Since upgrading to iOS 6.0 I can no longer complete my connection to my co/govt email. Any thoughts?

Cannot connect to my co/govt email since upgrade to 6.0. Anyone else have this prob?

This comes from the iPhone Manual for iOS 6.  It applies to iPad also, but the iPad Manual for iOS 6 has not yet been released:
VPN
VPNs used within organizations allow you to communicate private information securely over a non-private network. You may need to configure VPN, for example, to access your work email. Using configuration profiles
If you’re in an enterprise environment, you may be able to set up accounts and other items on iPhone by installing a configuration profile. Configuration profiles let your administrator set up your iPhone to use the information systems at your company, school, or organization. For example, a configuration profile might set up your iPhone to access the Microsoft Exchange servers at work, so iPhone can access your Exchange email, calendars, and contacts, and it may turn on Passcode Lock to help keep the information secure.
Your administrator may distribute configuration profiles by email, by putting them on a secure webpage, or by installing them directly on iPhone for you. Your administrator may have you install a profile that ties your iPhone to a mobile device management server, which allows your administrator to configure your settings remotely.
Install configuration profiles: On iPhone, open the email message or download the configuration profiles from the website your administrator provides. When you open a configuration profile, installation begins.
Important: You may be asked whether a configuration profile is trusted. If in doubt, ask your administrator before installing the configuration profile.
You can’t change the settings defined by a configuration profile. If you want to change settings, you must first remove the configuration profile, or install a new configuration profile with the new settings.
Remove a configuration profile: Go to Settings > General > Profile, then select the configuration profile and tap Remove.
Removing a configuration profile deletes the settings and all other information installed by the profile.

    Thank you Meta, but I could not get the calendar and contact sync with Gmail to work. Apple support already suggested to use Google or a Windows PC. Maybe I should actually reset and try my old Windows PC. Seriously, ... can this be the solution after a Mac OS update for pure Apple users?

  • My daughters bluetooth keyboard won't work with voiceover since upgrading to iOS 8.1 - how can i fix this?

    My daughter has a Greatshield bluetooth keyboard which she has been using successfully in school with her iPad mini. she is blind and uses voiceover to navigate and to have what she has typed read back to her.
    Since updating to iOS 8.1 the keyboard no longer works when voiceover is on but does when voiceover if off. My daughter is not able to use it without voiceover.
    Any suggestions?

              Was in the Apple Stor this morning in Indianapolis and picked up a Bluetooth keyboard to use with my iPad mini 2. Sadly neither I nor staff could get it to work with voiceover working. The staff, both sales and tech, appeared as shocked as I was. I was surprised that over 6 months Apple had not fixed this issue. Now I am wasting my time trying to back up reports of this problem on Apple's website. I know Apple over the last 10 years had given a lot of us so many advancements, but maybe that's changing? All I know is that as a busy professional, Apple has cost me about 4 hours of lost productivity today. I wish I could charge them for it!

    Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
    Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

    I use ALO and like to search my old mail to bring up all the mail I have received from a particular person. Since upgrading to 5.0.1 I always get the notice that there is no match for the email that I try to search. I know this is not true. How can I get the search engine back?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, install it, and run the 10.6.8 combo updater. Mac OS X 10.6 requires a Mac with an Intel CPU and at least 1GB of RAM.

  • Security Flaw: Since upgrading to iOS 8.3, I can by-pass passcode security by simply hitting RETURN on my bluetooth keyboard

    I noticed when I typed my passcode incorrectly on my Logitech Fabric Skin Keyboard Folio, the iPad allowed me to log in.  I checked again, but this time by just hitting RETURN key without entering any passcode, and again it allowed me to log in.
    If I disconnect the keyboard, and use the soft keyboard on the iPad itself, it only allows the correct passcode.
    Has anybody else seen this security flaw?

    Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The "etrecheck" fad hasn't made that step any less necessary. The better your description, the better the chance of a solution.
    For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What other changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

    It will ask for my password like normal but then it will tell me that 'such and such app cannot be purchased at this time.' I've tried signing in and out of my apple ID, restarting my phone, etc, etc but nothing seems to be working. Any leads on how to fix this? Preferably without having to back up my phone and restore it AGAIN...since the last time that happend (when I updated to iOs7 and lost everything) it didn't turn out so well.

    Yes, Avast could very well be the issue. Bad software, use the developer's instructions to uninstall and don't install again. Your Mac has no real need for most 3rd party anti-viral software and those so-called tune-up apps mess up more than they are worth. A pristine OS X system is all that you need, it takes care of itself.

  • Since upgrading to 3.6.13, i can no longer open tabs using the extension, only by right clicking on the open page, and then not always. I've had to go to Chrome as i can't get firefox to work.

    Firefox worked great. I have been using it for years. When i completed the recent update to 3.6.13, the new tab button/extension little + box quit working. I can click and nothing happens. I right click, get the drop down menu but nothing works. I cannot open a blank tab or windwo as when i want to go somewhere new without closing windows i have open. The only way i can access a new tab is if i go to my bookmarks and open one then use that screen to go where i wanted to go. I've had to switch to Google Chrome to complete tasks i need done online, but it doesn't let me do a lot of what i want to.

    I'll try to make this clear. I USED to be able to left click on a hyper link and the hyper link would open in a NEW tab. Now for some unknown reason the hyper link by default opens in the same tab (window). I have to right click the hyper link in order for it to open in a NEW tab. (Yes, my 'tools'> 'options'> 'tabs' are set to "open new windows in a new tab." (Please no answers telling me to get rid of the Ask toolbar because I don't have one.) Thank you.

  • Since upgrading to LR 5.6 I can no longer change paper sizes for user print templates.

    The print preview window shows the new size laid out properly but the printer feeds only the size which was used to create the preset resulting in clipping if a larger paper and cell size is invoked in page setup or xs white space if a smaller is invoked.     While the problem is unsolved I have found a workaround. If I use the "Printer" button (lower far right) and print from the printer dialed pop up custom paper sizes chosen in the "page setup" are honored and the layout  prints as shown in the LR print preview). On the other hand, If I print using the "Print" button the printer feeds only the paper size chosen when creating the preset.

  • My airport Express is not recognizing Ethernet cables, therefore not allowing my cable modem to connect to it. This is resulting in no Internet connection. I upgraded the firmware to 7.5.2 and it attempts to connect but just keeps flashing. Any thoughts?

    I've tried other routers in place of the airport and they work fine, but I really want to use the airport instead due to the wireless speaker addition.

    I assumed that you have already tried using different "known good" Ethernet cables, just in case the one you have now is faulty ... correct?
    Assuming the answer is "yes," the other option would be to perform a complete power recycle of your networking gear. This is something that should be performed whenever making network equipment changes.
    Please try the following:
    I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
    Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
    While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
    After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
    Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
    Power-up the base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    Power-up your computer(s).
    In this basic configuration, computers connected to the base station, either by wire or wireless (as appropriate for the base station type), should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options.

  • Since upgrading to iOS 7 iPhone 4S and iPad 2 gen do not update contacts. iMac iOS 10.9.2 Why?

    Is there a problem with iOS 7.1?  Since upgrading my iPhone and iPad I can no longer update new contacts from my iMAC iOS 10.9.2.  Also when I have voice mail the tab for voice mail give no indication that it is there.  Is this a problem with iOS 7.1?

    Also forgot to mention about the syncing with iTunes. Each morning, I have to literally turn off and then turn back on the 4S iPhone and the iPad 2 to get them to be seen by iTunes and sync. Yes, I am using the updated 11.4 iTunes on my iMac.

    Since upgrading to OS 10.6, I can no longer drag email addresses into my address book. Is there a quick way to restore this function that had worked in OS 10.4 but is apparently disabled in 10.6? Is there a work around someone figured out that's quick? I wish Apple would send out a patch to fix this problem. Any news on this front?
