Since updating to the latest version of Firefox, I can't open a link inserted into an email. did the update disable something that I need to change?

Can no longer go from Outlook to the web directly.
1. browers links copied directly into the body of an email will not open
2. links within adverts will not connect.
I can only access the web directly through the browser icon.

You can modify the pref <b>keyword.URL</b> on the <b>about:config</b> page to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" or Google's "Browse By Name".

  • Since my computer upgraded to the latest version of Firefox, I can't access or access only partial websites - how do I fix?

My computer did it's normal Window update as well as updated to the latest version of FireFox. Since then I can access minimum parts of normal websites and I cannot use multiple tabs to search different websites. I restored my computer to before the Windows 7 update thinking that was the problem but I still have trouble accessing sites and extreme slowness with FireFox. Any ideas?

  • I have the latest version of Firefox. How do I clear my personal info and then clear the cache?

I have the latest version of Firefox. It is: Firefox/3.6.13 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729).
I got a page that said I needed to clear my personal information, then clear my cache. It said I could do that in the "tools" menu. The "tools" menu has no such option.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Thats' all well and good, but FIREFOX crashes when I click on those links. I'm not doing it again. Heck with it.
Am going to TRY and get my old version of FIREFOX back.
If it were not THIS problem, I'm sure I'd be having another problem because I've had nothing BUT problems since I "updated" my browser, the way my neighbor says you are supposed to.
    Thanks anyway, caldwell418

  • In the latest version of Firefox, I can't find the Home button

In my latest version of Firefox, I can't find the Home button, even when I try to customize the toolbars.

You can find the toolbar Home button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar.<br />
If you do not see that button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.<br />
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
You can drag the Home button from its current position at the right to the position at the left of the location bar if you want that button in its old position.

  • In the latest version of Firefox, I can't get the "Readability" website to work

This website is handy, because it converts online text into a format that is much more readable. To get it to work, you are to drag the "Readability" icon to the web browser's toolbar. This worked in the prior versions of Firefox, but not in the current one. This website works fine, for example, with Chrome.

  • Almost everything I do whether send an email or load a webpage it takes a very long time since I updated the latest version of Firefox; what can I do?

I updated to Firefox 14.0.1; my Operating System is Windows Vista on my Compaq Presario C700. I have taken it to the computer repair shop and they said they found a Trojan and removed it. It was still operating VERY slowly, so I took it back in. They said they could not find anything more. I removed MANY of my desktop icons and eliminated some of the programs from my start up menu. It is still taking up to 5 minutes to load some pages even just send an email!

    Hi,
Please try the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems Reset Firefox] feature via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information'''.
(To revert to the previous profile you were using, close the new profile (i.e. exit Firefox), start Firefox and choose the '''Default User''' profile. While the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Profile Manager] is open, you can also delete the newly reset profile (the one containing random numbers), or the former profile, as the case may be). If the reset is okay, it would be a good idea to delete the old profile as otherwise it would be left intact with the previous data until deleted.

  • Since loading the latest version of firefox i can no longer print. instead a message comes up "can not load library 'DLBAPRP.DLL' using defaults, error 126. what happened?

error 126 can not load library "DLBAPRP.DLL" using defaults. this message appears when we try to print from our web bookmarks or any acrobat or pdf files

That error seems to be new with Firefox 4 - never heard of it with earlier versions of Firefox, but it goes back many years in various Windows programs.

  • Macafee is not working properly with the latest version of firefox, how can I get it to work the way it was working on the previous version?

when browsing on google, it doesn't show the macafee safety arrow or caution, nor does it name the macafee secure sites. What happened with the new version?

    '''McAfee Site Advisor:''' https://support.mozilla.com/questions/837419
Look for an updated version in about the 3rd week of July; hopefully they'll fix their many other errors besides, I don't think I've been able to use it since about Firefox 3.6.0 or maybe 3.6.6
Be aware that if you currently choose to use McAfee Site Advisor it has some serious problems for Firefox users, check

  • Since upgrading to the latest version of Firefox (15.0.1) any keystrokes I enter into the Google search box do not register.

Hope someone can help with this! Since upgrading to Firefox 15.0.1 most, but not quite all, keystokes I enter do not register. I've checked that my keyboard is working and it's absolutely fine with any other applications, including Internet Explorer which I've had to resort to using in order to post this question, as I can't fill in the fields using Firefox.

A standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
If input boxes work correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.
Note that Safe Mode also disables hardware graphics acceleration. Before sorting through all your extensions, if you have noticed performance problems or display artifacts, try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox (in normal mode).
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
(WIN) orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced<br>
(LINUX) Edit > Preferences > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
