Since updating to ios 7.1.2, phone won't sync with itunes
I'm using a macbook pro with mavericks as well as the latest version of itunes (11.2.2). I had some minor issues with my iphone 4s and was told by a guy at the apple store to update to ios 7.1.2 (from ios 7), and since this whenever I try to sync (via usb cable) it gets stuck at 'waiting for items to copy'/'waiting for changes to be applied'. Cancelling the sync causes itunes to freak out and I end up having to turn everything off and on again to no avail, with no new items being copied to my phone at all.
Is there anything I can do at all? Would it just be simpler for me to somehow undo the update to ios 7.1.2?
Please provide more information about your setup: iTunes on Windows or Mac? What version of iTunes?
When you say you "can't sync" do you mean the iPad doesn't appear in iTunes when you connect it or does it appear but give some error when you attempt the sync operation?
If it gives you an error message when syncing, what does it say?
If the iPad doesn't even appear in iTunes and you are using iTunes on Windows then read iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
If that doesn't work and the iPad still doesn't appear then try iTunes: How to reset the Lockdown folder.

Are you losing the connection to iTunes on the iPad or the computer? You are saying that iTunes is updated. Of course iTunes is updated when you update the iOS software. That's a no brainer.
If you mean that iTunes is updated on the computer, that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with downloading and updating apps on the iPad itself so changing the date on the iPad, signing in and out of the stores on the iPad .... Doing any of that on the iPad would have nothing to do with iTunes on your computer.
If .... you have not been able to connect to the iTunes or app stores at all on the iPad - try this ...
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If you can't connect at all - you can also try rebooting your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again. -

On your iPad, go into Settings --> Wifi. Does your iPad indicate your device is on a wireless network?
If so, can you verify your wireless network is correctly functioning?
If not, connect your device to a wireless network. If the iPad refuses to connect to a wireless network. Go into Settings --> General --> Reset --> Reset All Network Settings. If done correctly than you will NOT loose any data while reseting your network settings. After the reset, go back into wifi settings and attempt to connect to a wireless network. -
My phone won't sync with itunes
I plug my phone into itunes and it disconnects within seconds. I am trying to do the software update because all my apps crashed and I lost all my songs on the ipod feature. What should I do. I restarted the phone and the computer to no avail.
I just don't get it. It says it is plugged in to itunes and that it is backing up the phone before the upgrade but the phone does not say syncing. What do I trust. Do i disrupt the itune hoping it is speaking with the phone. Of course I am on hold to apple. Probably spend about 3 hrs waiting for anyone.

Songs on phone won't sync with iTunes
I have an iPhone 5S running iOS 8. I also have OSX Yosemite and the latest version of iTunes installed.
In order to free up space on my phone, I decided to uncheck the "Music" box before performing a sync. Regardless, when I checked on my phone there was still almost 100 songs on there. After checking that those songs are all stored on my Mac via iTunes, it appears that the only way to remove them from my phone is to delete them all manually? Or am I missing something obvious?...For transfer purchases to work both the library and the device should be signed into the same account, and the purchases must have been bought with that account. Futher there must not be any entries for those items already in the library. If needs be, see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. If you cannot get transfer purchases to work you should be able to recover the items from iTunes in the Cloud, or transfer using some other tool.

What's the proper protocol for a reset on my ipod touch 4g? iOS 6 has totally jacked it up and it will no longer do anything but crash, and won't sync with itunes wirelessly or by cable.
It's a 64G ipod touch and was fine till Apple told me to upgrade to ios 6. Now most of my apps crash, my music won't play and I just get a white screen when I hit Music.
When I try to sync to itunes it acts like it's going to sync and appears to recognize the ipod, but it's grayed out and has an update circle by it that spins for a while until itunes eventually freezes alltogether. Erased all content on 3G but now won't sync with iTunes. Error states, "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started." I don't want phone service on this old 3G. Just want to use it as an iTouch. Any suggestions?

My iPad2 won't sync with iTunes. Upgraded iPad to iOS 6, iTunes is latest version (10.7). Cable connection. What am I missing?
I'm having the same, identical problem. It goes into step 2 (backing up process) then it goes back to step one (finding iPad) and it starts over again. It will just keep doing that for 3 or 4 times until it will say "iPad not found". This is so frustrating.

New i phone refuses to sync with itunes using pc
I solved my problem with new i phone not wanting to sync with i tunes on p.c. I was using a generic brand usb cable,and not the original one i recieved from apple.I swapped-out the no brand name usb for the original apple brand usb cable,and my I phone synced flawlessly,i'm so happy.the onle change i had to make to my info was my i phone needed to be checked as new,and not the original in the i tunes phone info./recognition starting stage of i tunes sync.it was all a result of generic usb,non apple brand usb cable,how simple,go figure....
