Since upgrading to version 11, I am unable to paste a signature image -- being forced to use a digital signature.

I would like to be able to place a signature image, as I did in previous versions.  It seems as if I am being forced to use a digital signature, which the other side is not prepared to accept.

It sounds like you are unable to launch iTunes and get an error message instead. I would try the troubleshooting outlined in this article named:

If it comes down to uninstalling, then re installing iTunes altogether, use this link to download the 64 bit version of iTunes directly.

    Good day and thanks for your help.  AppleCare has been unable to solve or identify my problem.  Since upgrading to version 10.4 I am unable to have my iphone or ipods be recognized in iTunes.  I have deleted and reloaded iTunes four times, as instructed by my AppleCare tech.  I still cannot see any devices in iTunes.  I am running a Dell Latitude D620 with XP, Service Pack 3.  My device manager shows all USB ports are active and working properly.  I have tried multiple Apple sync cables.  My phone and cable work fine on my wife's laptop, so I do not believe it is a hardware issue with the cable or phone.
    I heard a rumor that I need USB 2.0 ports for version 10.4.  I believe my ports are version 1.  Is this true?  If so, how can I find and reinstall iTunes version 10.3.

    Obviously, syncing an iOS device with iTunes over USB is still supported in Mavericks. Calendar and contact syncing with iTunes is no longer supported. That has nothing to do with your problem.
    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
    Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
    Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

    All that cursor means is that it is busy trying to do something.  You can see if force quitting solves the problem with a simple force quit using command-option-escape.  If you are having issues with iCal quitting, sometimes it doesn't always know whether or not it is properly communicating with a particular calendar.  This can be a Mobileme issue, or even a phone synchronization issue, or a network issue reaching a shared calendar.  Shutting down a machine directly from a cursor is the last step one should try, only after all others have failed.  If you have done this in the past, lurking corruption can get worse each time with the directory, and upgrading the system will only enhance any corruption already present.  When you restart your Mac, does everything appear to be normal?

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

    Ever since I've upgraded to version 4.3.5 FaceTime sometimes won't receive a call. Sometimes it will, and I can hear ipad2 ring. I can make outgoing calls, and the other person can hear and receive my call. I also had a issue with an alarm clock app (alarm sometimes won't sound off). Everything else works fine. I've tried setting airplane mode to on, and setting FaceTime to off, shutdown to reboot. Then power up, set airplance mode back to off, and FaceTime back on. Was able to hear receiving call. After that couldn't hear the next incoming call. Is this a software issue?  How could this be resolved?

    I have the same problem on an iPhone 4 with 4.3.5 update.

    I've been building an extensive music file since the first iPod. It's about 110 GB large and for about three years I've stored it on an external drive with absolutely no problems. Now, within hours of upgrading to iTunes 8.1, every listed item on my iTunes library has an exclamation mark next to it and the message *"The song "whatever" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"* Of course I can show iTunes where the song is and then it will play it but I'm not gonna do that for 110 GB's worth of music! And yes, I've gone into iTunes preferences and told it again and again where the iTunes library is located but that doesn't work. Does anyone have a fix for this? And oh by the way, I will NEVER AGAIN let Software Update sway me into upgrading to a new version of iTunes until it's been up and running without bugs for at least three months!

    Have you tried, importing the music into iTunes again? So delete the music from iTunes only not the system, & then import to see if it finds your musics?

    The #1 culprit for that is Norton security software.

We have different accounts and she uses her own computer/iphone/ipad - but she uses my credit card info. How do I get her music out of my account? This is very frustrating because I’d like to sync my iphone but fear her songs will end up on my iphone.

  • HP Prime Virtual Calculator missing mfc120u.dll error since upgrade to version 1.21.8151.102

    The HP Prime virtual calculator will not start since the most recent update (version 1.21.8151.102). A windows system error popup window comes up when attempting to start the virt calc saying "The program can't start because mfc120u.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Needless to say "re-installing" did not fix the problem. From searches it appears the specified DLL is associated with debug builds so wondering if the latest version was built incorrectly?? Anyone else having this problem? Any solution from HP? I have had to revert to my "shipped" version which is sub-optimal. There has been no problem so far with my actual HP Prime device since the latest firmware update so phew... but the virtual calc is handy when working on the PC with code. I am running 64bit windows 7 -- all latest updates applied from MS etc. had no problems until this version of the vCalc 

    One possible scenario: On installation, the 64 bit OS is recognised and the 64 bit version of the redistributable is installed.The emulator is probably a 32 bit version (compatibility, 32 bit programs usually work on 64 bit systems but not vice versa).It looks for the 32 bit version of the redistributable which isn't installed. Note, this is one of many possibilities in todays software world. However, the fact that 32 bit programs require the 32 bit redistributable and 64 bit programs require the 64 bit redistributable is why I suggested to install both versions. This is not only useful for HP's emulators, but many other programs (hence I have so many installed already). Best regards.

    I upgrade last week on Tuesday the 24/9 my Apple TV from then kept losing the network connection, a fees days of this and then it stopped picking up any network even if I try to enter manual it doesn't find a network. I have  restored twice via my computer , I can use it by Ethernet but not wifi. This is so frustrating

    Obvious? How is a hardware issue obvious? Unless something physically went bad in the unit it's not a hardware issue. It's obviously an issue related to the software update (Version 6.0 and as of this morning I believe 6.1) that has cause mass problems for users. These problems have ranged from inability to connect to airplay, all the way to bricking the unit completely. What GeoffBeeby and myself are looking for is a resolution, not someone to tell us that the obvious issue is something that would be a statistical anomaly.

  • I-Photo Won't Open (since upgraded to version 6)

    Since I bought iLife '06, whenever I try to open iPhoto the only thing I get is it's menu, but not the main window. Intuitively I clicked on "About i-Photo" and got the "unexpected quit" message, and then chose "relounch", only to get the same situation. This time I chose "try again" on the unexpected quit window, and then - and only then - the application opend for real, with all my photos, albuns, etc…
    Ever since it first happened I have been performing this very annoing "3 part lounching" of the application, and almost every time it asks me to "rebuild the cache".
    On top of all that, when I quit the application I get a message saying "new settings were made for this application. Use the new ones or remain with the original settings?" - although it makes no difference whatsoever, because whenever I try to launch the application I'm back to square one!
    Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a way around it?

    First create a new user and see if the new user can open iPhoto fine.
    If the new user can, then there is something amiss with your users files.
    You can also Option launch iPhoto with the Option key held down until you get a message window. In that window choose to create a new library, name it, and see if the new library will open the iPhoto window for you.
    If not, Close iPhoto and option launch again, this time choosing to open another library, then navigate to your original library and highlight it and click open.

    To reinstall iPhoto...
    Navigate to /Applications and drag iPhoto to the trash
    Navigate to /Library/Receipts and drag all iPhoto receipts to the trash
    Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences and drag com.apple.iPhoto.plist to the trash.
    Insert your iLife CD/DVD and choose to do a custom install. You will have to kee p on going through the steps of the install before you get to the screen where you can choose a custom install.
    Install iPhoto.
    Run Software Update and update iPhoto.
    If this doesn't work
    Download and install the Combo updater for 10.4.6
