Since upgrading to Lion, iDVD does an unexpected end when I click the burn icon ... ?

I'm trying to burn an iDVD project to a DVD-R disk and each time I click the Burn icon, iDVD goes into an unexpected end and closes.  I burned this project numerous times before upgrading to Lion, with no issues.  Anyone have any ideas on a solution?  I'm running iDVD version 7.1.2 on a MacBook Pro

Thanks again but I have no peripheral devices connected. It's very annoying whenever I close the lid the logo stays lit and the computer does not go to sleep (light on front stays solid white). Each time it happens I have to open and close the lid 3-4 times before it finally goes to sleep. It's as if the computer gets hung up trying to go to sleep.

Ok, lets do a couple of steps here first:
To make sure your windows isn't corrupted because of the power outage, let's run chkdsk.
Click on My Computer, then right click your C: Drive (if you have other hard drives, you will want to run this on them as well). Then, click Properties. Inside that window, go to the Tools tab. Inside that tab, open up the "Check Now" button. That will open a smaller window. Select the checkbox to "Automatically fix file system errors", then hit Start. You will probably receive an error asking if you want to schedule the disk check, click Yes, then restart your computer.
Read [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265] for more information.
After running the chkdsk, then please go to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com], and download a fresh version of Firefox. I'm assuming you are using Internet Explorer to download Firefox. Instead of hitting Run, let's try hitting save. Remember where it saves the installer file on your computer.
After the download has finished, double-click and run the Firefox install. Once it is finished, try to start Firefox up. Let me know how it goes!

  • When I click the preview icon it does not load.

When I click the Preview icon ti does not load. what can I do?

Are you sure it doesn't start?  Just opening preview doesn't open a file.  Look in the top left of the menubar and see if it says preview.  Double click on a PDF file and see if that opens preview.

Have you tried: click Firefox button > New Tab > New Window '''''OR''''' CTRL+N '''''OR''''' File > New Window (if using the Menu Bar)
Once open, Firefox locks the Profile that is in use and you can not open another window with that Firefox version and Profile combination using the Windows Desktop icon or the Windows Programs list.

Why does my mini ipad reset when I click the camera icon?

    Try doing a manual reset:
Hold both the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
If that does not work, restore your iPad: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414.

  • Ever since upgrading to Lion my iMac opens to a different admin than the one last used and has to be switched. How can that be changed?

How can I change which user boots at start up? Ever since upgrading to Lion X my iMac no longer opens to the user on it prior to shut down. It now opens to a user who is virtually never on - which is actually me under a different name. This division of my Mac happened when I switched to my new Mac and didn't know I had to use the same name to transfer my data. My old data is listed as a separate user. Over time my old user name brings up a window full of ???? at the bottom. It looks like no apps ever upgrade there. It is driving me crazy to have to now switch back each time I start my computer. (I am using an iMac with 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor).

  • Firefox Home with Search panel does not load/appear. When I click the home icon a message appears that says Firefox is not a valid URL. Never did that before?

Nothing different from the question. Firefox just does not load. When I place the mouse cursor over the home icon and do not click, a message panel seemingly powered by My Yahoo states "drag the AT&T globe to the left of the home icon in the toolbar and drop it there, then select "yes" from the pop up window and you are done." This was an action I did recently (not today) but don't see what this has to do with Firefox

You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />

Since upgrading my Macbook to Lion, the time machine backups are failing - error message: "The backup disk image “/Volumes/Jackie Scanlon's Time Caps/Jacqueline Drabczynska’s MacBook.sparsebundle” could not be accessed (error -1)."  I have rebooted the TIme Capsule and it worked OK, but don't want to do that every time.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

    Any new info on this?
I had the exact same problem and went crazy and spent a hecka lot of time trying to deal with my brand new 2TB Time Capsule and almost brand new MacBook Pro.  Then I thought I fixed it...and I tried SO MANY things, I don't really know what did it...except taking out any apostrophe's in names of stuff that Apple puts in there...BUT...now it's back.

  • Since upgrading to Lion why does Safari freeze when using an email link?

