If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.
*Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu bar.
Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
*Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
*If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.
Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.

After update, my firefox reverted to my old and unusable bookmarks leaving me with numerous lost bookmarks. How do I get them back?

I recently updated my firefox and when I opened it, all of my bookmarks that I've made over the past several updates are gone. My current page shows bookmarks that I have deleted a long time ago or are no longer working. Even bookmarks that I have saved in folders are gone. My stumbleupon is also missing and will not update. As a teacher, many of my bookmarks were important and I would really appreciate some help.

I have tried opening my previous bookmarks and restoring them, but even the "recently bookmarked" section shows bookmarks that I made years ago instead of the ones that I made today.

I'm running the same version of Firefox on one computer in Windows 7 and on another computer in Windows XP. How can I make them look the same? Bookmarks is a button on the right in W7 and a tab at the top left in XP.

I am already running Sync for bookmarks, but I don't understand how to make Firefox have the same format at the top of the screen. I don't want to Sync tabs, so I haven't tried that option.

There is no bookmarks tab, expect you are referring to the bookmarks menu on the menu bar ("File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help") on your XP system.
Once your restore your menus on you Window 7 system, you can get rid of the bookmarks button. After going through the 10 steps below your toolbars on your Windows 7 system will be more usable again and like your XP system, none of which has anything to do with Sync.

Firefox automatically updated itself. However, since the updating, whenever I open gmail the chat feature does not allow me to send messages. I am able to receive but the typing portion does not work to allow me to send messages. It is not a problem with gmail as the chat feature works fine in Internet Explorer. How can I fix this?

Depends on your setting. Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...scroll down to the Calendars section, tap Default Alert Times>Birthdays, set as desired.

I have only had this problem since updating to firefox 25. I have already tried resetting the ff deafaults. it did restore the "undo close tab" for a short while. but when i exited and restarted ff i have the same problem again. I don't want to have to keep resetting the defaults, because it is too time consuming to then set all my preferences again.

I had the same difficulty. Could not use the Ctrl+Shift+T combo to undo close tabs. The solutions mentioned here did not work. I turned off the add-on "Tab Mix Plus" and the keystroke combo worked. Updating to the latest version of Tab Mix Plus solved the issue.

Fonts rendering incorrectly since update to Firefox 13.0.1

Since I updated to Firefox 13.0.1, any website using the Helvetica Neue font is rendering an outline font instead. I do have this font installed on my computer, and cannot uninstall it as I am a graphic designer and I use it all the time. Any change we can get a fix on this?

Google fonts not displaying correctly since updating to Firefox 31.0

Since updating to Firefox 31.0, the vast majority of Google / web fonts are not displaying correctly, including icons that are being replaced with random characters. When I view the Google web fonts page, only a few display correctly, the rest just default to a sans-serif font.
- I've tried running in safe mode with no add-ons enabled.
- I've tried disabling all add-ons then re-enabling one by one.
- I've checked the tickbox in the font settings for 'Allow pages to use their own fonts' is ticked
Any help appreciated, it's got quite frustrating now.

You can check the gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled pref on the about:config page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value).
Delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Also, if you are using another browser out of spite or because you can't fix your problem with Firefox, I will remind you that Mozilla is a non-profit, public service organization, and, as such, doesn't have the same financial interests Google (or any other company developing a major web browser) does. Mozilla's objective is that ''you'', the user, use the browser ''you want'', be if Firefox or any other browser. If you want to use Firefox but can't, due to a problem, I'm glad to work with you the best I know and can to fix it. If you actually want to use another browser, then I'm happy that you finally found your "home", and my job is successfully done.
