The Local section of the Yahoo front page is stuck on New York as the default, and I'm unable to change it to my city using the normal procedure. IE does not have this problem. Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

My new macbook pro (Mountain Lion 10.8.1) will not log into my 1and1 outgoing mail server. ( It will receive mail - but does not send)My old Snow Leopard macbook does not have the same problem ( server settings etc. are identical) . Apple Support say its a 1and1 problem , 1and1 say it is an operating System prob - I have tried changing port numbers.
My eyes just glazed over...Please in the future break down each of your issues with paragraphs separated by two carriage returns. It would be much easier when trying to address your issues.
Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

I had no problem using a download wizard Java applet to download file to my computer from an SFTP site using Firefox. When I tried to do the same thing with Chrome, I was told to download the latest plugin. Once I did that, I receive the following message when I run the downlaod wizard:
The Java Wizard cannot run.
Please configure your browser to allow Java applets to access the filesystem.
I got the same message using Firefox and Chrome. However, I have no problem using IE to run the same download wizzard. Please help.If the problem is with a site that is hosted using MOVEit DMZ by Ipswitch, please notify the site owner of the issue and ask them to apply the patch that is available on the support site to resolve the issue.
This is a better resolution than downgrading your version of Java that was updated due to security issues. -
I never had problems with old firefox d/l the new one and getting a lot of pop up"s. I've checked my setting and them seem to be in order

My webmail interface is SmarterMail from Plesk as supplied by Hostgator. When Firefox updated to v31.0, I lost the ability to send mail because the popup windows for "New", "Reply", "Reply All", and "Forward" are too small to enter information and cannot be resized or maximized.
This problem does not occur with older versions of Firefox (tested 16.0.2, 21.0, 24.0, and 30.0) or with Chrome or Internet Explorer. While I am writing to you from a Windows XP Pro SP3 system, I have also verified the problem under Windows 7 Pro (x64) and Windows 8.1 (x64).
It's not profile settings, malware, or add-ons. I've tried Firefox Safemode and I've tried "Reset Firefox".
For the time being the workaround is to disable Firefox updates and downgrade everybody with v31 to v30. Please fix this ASAP. You have lots of people reporting it.As a temporary workaround, you can block website scripts from resizing windows. It's a bit of a sledgehammer, but another user who has this problem indicated that it does stop the SmarterMail script from rolling up the window.
Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''dom''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''dom.disable_window_move_resize''' preference to switch it from false to true. -

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

My 4S will get on internet but will not connect to any site including the App store or I tunes. If I cut Wifi off and go thru Verizon network then it is just fine. It is very slow loading tho. Everyone else in my house connects just fine.

I can understand how connecting to Wi-Fi is very important to maintain better control of your GB. I appreciate all the troubleshooting you have already tried to get this issue corrected. Yesterday, I went to the site for levno computers, using my web access for my work email. I opened the page to view the outlet items and was never able to get back out of it. Finally used ctrl,alt,delete and ended the task. After that the this is what my task bar looks like, I cannot resize or exit using tabs at the top or bottom they are not showing, nor is start showing in the lower left hand corner where I like it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling that did not help.

If none of this helps, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Try disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal. -

Who are you? Me? I have an iPad, 3 iPods, and an iPhone (ok, only 5 devices, maybe you aren't me). None of them will synch with iTunes ever since I upgraded iTunes to 11.1.4.62. I am trying to figure out how to revert to 11.0 or 10.x.

Update: my problem was solved by getting my VGA monitor out of the attic. Once windows was done and I ran the setup.exe off the Snow Leopard CD, all of the drivers were updated to allow me to switch back over to my apple cinema display.
Also, I did need to hold down the option key to select the windows CD to install...and again to select the windows partition to boot but so far everything is going well with Bootcamp 3.0.4 and XP SP2...other than it is windows.