I have a 21.5 in iMac (purchased late 2009). Ever since I upgraded to Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 I have had problems opening links from my email. Safari is my default browser, and now I when I open a link from my Mail, the browser functions do not respond.  The page freezes and does not allow me to scroll at all, nor will any of the links work for me to click on what should be an active link.  When I open a new browser page, it is fine--whether Safari, Firefox or Chrome.  It's just when I open from Mail.
Anyone else reporting this, and is there something I need to change to make it work?  I'm not very technical with the Apple products...thanks!

Thanks again but I have no peripheral devices connected. It's very annoying whenever I close the lid the logo stays lit and the computer does not go to sleep (light on front stays solid white). • Since upgrading to Lion I see more beach balls than summer at the beach.

The i7 2.66 MacBook Pro runs hot and the fans often sound like a jet taking off. Background processes are running all over the place. Applications take forever to load (and exit). The network doesn't seem to start up correctly after sleep. Mail is back to the old problem of wanting me to entry the password for the server when I try to receive mail -- taking all accounts offline. (This used to happen all the time with Snow Leopard be mostly went away after a few updates. BTW - we are using Snow Leopard Server as our email server.) Oh, yeah, the battery is terrible. Fully charged disconnecting the power cable immediately shows 4.5 hours in the status bar. It used to say 7 or higher under Snow Leopard.
    Anyone else having these problems?
I am very disappointed in Apple for these problems that QA should have identifed and corrected prior to release of teh OS.

    Try this..
Goto Applications -> Utilities -> Diskaid
Click your hard drive and then do Repair Disk Permissions.. if you want, you can also do Verify Disk and Verify Disk Permissions (although the verify disk permissions seems pointless, repair should just repair if things need repairing, otherwise leave them alone, but I dunno if thats how it does indeed work)
Better still restart while holding down the Command + r keys and boot into Lion restore. From there choose DiskUtility from the menu and run a repair on your disk from there. You can also repair permissions if you like. If that does not help, restart then try making a new User account and boot into that and see if the problems persist. You should not be seeing any of these problems in Lion. There is more of a chance that you have some third party application installed that is causing the conflict.

  • Since upgrading to Lion OS, Firefox (6.0.2) will not allow the print option in Preview (5.5) for PDFs. The Rainbow wheel turns until I eventually force close.

I cannot print wirelessly to printer or to Evernote, etc. Print option will not work. If I use Safari, the PDF will print.

Most likely culprits are one of these:
    com.vmware.kext.vmnet          0073.02.98
    com.vmware.kext.vmioplug          0073.02.98
    com.vmware.kext.vsockets          90.1.5
    com.vmware.kext.vmci          90.1.1
Boot into safe mode, put the machine to sleep, wait about 10 minutes, wake it, and see if the issue persists. If not, dump vmware, restart normally, and repeat the sleep/wake steps.

  • I am using Firefox 3.6 on my PC , and now, when I select File New Tab (Ctrl+T), no new Tab shows up. Nor does it show up when I click the new Tab symbol next to my other tabs. How can I get the New Tab feature to work again?

In the past 48 hrs, all of a sudden, the New Tab feature on my PC< using Firefox 3.56, simply stopped working. I did not change settings, or download a new version of Firefox. it just stopped working. There are other scenarios where it does still work (for example, if I want to open a link on a web page, I can right click and open the link in a new tab), but if I simply want to have multiple websites open at once on my PC, I am forced to have multiple versions of Firefox open, as my New Tab option seems to be disabled or something. Can you help?

  • How do I know if private browsing is working? The purple mask does not appear when I click the mask icon. In my privacy settings "Never Remember" is selected.

I'm trying to confirm private browsing is working. Right now I have no way of knowing if it is on or not. The purple mask ,referred to in help, does not appear when selected. I should say in my privacy settings, I have selected "Never Remember" for history.

Do you mean you have checked the box: "Always use private browsing mode"? If so, it's intentional that the private browsing icon isn't displayed as we didn't want Firefox to be showing everyone within view that you're using private browsing mode IIRC.
There are some easy things you can do to confirm that you are in private browsing mode such as visiting a new website and then confirming it doesn't appear in the history window.
