Since todays updates to PS CC and LR5.4 LR's "Edit in" options dimmed in both the Photo -> Edit in ... menu and the contextual menu. I've tried tossing the Photoshop.plist and relaunching Photoshop CC then relaunching LR also rebooting machine. LR preferences for external editor recognize Photoshop CC and do not allow a change to primary editor. Any tips, hints, or way to go back to LR 5.3? I'm on a deadline and this is a real time suck to manually export, edit, reimport... next photo, repeat...

Okay, so after all of that, the issue is that I have Smart Previews activated so I can edit within LR fine but any option to Edit in... anything else is grayed out. That makes sense, but there really should be a dialog reminding us ideally with an option to located/connect the actual images.

Here the way to do it, for both, or for only one Go into your settings, Messages and turn on iMessage. It will then send messages that are iMessages to both your iPad and iPhone. You can also turn off this feature on the iPad if you do not want to receive messages on the iPad.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Flash crashing since Flash update to 11.5 and Firefox update to 17.

About 4 days ago, Adobe Flash Player updated to 11.5 and started crashing multiple times a day. So when Firefox updated to 17 today, I immediately uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled the new versions in hope that the problems would be fixed. When that wasn't the case, I followed all the steps for Flash 11.3 and nothing has worked. This is only happening in Firefox. Flash works fine in Google Chrome and in Internet Explorer. My school's primary requirement is that I use Firefox with Flash to do my schoolwork. This is an issue if I have to restart Firefox multiple times during my session. 25% of all Flash crashes also crash Firefox. I need help soon.

Has ANYBODY been able to contact Adobe and tell them that the latest version of Flash Players is ****** and to come up with a different version?

How do I add a calendar entry since the update, I click on the date I want but the option to 'add event' has now gone?

Since I updated my phone I now cant seem to add an event on my calendar.
If there is already one in the calendar I can amend that but I do not have the option to start a new one on a different date.

Try to tap and hold for a couple of seconds in the day view, until you see a Green block appear. Once you see just let go anf you will see that you have an option to edit your event.

Since iOS8 update on 2 iPhones and iPad, they no longer connect wirelessly to OSX iTunes

Prior to updating my 2 iPhone 5 and iPad2 to iOS 8, they no longer appear wirelessly in iTunes on my Mac - they used to do this, which enabled the shifting of music etc so much easier. They do show in the sidebar as devices if connected by cable but this is a pain.
They are all backing up by WiFi.
Have I missed something or has this option been removed?
I'd be grateful for any advice.

WiFi sync does not work in iOS 8. I've filed a bug report with Apple.
My devices will show up in iTunes immediately after a device reboot, but within 24 hours, WiFi syncing is broken again and they no longer show up.

Problem Occurs when rendering the final output for the Medi Encoder and the GPU issue when I open a new project that used to use Mercury
I also cannot seem to find the file within Premier Pro for "supported Cards" - I had this issue before and I just added my card to this list, this list seems to be missing.

Mini Man, I'm glad to read you found a solution to your issue, but I don't know if your solution is going to be mine as well.
For starters, I do not have the new Apple TV - at least, not yet. I have ordered one, but it will not be delivered until some time next week (sneering glance at Steve & Co. for abandoning that platform rather than making it AirPlay compatible).
But that is not really my issue: my issue is that my two Airport Express units do NOT show up in the iPhone, though the DO show up on my iPad. This tells me they have been properly configured (both units have names, and are connected to the house network), so there must still be something missing from the equation.
And, judging from the response of a few others who have chimed in here, I think it's save to say that the experience is not altogether uncommon.
I'm surprised nobody has come back with a more direct solution to the common issue. I may have to call AppleCare someday this week...

Since Safari update, ichat, itunes, safari and update don't work.

I've got a weird one . . .
I ran the software update this morning for the new Safari, as well as iTunes. At the end of the download, I got an error message saying iTunes worked, but the Safari update was not successful. It then made me restart. After restart, software update refuses to open, as do Safari, mail, iChat, and iTunes. Third party programs run fine, as do iCal, iPhoto, etc. Firefox works fine. I downloaded the Safari update package off Apple's site via Firefox, but the package "unexpectedly quits." I'm thinking the failed update screwed everything up, but if I can't open a package installer OR the software update program, how the heck am I supposed to fix it?

So the update killed iChat, Mail, itunes, safari, dictionary any apple installer, software update, as well as programs like cocktail, onyx and many others too numerous to name here.
My update didn't have an error message.
Here is what I have done:
Dumped all the prefs, tried to find corrupted fonts=none, cleaned font cache, repaired permissions (I always do this before I install any apple stuff), repaired disk, did that from the main drive and from a laptop with the G5 as a target disk. Made new users=nothing.
Started in safe mode and used terminal to fsk the HD.
NOw I will try to install safari from the laptop to see if safari is the rascal.
Disappointed in the whole thing, basically I am stuck with no mail, no apple Tv, and although there are work arounds, this is not what I need, Thanks Apple!

Framerate issues since update to 4.4 and 4.4.2

I have a large library of movies that I stream to my Apple TV. Since the updates to 4.4 and 4.4.2 the framerate seems to be quite jumpy. Not unwatchable but noticeable, especially on fast moving scenes.
I have tested home sharing on the iPad and iPhone with the same movies and they are fine. All was fine prior to the update too. Does anyone have any idea why this may be? Possible fix?

I have not seen the jumpiness you refer to on my library of 600 films. However as these movies were not purchased throught iTunes then the AC3 5.1 surround sound although visible as an option does not play. Funnily enough with an Itunes purchased tv show the AC3 5.1 sound pays fine.
Is this coincidence or part of some master plan to make you buy from iTunes......

i usually sync photos from Aperture on MacBook Pro to iPhone 5 and iPad
using iTunes (all latest updates) . Sync worked perfectly
but
since last update of OS X and migration from aperture to new "PHOTOS"
icloud turned off, sync won't put any photos onto devices
I have restored both devices , leaving sync photos option off(to delete any previous photos)
then try to sync photos and nothing happens
i I can sync folders but that isn't how I want it??
