Since upgrading to Windows 8, Firefox locks up when I try to use it, can anyone suggest why please?

We had to download Firefox once we had installed Windows 8. Although we now have a Firefox tile on the new Windows desktop, to enable access to Firefox, whenever we click on it to go to Firefox, we get the option to select Firefox as our default browser. Whether we say Yes or No, the screen then locks up and we have to use Control, Alt and Delete to close it.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

I suggets you contact the manufacturer. They may have a software update or a workaround.

After Effects locks-up when I try to use preference submenu

I have an issue with After Effects "freezing" or locking up when I try to use any sub-command under the "Preferences" menu. Any guidance fixing this would be greatly appreciated. I have a quad-core Intel PC with 8 gig of memory. The applications are installed on a 2 Tb drive. I don't think memory or space is an issue.

That's a weird one. Never heard of such a thing happening before.
You can help us eliminate a lot of things that only MIGHT be the cause and perhaps give us the clue to an accurate diagnosis by answering the questions you'll find here.

The front camera on my iPad locks up when I try to use it. The entire camera app locks up until I do a reset in settings. I have done the manual reset as well as a restore and it still locks up. I want to use Facetime and Skype. How do I fix?

If you restored the iPad to factory settings and the camera still locks up, you may have a hardware problem and it may be time to get Apple involved.
If it was just Skyoe, I would suggest deleting the app and reinstalling, but you can't delete FaceTime.
Can you use the camera otherwise - meaning to take photos and videos - front and back facing both work?

PS 6 locks up when I try to use the image size tool

All the other tools seem to be working OK.
When I try to use the image size tool PS just locks up and the only way to exit the program is using Task Manager??

Firefox locks up when i try to do anything on it

I wa ussing firefox yesterday and all of a sudden it 'locked' up. I restarted it and the same thing happenned--many times. I removed firefox and reloaded it from a new download exe. Same thing happens when I try to do anything.

Firefox locks up when I try to play Pirates Rule on Facebook

Every time I try to play my favorite game "Pirates Rule" on Facebook, Firefox locks up on me and I have to restart my PC to get it to stop. I am not able to close Firefox at all once I try to load Pirates. Any idea for a fix?

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Your Windows friend should ask in a Windows forum why his email client won't open attached jpg files. We have no idea what email client he is using or how his Windows security is configured.

Previously Itunes had been working perfectly but since the update it freezes every time I try use Itunes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes but still have the same problem. Any suggestions? Do what the message states, upgrade to a supported version of iTunes.
Doesn't seem all that difficult to figure out to me.

Firefox locks up when right-clicking and using drop-down menus

I've experienced this problem with earlier versions of Firefox as well - sometimes when right clicking (like opening up a new link) or using a drop-down menu (like in Gmail) Firefox completely locks up and I need to control all delete shut it down and restart it manually.
Any ideas?

Loss of sound on pavilion dv6700 since upgrading to Windows 10

since upgrading to windows 10 I have lost my audio.....can't play MP3 music and the system sounds do not work...searched for sound card driver and found three recommended...each one reported suitable hardware not found.....decided to reinstall the sound card driver from my windows 7 install, as luckily I backed up all my drivers before upgrading to OS10.....,although it installed, still no sound...have removed device and drivers and let the laptop reinstall after restart.....don't know what else to try.....don't suppose there is a function key muting sound that I don't know about....thanks

I read your post on the HP Support Forums and see that you are having issues with your HP Pavilion dv6700 Entertainment Notebook PC. I understand that since you have upgraded to Windows 10, you are having an issue with your sound not working. I would be happy to assist you. Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues. Have you tried in the Device Manager to update the driver that is currently installed? Have you tried to select "Find New Hardware" in the Device Manager?Have you tried connecting headphones to see if the Sound issues persist that way?Have you tried to uninstall in the following order: 1. Uninstall the sound driver in Device Manager2. Restart your Notebook3. Reinstall the driver? You can use the HP Support Assistant for drivers. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating for Windows 10. If you choose to download the drivers from the HP Driver's Page and there is not a driver in the Windows 10 Column, there should be one in the Windows 8.1 column. Me too. I read some instructions to reinstall, and delete all folders associated with Apple. Worried I will delete my library and backup.
