Since upgrading to 4.0 and now 5.0 tabs do not have tab close buttons and I must use CNTL-W to close open tabs, what's the problem?
Since upgrading to Firefox 4.0 the close tab button, usually in the upper right corner of the tab has been missing. I have just recently upgraded automatically to 5.0 and the tab close 'X' button is still missing from all open tabs. The only way to close a tab is to click on it and use CNTL-W to close out the tab.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
* Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

I downloaded the latest version of Mozilla Firefox yesterday, full and complete, and I am actually using it right now. The only problem I have had is upon clicking any YouTube video, the box pops up saying "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (rtsp) isn't associated with any program." Hi, I just tried to update my 4s to the new 5.0.1 update and after it was done my phone went into recovery mode. Everything was erased and I had a backup in icloud and my computer but they are not showing up at all. Can someone help me?!

You need to take it to an AASP or Apple Store ASAP, I'm not sure what has occurred. It could be OS X has been messed up by someone in your household or you have a hardware problem.
You can try running Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode to see if there are any obvious hardware problems. This will take 30-60 minutes, if it passes the first time to be sure you should run it in Extended Mode 2 more times. If it reports errors, write them down and take that information with you when you visit the Apple Store or AASP. You can find instructions for AHT at:

I do not have a firefox button and sweetpaks keeps popping up and i cannot uninstall
i have tried to uninstall sweetpaks and it asks me to hit the firefox button. I do not have one.
I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it and the sweetpacks is still there. I have successfully uninstalled it from programs and it is no longer on internet explorer or google chrome. I need help getting rid of it from firefox
I use firefox all day everyday for my business because I like the tabls and i do not know how or why sweetpaks appeared.

I used Firefox yesterday morning and it worked fine. I went back to my computer yesterday afternoon and Firefox wouldn't open. I've tried everything. I even updated Firefox. But it still won't open. When something that used to work stops doing so, the most likely culprit is corrupt preferences. So that's the easiest first troubleshooting step. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist file & then restart Pages. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list. Or you can choose Go to Folder from the Go menu in Finder & paste this line in the box:
~/Library/Preferences
Did you install Pages by copying it from another drive? The iWork apps don't do that well at all. The Mac App Store will report an application as installed if it is on any connected drive, not just the start up drive.
If deleting the plist doesn't fix the problem you will have to delete the existing Pages & reinstall. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. The easiest way to fix the problem is to use Yvan Koenig's AppleScript that removes the files. Yvan's box.com account often is out of bandwith. I have put a copy on my Box.com account in the iWork folder. Download uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button. -
I am trying to set up my new Canon MG5320 printer to my wireless network. However, there is no button on the Airport Extreme to push when I get to that step in the set-up directions. I am using OSX.8.2. Suggestions please!
If the display shows the "Press and hold the WPS button..." message on the MG display, press the red Stop button on the MG and then select Standard Setup. The MG will search for networks and should display your Airport Extreme's network name. Select this and then enter the password to connect to this network.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of your computer.
As the music came from your computer in the first place, it should still be there and in your backup copy of your computer. -

I have checked input/output (default Built-in Output). I have tried opening other files and they won't play either. Have checked mute buttons and anything else I can think of. Our tech guy has also tried some things including emptying caches, etc. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled Audition. Still not playing. Any solutions?

I have iphone 5 and the latest iO7.1. Since upgrading to IOS7.1 birthdays added to a contact are not shown in calendar anymore. It use to show automatically before. Can anyone help?
Click on calendars at the bottom of the screen. Make sure that birthdays are checked.
We may think we have 1 calendar, but iPhone puts things in different calendars. Sometimes we can somehow lose one. Well not really lost, but somehow it just gets de-selected. So just make sure that all that you want to see are checked.
One cool thing I like about this is that they have added US Holidays which didn't used to be there like on most paper calendars. Nice to have them available now! -

For those who run across this therad and haven't taken the effort to make a backup here is another approach that should work.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Same here. I don't know how to solve the problem, but I figured out a way to close the app without re-starting or resetting the phone. If you click ok and then press the home button twice really fast before the dialog box shows back up, you can put the phone in multi-tasking mode and close the app without having the shut the phone off or reset it. Anxiously awaiting the fix for this since I have several apps I use that I can access at the moment.
