Since update, ipad has probs with contacts and mail! Doesn t work

I can t open contacts! Try send email, the program closes suddenly. Same with contacts! Does somebody know the problem? The problem persists since update to ios5?, thx for help

I cant say mine ever did that after ios 5..
the only problems i noticed was the rapid battery drain..and when id go into my calender appoitments they would disappear..i had to exit and re-enter the callender app to make them appear again.
Have u done a hard reset by holding down the home & sleep button for more than 15 secs ??
Also ios 5.0.1 is out..have u updated to that..it could help correct ur issues ur having at the moment.

Since i'm having probs with ios6 and Safari (Autofill and loss of Wi Fi), would the Atomic browser be worth a try? trouble is, I'm a bit of a 'newbie' when it comes to the 'clever' stuff, so need a bit of expert advice here.

I use the Atomic browser for some things. I feel it's main advantage is that you can set the type of browser that Atomic reports. I set mine to Internet Explorer and that allows me to visit regular websites without being redirected to a tablet version. Its free so why not download it and give it a try. If you find it wanting just delete it.

Likely because it's a not self contained and/or it's game and copy protected, so install it via the developers instructions instead, which likely means it will have ot be uninstalled off the first machine, the developer contacted for a new license key before installing on the newer machine.
If you want it on both machines, you will need to likely buy another license.
Most developers are fine with transfering license between machines, you have to contact them.
They just want to make sure it's only on one machine so they are not getting robbed.

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer.

This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

Installed Panther on Older iMac and Mail Doesn't Work Correctly

I installed panther on my son's iMac recently. I created a subaccount for him from my verizon dsl account. I made sure all the info was the same on my mail preferences as in his but we can't send or received anything. I keep getting a message to put in the password for the account and I do and it doesn't let me in, just the same message comes up again. I put his account into my mac's Mail program and it works fine, but on his it doesn't. All the info is the same - I've checked and checked his password and it doesn't work. I even put my account info onto his computer and I have the same password problems. Anybody?

Has anyone got Contact and Calendar sharing to work?

I cannot believe I've been duped again. This borders on false advertising as far as I am concerned. How is it that Apple can connect and share Contact and Calendars with Exchange beautifully, but can't create this functionality in their own Server? Maybe it can be configured via the command line, but if I wanted to do that, I wouldn't be a Mac User. I am an Apple Consultant and every small business I service wants this more than any other function. They don't want a stupid WIki page, they want to use iCal and Address Book. Ultimately, I have to recommend MS Small Business Server. An absolutely pathetic situation.

I guess it depends on your needs. I run a shared mac-only office environment and came up with a few solutions with Lion Server. (minding that I don't interact with Exchange at all)
I'm in an environment where all users are authenticated to the Lion Server

1. Delegated Locations & Resources: From the Server App, with iCal Server on, you can create Location / Resource calendars, and then designate who has the authority to manage the calendar. For our purposes, I created one Calendar, and then the the delegate, I added the apropriate use group. From there - each user has creates a CalDAV with their user cred's in iCal - and then (this is the important part) Select the created account - and select the calendar(s) you wish to view in the delegation tab. From there - that one Resource calendar can house any number of calendars inside it.
The only downside here - is that iOS doesn't really deal with delegated calendars well - so you won't be able to see shared calendars you've setup.
Create a phantom account. This isn't quite as clean, but you could create a dummy user on the Lion Server - and then have users all create accounts in iCal using the same Cred's. Not as secure though.
An Upside is that iOS devices will be able to get at these.

Unfortunately, Here, I've had to rely on a phantom user account called "OfficeShared" which contains groups, contacts etc. that everyone in the office shares. I'd be interested if anyone had any tips here. (Keeping in mind that Open Directory may very well be a possible option if you're dealing with MS server)
Of course, if you're using Microsoft Applications, your MS Small Business server will always be ideal - but I've found OSX server to be a no-maintenance, no babysitting solution for an office full of Macs.

I'm expecting that MyList contain only 1 object with id=26 , but MyList contains all the objects inside MyObjects. So it seems that the Where clause has no effect.
And it's strange because if i change the dynstr to simply dynstr+="it.id=26" , everything works ok . It seems that the objectparameter list "doesn't communicate" with dynstr.?????????

mylist=context.MyObjects.Where(dynstr,ob1.ToArray()).Tolist
to below perhaps? since obj1 is already a collection. i have not tried it though.

I have Lenovo T60 with vista. I have advance dock from lenovo. DVI on dock doesn't work correctly. External display is distort, noisy.
After start of Vista is all right. But when I use blank white page monitor switch off and on in a circle. Monitor is in good order. Advence is in good order. (I change it 3 times).

ok, i think i understand you now. you have an advance dock with a third-party PCI graphics card and can't get it to work under vista. my best recommendation is to try different drivers. i am not 100% positive but your PCI card might have to have the same GPU as your T61 to be compatible. perhaps someone else with more experience on this can help.

Since latest update, Sound Check on Ipod touch and Iphone doesn't work.

My playlists have always played at an even volume before Sunday's software updates to Itunes, Ipod touch, and Iphone. Now my playlist volumes are all over the map. I teach a fitness class in a large room to 70 people, and this is ruining it!! Apple support on the phone told me it should work. Yes, it did work until the update, and I didn't change anything until I noticed it wasn't working anymore.
Now I have uninstalled/reinstalled Itunes, restored my Ipod Touch as a new Ipod, and even deleted and reloaded my music. Still not working!!!

Just a stab in the dark, but check:
Settings -> WiFi -> (your WiFi network) -> HTTP Proxy
Set the Proxy to Auto and see if that helps.

I can get another iPad Air to mirror but it is not using IOS 8. I have tried all the suggestions for restart, reset, unplugging cables, but still am not able to mirror.
My warranty expired 4 days ago so Apple wants to charge me to talk about a problem they created with IOS 8.

I might have run into this problem over the weekend and found a solution elsewhere. After selecting "AirPlay" only two options appeared to be available: "iPad" or "Apple TV." After selecting "Apple TV" it didn't mirror. Turns out, after selecting "Apple TV" there should be a mirroring switch below the "Apple TV" option. You have to scroll that little list by sliding it upward with you finger. For me, this "Mirror" option wasn't visible (had to scroll to find it) and was off by default. After doing so, it worked just fine.
