You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.

I can print anything else from either the Desktop or Start but not a PDF. No error message but just does not print.
Update: down loaded Adobe Reader which runs on the desktop so when I read a PDF file it now runs on the desktop and I can print it.

I can't print PDF docs since Reader XI update

Help!!!!!!! I can't print PDF documents since updating to Reader XI. Had no problems before this update. I have read other users posting and tried one "fix" that was suggested suggesting user try to print docs as "image," but that choice was not active to select. I can't print even older PDFs that are on file in my computer. Please advise - this is interfering with my business. Thanks. I get an error message indicating "no pages selected to print" even though it defaulted to Print All. I selected by one page, pages 1-5, etc. with no success. Windows 7 system.

Pat, that did not fix the problem. I still get the messages that the document cannot be printed and that no pages are selected; the print dialogue box shows that “all” pages are selected. I get the message even if I manually select “pages 1-7” etc. I tried deleting Adobe and reinstalling it but I get a 1311 message that seteup.exe cannot be located. I tried downloading just the Adobe Reader printer drivers from your site and get a message saying that the download was not successful. Please help.

since I got the same problem as pdfprincess I hope you can help me. The 'Automatically save document changes to temporary file...' is enabled in my adobe reader.
A file I worked (commented) on a lot crashed. When I reopened the file, adobe reader didn't ask if I want to restore my changes in this file, as it is written on the help.adobe.com page. Is there any possibility to restore the changes manually from the temporary file?

Cannot import RAW files since I upgraded to Yosemite

I used to import RAW files using iPhoto from my T3 Canon camera but since I upgraded to OS X Yosemite (10.10.1) and iPhoto 9.6 I cannot do this anymore. I have reinstalled the OS, applied all the RAW upgrades and even deleted and installed iPhoto again but raw photos cannot be successfully imported. Additionally, OS X becomes unstable after trying to import Raw files. I have the same problem in two different PCs (a Mac mini, a MacBook Pro) as a result, I have concluded that there is a problem with the RAW compatibility drivers. How can I convince Apple that there is something wring with their drivers?

Start by letting them know:
iPhoto Menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback

I am getting messages that I can't download and read .pdf files since I have the wrong Adobe reader. I know about their security disasters of course, but I downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader from the Adobe web site and I have other ,pdf file readers as well, and for some reason they won't work either. I have 5 computers running top end processors and RAM. By this I mean I have one, this one which I am using that has an AMD Phenom Black 3.2 Quad-core with 8 GBs of Corsair top DDR2 RAM, my other two AMD have either an Athlon II triple core with 4 GBs of DDR2 Corsair RAM, one with the Phenom X4 965 3.4 GHz Quad-core with 8 GBs of their best DDR2 RAM, and two Intels with the i7 920 Processors using the triple channel 1366 socket processors and one with 8 GBs of low latency DDR3 RAM and the other with 4 GBs of the same RAM. I am getting the message on this one, which has a fresh install of XP Pro X64 operating system, as do the other 4 as well. I have run Avast Business Pro Anti-virus on this one, which I am getting the message on with a single result which I deleted, and also both Spybot Search and Destroy, which came back clean as well as Malwarebytes Antimalware, which got a lot of tracing cookies now removed, and SuperAntiSpware which also found a few cookies also now deleted. Can you tell me what I need to do to get these files to show as .pdf files rather than as a clean blank page. One other issue is that I wish to know how to turn off my downloads so they are saved and Mozilla will give me the option of returning them instead of me losing them all together as it does now. I cannot open pdf files from one supplier when using Adobe Reader but I can open it if using Google PDF viewer or another viewer. The Adobe reader gives the error "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired" when I try to open the file. The version of Adobe Reader is 10.1.7, however I have tried other versions and they all fail the same way. I have tested on a number of different PC's in different networks and all fail using Adobe Reader but work using alternate viewer. Also the PC's will open a PDF from any other source.

Newer Reader versions are more strict than older versions (and other PDF viewers). If certain minimum requirements are not met, Reader will tell you that the PDF is damaged. This can happen when a document was created with software that does not adhere to PDF standards, or when the file was damaged during a download or email transmission.
You should contact the creator of these PDFs.

Two error messages appear:
1.- Error when starting the application because it couldn't find LXBBGF.DLL. Re-installing the application can solve the problem.
2.- Can not load "LXBBPRP.DLL". Using defaults. Error: 126
I can print other files (word, etc) with the same printer.

I first uninstalled the Adobe Reader XI and then intalled an older version (Adobe Reader X). Now I can print pdf files!!

try tapping holding on the key that would be most similar to the letter you want to enter, that will bring up a menu of other characters similar to that character and maybe the greek letter will be included in that menu

Assuming you are running 10.10.2 and not the ancient 10.0.2, can you tell us what printer and printer driver you are using? How is the printer connected to the computer (network, usb)? See if you can delete the Reader preference files? Years ago I resetting the printer subsystem would sometimes cure a problem like this.

Sounds like something has been added into the Reader folder. I would recommend uninstalling, running http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, removing any left over parts of the Reader folder (this might have been the problem), reboot, and reinstall. Hopefully that solves the problem. For future question about Reader, you should consider asking in the Reader forum, this is not it.

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
Just launch the applicaiton, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.

Or you can download an already compiiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain. Run it to open your site and see if you can publish. If that doesn't help try the following:

go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
launch iWeb and try again.
