Since upgrading to Firefox 4, it "hangs" immediatly then "crashes" when using a Google or Bing search results page.
No problems with other web pages e.g. BBC, Amazon, Wikipedia...
Also, no previous problems with version 3.

Since upgrading to Lion why does Safari freeze when using an email link?

I have a 21.5 in iMac (purchased late 2009). Ever since I upgraded to Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 I have had problems opening links from my email. Safari is my default browser, and now I when I open a link from my Mail, the browser functions do not respond. The page freezes and does not allow me to scroll at all, nor will any of the links work for me to click on what should be an active link. When I open a new browser page, it is fine--whether Safari, Firefox or Chrome. It's just when I open from Mail.
Anyone else reporting this, and is there something I need to change to make it work? I'm not very technical with the Apple products...thanks!

Thanks again but I have no peripheral devices connected. It's very annoying whenever I close the lid the logo stays lit and the computer does not go to sleep (light on front stays solid white). Each time it happens I have to open and close the lid 3-4 times before it finally goes to sleep. It's as if the computer gets hung up trying to go to sleep.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4 every time I open or refresh a page everything freezes and I have to wait a minute or so for it to respond again. I'm also having problems with uploading to Photobucket and watching things via Youtube since the upgrade.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4.0 a couple of days ago, every time I open or reload a page the whole browser freezes. At first I thought it might be down to compatibilty issues with other programmes open at the time, but as the problem has persisted when those programmes aren't open I'm starting to think it's the browser itself and it's getting extremely frustrating having everything freeze every time I want to change a page.
My other problem is twofold: with Youtube nothing plays at all because the toolbar with the play/pause option simply isn't there and I am unable to access the upload function on Photobucket because likewise it won't appear. I'm assuming this has something to do with Flash but have no idea how to fix it.

hello, often such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

I can no longer attach files in Yahoo mail since upgrading to FireFox 4.0.1. I click the "attach" button and nothing happens - no file list to select from appears; nothing.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4.0.1 the "attach files" function in my Yahoo Mail account no longer functions. When I click the "attach files" button nothing happens - nothing. No file selection box opens, no error message appears, no pinwheel of death, nothing.
The "attach files" button is no longer 'hot' in FF 4.0.1 either = the "little hand" icon does not appear when I scroll over it. Other action buttons are still 'hot' ("attachments", "emoticons", "format", "hide bcc"etc.) - just not the "attach files" button.
The Yahoo Mail "attach files" function still works when I use my Safari browser, however. So, it appears to be a FF4.0.1 issue.

I have to click the link several time before it will load and sometimes when they do load it does not show the page right. It is like the HTML is messed up or something. I have tried everything I can think of. I started in safe mode, still did it., I removed add-ons, still did it., I reset Firefox and still did it., I completely uninstalled Firefox and re-installed Firefox and it still does it. I have tried Malware Bytes Anti-Malware scans and Avast boot-time scans and found no malware or viruses. I have found that those websites open the first time with no problems on my IE9 and they used to do so in Firefox 26.0. I'm at my wit's end. The website links are in my bookmarks and are used all the time so they are trusted and my avast is set to allow them. They range from news websites to gun websites and everything I have read says that Mozilla does not filter those unless something has changed recently.

What I would call "body" copy is appearing in an unreadable script font on web pages and in emails since upgrading to Firefox 6.0, what can I do to resolve this?

Since upgrading to Firefox 6.0, some copy is appearing in a script font that is really difficult to read. I first noticed it in the body of an email I received, but then saw it on some web sites I was visiting. It also appears when I am typing.
I am on a Mac.

Also, here is what I've done so far to try and troubleshoot it...
I checked other browsers on my computer and it's not happening, I went through and checked for corrupt fonts on my computer, I double checked my font settings in Firefox prefs, I did a google search and attempted all the things I saw listed as potential fixes and nothing is working.

I haven't heard of any similar message before. In your "More system details..." it lists two different Adobe PDF plugins, version 8 and version 9. You may have a conflict there, especially if the older one isn't disabled. You could try to disable it here:

If that doesn't help... Adobe Reader and the plugin have been updated to version 10. but Are you willing to upgrade Adobe Reader to see whether that fixes the problem?

when I was using Firefox 11 and all updates in just the 11 series when i used to go to sites like postal tracking from china (17track.net) it is part English and part Chinese. The Chinese parts were automatically translated to English. Since upgrading to Firefox 14 it wont translate the simplified Chinese even when using add on translators. Why was this not a problem for ff 11 and how can i fix this in ff 14.

Since upgrading to firefox 5.0, countdown timers at the various file locker sites will no longer countdown when the page is not the active page. I am sure it is not a site-side change as ALL the sites countdown timers freeze when not the active page. This has only happened since the upgrade.

Not all sites are affected as sites like Megaupload, Filesonic, depositfiles, Rapidshare work fine.

A security Padlock Icon should NOT have to be manually set up by the user. It should not be an Add-On, it needs to be a part of the standard build package. It has become a norm and expectation of web usability.

No videos work since upgrading to Firefox 13

Since upgrading to Firefox 13, no videos will work. Everything works fine on IE, but I much prefer Firefox. I have tried rolling back to old version of Firefox and that doesn't help. I have updated all the plugins and still, no change. I have spent HOURS working on this.
I do NOT want to switch back to IE, but will have to if I cant get firefox to be fully functioning browser.

I beg to differ as everything worked just fine before the upgrade. But I have found a solution and that was to disable the realplayer downloader. once done, the videos appear to work again.
