Everything is Sorted!
The release of iTunes 11.0.2 and iOS 6.1.2 for my iPhone 4, seems to have sorted everything. I can now sync music, films and photos between my MacBook and my phone.
I was dubious about blindly doing the updates but decided they couldn't really mess up any further functionality so I went for it and it's sorted now.
Look in to, and take the gamble, it's up to you. -

No. Anything that was created after your last backup will be gone.
Use iCloud to automatically backup your device, usually once every 24 hours. -
I have iCloud but these pics are not there, why did it erase them?
The photos could/most likely ARE still in photostream. I just did this with my ipad yesterday.
Log onto iCloud from a desktop in iPhoto and see if they alreaady synced over photostream first. -
Everything was fine, I try to update to latest iOS firmware (4.3.5) and I get an error "Unknown error occured (1394)" What do I do now?

BobbyError 3194, AKA "This device is not eligible.. occurs for several reasons:
1. Update to the latest iTunes - currently 10.4.1.
2. Disable ALL security apps (firewall, antivirus/spyware) running on your computer. Additional measures may be needed.
3. You may need to edit the Hosts file on your computer to remove references to gs.apple.com if you EVER used hacking techniqus or apps such as tinyumbrella.
4. Don't try to downgrade the iOS.
5. If the phone was EVER successfully hacked in the past (jailbreak, downgrade, unauthourized unlock) there may be nothing you can do now to fix this.

If you receive this error, update to the latest version of iTunes. 3rd party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue, to resolve please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. Since updating to latest IOS I cannot switch on wifi,looking at other sites it appears it's a software issue.how long do we wait for a bug fix as the common term greyed out is affecting a lot of phones after researching I phone users with the same issues.i know at the moment it's either move on to another phone system or do I risk the wait for a bug fix? I would like all with similar issues to list here so something might be done to resolve the software problem.
After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me. -
Ever since updating to latest version of Firefox it has been painfully slow on my Mac running OS 10.5.8.
Websites just hang, and never get to where they are supposed to go. The status loop on tabs just spins and spins but never loads the site. Go to the same site on Safari and there in a second. It is like dial up slow. Have tried all the troubleshooting tips(reset, delete/re-create profiles, uninstall/reinstall, updated flash) nothing works.

Any help greatly recieved.agree. itune failed to recognize chinese character so i rip my cd using windows media. tried adding folders to itunes but they put all the songs under the category ünknown album..

My iphone 5 has just had an update for candy crush and ever since i opened it the screen has been black and I can't get it to do anything what can I do?
- Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear. (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.) Relaunch the App and try again.

- Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
- Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
- Delete the App, then reinstall it.
Test the issue after each step. Make sure to quit the app as described before each followup step. -

i have update and restore my wife iphone to 7.0.4 and i lost all the data what to do now? all contacts and kids photos goooone , we have the same apple ID and when i tried to restore from i cloude , i restored my contacts not her???!!!!!
Looks like you restored your backup file to her phone. If you didn't back up your wife's phone first, then the data is gone, sorry.

I backed up my iphone 4 before updating to my iphone 5 and it restored to default settings. As a result, I have lost all my photos. Is there any way to reverse the back up as I have a 2 month old baby and desperatly want to retrieve my photos :-(
Pictures are designed to be copied off the device regularly as would be done with any digital camera. There is no logical reason why anyone would fail to do this with supposedly important pictures.
If a recent backup exists, it is also possible to restore the device from the most recent backup, this may restore pictures to the device. If it does, COPY THEM OFF THE DEVICE IMMEDIATELY for safekeeping. -
