Follow these instructions to completely remove Apple software

Then use free Ccleaner to repeatly repair your registry until it's fixed.

download iTunes again from Apple.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
I'm trying to install the latest version of iTunes but I still have the older version but I'm unable to uninstall it. I couldn't update it either. What do I do?
What computer OS are you using? What happens when you try and uninstall it, since you say it doesn't work?

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

If you are on Mavericks (your profile says different) and using Pages 5.0 you should have Pages 09 in the Applications > iWork 09 folder.

I downloaded a film from ITunes in HD and had problems, I upgraded to the latest version of ITunes and have then downloaded the film again in SD on my Windows 7 computer, but I still can't get the film to play, any idea's what to do next?

I have the iphone 4s. Ive tried to update my phone & its stuck on the connect to itunes screen. Ive tried to even restore my phone then update & i still have a error for both of them. I updated to the newest version of iTunes and now I can not open the program. I get the message "The file iTunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes". What now? I'm using Windows Vista.
Had same problem and solved it without having to reinstore any music or movies:
1. Delete old Library file
2. Go to the 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and copy one of the earlier files - note, they have a date extension, e.g. 'iTunes Library 2011-11-01'.
3. Paste this file in your iTuners folder and rename file by removing the date extension - 'iTunes Library'
You should have all your music and paylists in tact, unless it was a really old previous file.
