Since upgrading to Firefox 18.0.1 on my Mac Pro, I often can't edit text, instead getting dreaded 'chirping'.

This is the wierdest thing - when I click in a text box the first time, it usually works. As long as I only use arrows to move text, it seems OK. When I try to click in a text field to edit text, or try to highlight text, both inside and outside text field, I get the dreaded chirping sound and can't edit, copy etc. After clicking a few times on the page outside the text field, I can again access and edit the text field. Does anyone else have this problem? It only happens in Firefox and only in the latest upgrade. I don't have this problem with Safari or Google Chrome.

I don't have any details. The Question explains it all. We just upgraded from 1.5 Mbps to 18 Mbps download speed and webpages opened really quick until I downloaded and installed Firefox 4. I have Internet Explorer 9, but I do not use it. I would just like to go back to the most current previous version of Firefox and keep my settings and bookmarks to see if webpages still load as slow as they are loading now. Since upgrading to Firefox 4 every time I open or refresh a page everything freezes and I have to wait a minute or so for it to respond again. I'm also having problems with uploading to Photobucket and watching things via Youtube since the upgrade.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4.0 a couple of days ago, every time I open or reload a page the whole browser freezes. hello, often such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

I can no longer attach files in Yahoo mail since upgrading to FireFox 4.0.1. I click the "attach" button and nothing happens - no file list to select from appears; nothing.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4.0.1 the "attach files" function in my Yahoo Mail account no longer functions. When I click the "attach files" button nothing happens - nothing. No file selection box opens, no error message appears, no pinwheel of death, nothing.
The "attach files" button is no longer 'hot' in FF 4.0.1 either = the "little hand" icon does not appear when I scroll over it. Other action buttons are still 'hot' ("attachments", "emoticons", "format", "hide bcc"etc.) - just not the "attach files" button.
The Yahoo Mail "attach files" function still works when I use my Safari browser, however. So, it appears to be a FF4.0.1 issue.

I have to click the link several time before it will load and sometimes when they do load it does not show the page right. It is like the HTML is messed up or something. I have tried everything I can think of. I started in safe mode, still did it., I removed add-ons, still did it., I reset Firefox and still did it., I completely uninstalled Firefox and re-installed Firefox and it still does it. I have tried Malware Bytes Anti-Malware scans and Avast boot-time scans and found no malware or viruses. I have found that those websites open the first time with no problems on my IE9 and they used to do so in Firefox 26.0. I'm at my wit's end. The website links are in my bookmarks and are used all the time so they are trusted and my avast is set to allow them. They range from news websites to gun websites and everything I have read says that Mozilla does not filter those unless something has changed recently.

What I would call "body" copy is appearing in an unreadable script font on web pages and in emails since upgrading to Firefox 6.0, what can I do to resolve this?

Since upgrading to Firefox 6.0, some copy is appearing in a script font that is really difficult to read. I first noticed it in the body of an email I received, but then saw it on some web sites I was visiting. It also appears when I am typing.
I am on a Mac.

Also, here is what I've done so far to try and troubleshoot it...

I haven't heard of any similar message before. In your "More system details..." it lists two different Adobe PDF plugins, version 8 and version 9. You may have a conflict there, especially if the older one isn't disabled. You could try to disable it here:

If that doesn't help... Adobe Reader and the plugin have been updated to version 10. but Are you willing to upgrade Adobe Reader to see whether that fixes the problem?

when I was using Firefox 11 and all updates in just the 11 series when i used to go to sites like postal tracking from china (17track.net) it is part English and part Chinese. The Chinese parts were automatically translated to English. Since upgrading to Firefox 14 it wont translate the simplified Chinese even when using add on translators. Why was this not a problem for ff 11 and how can i fix this in ff 14.

Since upgrading to firefox 5.0, countdown timers at the various file locker sites will no longer countdown when the page is not the active page. I am sure it is not a site-side change as ALL the sites countdown timers freeze when not the active page. This has only happened since the upgrade.

A security Padlock Icon should NOT have to be manually set up by the user. It should not be an Add-On, it needs to be a part of the standard build package. It has become a norm and expectation of web usability.

No videos work since upgrading to Firefox 13

Since upgrading to Firefox 13, no videos will work. Everything works fine on IE, but I much prefer Firefox. I have tried rolling back to old version of Firefox and that doesn't help. I have updated all the plugins and still, no change. I have spent HOURS working on this.
I do NOT want to switch back to IE, but will have to if I cant get firefox to be fully functioning browser.

I beg to differ as everything worked just fine before the upgrade. But I have found a solution and that was to disable the realplayer downloader. once done, the videos appear to work again.

Cannot save or download anyfiles since upgrading to Firefox 5 for Mac OSx

I cannot download any type of file since upgrading to firefox 5 -- .doc, .pdf, .dmg (just a few examples) -- All I get is a three .part files. These files never join and cannot be manually joined. I have tried every tip at the following URL and it did not fix the problem.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".

#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
