS X Yosemite earlier this year, and ever since, my computer has not been as fast as it was on OS X Mountain Lion or before. It ran fine then, but my speed has fallen harshly. Is there a way to make my computer operate faster?

Unless you've added RAM since you bought the computer, you could probably increase the performance by adding RAM. The 2 places I’ve seen recommended most to buy reliable RAM are below. I have purchased RAM several times from Other World Computing and have always been very satisfied with the product and service. They have on-line instructions on how to replace the RAM. OWC has also tested RAM above what Apple states is the maximum. I now have 6GB installed on a machine supposedly limited to 4 GB.

So my computer seems to be running slower, doing anything at all after I installed the newest OS, Maverick. Anyone have an idea as to why that might be? What can I do to make it better?

Hard drive upgrade making my computer run slow and TERRIBLE
So I got a seagate Momentus 7200 500GB an after many tries it slows down my laptop ALOT. I got it so I can install Starcraft 2 (I filled my other 250 with alot of music and video editting software)....first time installing Starcraft 2 it keeps crashing the install...but then noticed it slows down ALOT (the loading rainbow comes up too much randomly)....here are a few things I've tried with this HD
I've tried cloning using the Dosk Utility and Carbpn Copy...the last thing I tried was a fresh install of 10.6....still runs slow and still can't install Starcraft 2 lol (keep in mind, I went back and made room on my old drive and installed it successfully and MUCH quicker since it would stop halfway through installation)If you have a mid-2009 MBP, I encountered the exact same problem. It turns out that there's a much discussed issue relating to the SATA1 chipset not working/not working well with SATA2 drives.
There are many posts regarding the problem in both Apple Discussions and the Macrumors forums.
Downgrading the EFI 1.7 update to 1.6 fixed the problem for me although XBench 1.7 still reports low disk rates with small block reads/writes. The system feels faster when I'm using it so I stuck with the drive. I followed the instructions here
http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=8414998&postcount=305
Other people have reported success by jumpering the drive to 1.5gbs mode but my drive didn't have a jumper. -
I purchased Mountain Lion around a month and a half ago. Since then, my computer has slowed considerably--like i could go get a cup of coffee while the page loads like old-school. Does anyone out there have any suggestions how to fix this?
How much RAM? How much available disk space?
Have you tried starting in Safe Mode and see if the problem still occurs?
Restart holding the "shift" key.
(Expect it to take longer to start this way because it runs a directory check first.)
If this works look in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login items and delete any third party login items (-), you can always add them back with the (+). Also look in /Library/Startup Items. Nothing is put in that folder by default, so anything in there is yours. -
Mavericks is making my computer run slow
Since I updated my Mavericks my computer is running slow. I have done all the tricks. I brought it into the mac store and they said I have 55% free memory but I get the spinning wheel of death when i try typing it takes forever. Programs dont open or they take forever. Never had this issue until I updated Mavericks. I can applejack, did the shift control option hold power and the option command-p-r hold power. repaired disks, cleaned out system caches, re-installed osx?? What is the next step. apple said "well it may just be mavericks sorry! You may just need to buy more memory even though it says you have plenty." I'll type a few words and the spinny wheel comes up and the words don't appear on the page until about 30 seconds later. Any tricks, advice etc. Tey told me to go to this website http://www.crucial.com and to install two 4 gb in the slots instead of the 2 gb I have in each slot. For stroage, under about this mac it says i have 163.18 out of GB of 319.21 GB free. Thank you so much

You might want to try a safe boot as explained at OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? - Apple Support
I would strongly suggest you backup everything now while you still can see as how you still don't have Time Machine turned on yet. -
Computer running slow when iTunes is converting
It hasn't always happened, but just recently when I convert a CD into iTunes my computer stutters, i.e. the mouse pointer skips, songs skip eratically if they're playing and the CPU usage goes through the roof. What's wrong, and what can I do?
I know it isnt the answer you want, but there is nothing 'wrong'. You are very likely to see this on 'modest' powered computers. Ripping and converting an entire CD is a computing intensive process, and unless you have a very high powered high end machine, you will probably see symptoms of the machine working it's tail off to complete the job as you described.
I'd first reccomend closing any programs you arent actually using (like the 10 thousand things most people usually have running down there where the clock is). This will free up some processing power to help the conversion go faster, and to leave a litle extra for what ever else it is you are working on.
If you are up for it, you might want to do some research into ways you want to upgrade the computer. I hate to reccoment this to anyone, but you will be suprised at the boost you can get out of something like putting in some memory. The obvious tradeoff there is that they dont usually give away memory for free.
Or plan a CD rip for a better time. Drop in the disk when you are going to be away from the computer for a while, or going to bed, and when you get up, it will be done.
