Since updating to ios 5.0.1, I have 9 apps that won't update. Any suggestions?

I updated to ios 5.0.1 and since then, I have 9 apps that are no longer usable. I get the message "Unable to Download Application", lists the app and said it could not be downloaded at this time. Tried several times over several days to retry with the same result.

My recommendation would be to go to iTunes on the computer, under LIBRARY find the APPS tab and at the bottom it should say 9 Available Updates. Click on this, then you can update them from iTunes. To get them on your phone, go to Settings > General > iTunes Wi-Fi Sync (if you have iCloud set up).

Go to App Store
Select non responding app
That will take you to app open screen
Select app that will take you to it's location
Select it
Go back to app open screen and select update

I've got a bunch of Mac App Store apps that won't update.

They fail with the error: "The application could not be downloaded. The operation couldn't be completed. Read-only file system." Does anyone know how to fix this?

Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac. Launch the App Store. Hopefully you can update your apps now.
~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.

Since the update to iOS 7.0.2 I have only access to my email when there is a new massage. As as massages have been read my name turns light gray and I cannot access my email anymore.

On iOS 7, I have Apps in the pending updates section that are up to date.

Since I updated to iOS 7, there are several Apps in the "Pending" section but there are no updates available for them. Many of them got their last update in October 2012! And instead of an "Update" button, it just says "Open" to the right. Is there an easy way to fix this?

I have the same problem as A_Freakout. We are not discussing the new format in the updates area.
In ios7, under updates there are two sections. The top section appears only when there are updates available and it is called "Pending Updates". The lower section is all the apps that have been updated and is divided into the dates the update occured.
My problem is that, 13 apps have stayed in the "Pending Updates" section, even after they have been updated. Thus it shows that I have 13 apps to download.
Hopefully this explains the problem better.

This has nothing to do with Apple, as Apple does not make the apps.
This is the decision of the app maker.
Contact those app makers and ask them why they do this.

What happens when you try?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

The same story. No 3G after updating to 6.1. Told my daughter temporarily not to do an update on her iPad with 6.01. We've exchanged SIMs. I inserted her SIM in my iPad - 3G appeared immediately. And my SIM in her iPad with ios 6.01 also WORKS FINE. We use the same provider - Megafon Moscow. After attempting to revert SIMs to original configuration, 3G disappeared on my iPad again. Hi You may have a hardware fault take ipad to Apple Store. Ring then first to make an Appointment take box and you purchase paperwork they may give you A replacement. Before you do that Try a Reboot hold down power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo you may need to hold down for up to 30 Seconds But you may need to do this more than once. If it doesn't work take back to Apple Store. Cheers Brian

try unplugging the router for a few minutes (restarting it).
While waiting for it to restart, turn Wi-Fi off/on on your iPhone, then reset network settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
