Since yosemite fcpx won't update or work at all!

Updated to Yosemite this week had no issues except that now FCPX won't work at all. I purchased it in July 2012 and currently have FCPX 10.0.9 It shows on my hidden purchases on the app store with my current apple ID but it will not let me update it or open it at all. Instead it wants me to purchase a whole new app for $299. Any help on how to resolve this would be much appreciated.

FFirst step: move it out of hidden purchases and leave it out. If it says installed, move the app from the Applications folder to the trash And redownload it.
NExt, read up on working with 10.1 and 10.1.2 as these are significantly different from your current version. Do this before updating your projects and events. Start here

FCPX won't update to 10.1.2

I have downloaded update (10.1.2), it shows that i have "installed" it in my app store but my FCPX is still showing 10.1.1.
Anyone have some ideas for me?

Hide it. Unmount the backup disk and try the update again.
As long as the App Store thinks you have 10.1.2 installed (and apparently you do), it won't offer to update.

Airport won't update but works otherwise

I have an Airport Extreme. I've been trying to update to add a PC HP Netbook but it refuses to update. Error states, "need computer to be closer or try again" sort of thing. All of my other three laptops/printer, etc. can access and works fine. It just won't restart/update even with a direct ethernet connect. Any suggesions?

If so, then, in my opinion, the egg is on Adobe's face, not yours. The error message should just have been something like "Component not found". Just one line, instead of 199.

Just upgraded to Yosemite. iphoto won't update.

I've downloaded both iphoto 9 and the updater, each one says it's installed then when I try to open it tells me I need the other. I don't get it?
any ideas?
also worried I might have overloaded my mac. it's a few years old: processer 2.8 GHz Intel core 2 duo with memory 4GB 667 Hz.
already it won't open some of my adobe creative cloud apps, which is exactly why I upgraded to Yosemite.

If your iPhoto version was iPhoto 7 (08) before you upgraded to Yosemite then you need to download and run/apply the upgrade application to your iPhoto Library before iPhoto 9.6 can open it. Had you run the upgrade app?

Photos/iPhoto cannot read .jpg files on my phone since Yosemite 10.10.3 update

I have a MacBook Pro. I recently updated to Yosemite 10.10.3 and installed Photos. Now when I attach my Samsung Galaxy phone, neither Photos nor iPhoto can read the majority of the photos on my phone! They are .jpg format so WHAT is the problem???? All it tells me is that the files are "unreadable" and that they are in an "unreadable format"... BUT THEY ARE .JPGs!!!! the same format I've been successfully downloading into iPhoto for years!!!! Please help.

2 Possibilities:
The phone is taking non-standard jpegs in some way of other
Or
The phone is broken and the jpegs are corrupted in some way
Why do I blame the phone? Because neither the Mac nor the PC can access the files.

No, no one from Apple reads or responds on here. As the Terms of Use make quite clear, this is a space for Users to seek help from other Users only. It's not a substitute for AppleCare. There are something in the region of 100,000,000 iPhones out there. It's inevitable that some devices will have issues, and some users. So, taken in that scale, the fact that - what - a couple of hundred people have issues mightn't seem so appalling.

Flash player won't update/install/work/etc.

About a week ago my flash player apparently stopped working.
Sites like youtube, google video, none of these will work because
it says I need to update my Flash player. Everytime I try to
update, the installer runs, IE restarts, and the problem persists.
I have done this over 20 times, and it will not work.
I have used the uninstaller to take flash player off and
reinstall the newest version, but this does not work either. I have
done it at least 6 times with no results. I am running Windows
Vista, and when i run it in Safe Mode it works fine, but not on
normal booting... only safe mode. Are there any known programs or
malicious software that could be interfering with it functioning
properly? Or maybe another suggestion on getting it to work
correctly?

omg I have the same problem too, i swear ive tried almost
everything I can even think of, what happens for me is ill go to
install it and it will show that the adobe flash is trying to load
something but eventually it wont load and just repeats itself into
a loop trying to install it. ive tried reinstalling uninstalling,
playing with the registry, going into the activex folders and
messing around there and i cannot find why it wont let me install
it., I have windows XP home and using IE, but it works good on
Firefox.

CFGrid won't update cell (works in 8 but not 10)

I am not an Ajax / JSON guy (yet). I am trying to find a solution for a problem I walked into (new client) and they are upgrading from 8 to 10.

I have tried all options given but none worked and since Firefox conducted a security update, I have lost ALL bookmarks!

I have tried the many different solutions (if not all or at least most) given by Mozilla for retrieving my bookmarks and none of them work. My bookmarks went missing after a security download/update from Firefox. I have many, many bookmarks and I do need the majority of them! What am I to do now? This is very disappointing as I so enjoy Firefox and have used it happily for years. Kindly help me with this situation as I can not even imagine trying to recall and re-bookmark them all. I can't say I would even trust bookmarks anymore. Thank you for your help...I am not a tech wizard but have tried what the site suggested.

I also have to add that this all happened after Firefox version 28.0 was updated...very disappointed.

IMovie 10 won't update, nor work

I've downloaded 10.0.2 and App Store says it installed. But, when I open iMovie, it still says 10.0 and it gives me a white screen with no ability to click on anything within the app. It has Import, Create, Share, Library/Theatre and so forth across the top, but nothing is clickable. Help...

I've Attempted to open the Macintosh HD's projects and events folder and FCP crashes. Can anyone tell me how to get my stuff back? Where is the roll back button? I'm stuck!!!

Download the free app "FCS Remover" from Digital Rebellion (dot com).
Run it to totally remove FCP X. It won't touch your Events or Projects.
Reboot your Mac.
Go to the App Store, reinstall.

I cannot get my update to work at all . The firefox app icon and arrow pointing to the Applications file appears on my desktop again and again. I keep putting in the folder but it refuses to work. I have Mac OSX 10.6.8

I downloaded the update file and moved in to the Applications folder as asked , it is there as an alias . There is a new icon on my desktop . I cannot move to the dock however . I click on both this icon and the one in apps and it keeps giving me my original box with Firefox icon, arrow and apps folder. I am going round and round and getting no where!

Why won't my script work on all files in the folder?

Hi, below is a script I hobbled together from various sources using the search function on this forum. It is supposed to change hyphens to en-dashes in a ai files in a folder. However, when I run it, it only works on one file. After it makes the change and closes the first file, it stops. Can anyone help me troubleshoot and fix the problem?

Why won't my AppleTV work at all?

I think this TV might not be compatible. So I hooked everything up, and it doesn't "see" my network, which is a Time Warner Cable connection, NOT wireless. Is there a reason why it wouldn't work with a cable internet connection? Do I have to do anything more than turn it on to find that network? Not only does this not work, but homesharing doesn't either. Do you have to have the network connection before anything else will work? When I move through the options on the AppleTV menu, it doesn't give me any other option but to hook to a wireless network, but I don't have a wireless network. When I try to do homesharing, I put in my apple ID and password on my iTunes, which works (or seems to), and then when I try to put my login and password in on AppleTV, everytime I hit "submit" it brings me back to the original login screen. What the $&#&! is going on? Anyone want to help?

sounds like your issue is how you connect your ethernet
if your router does not have a switch for several ethernet devices on the same LAN to speak with the internet and eachother it will not work

MacBook wont work at all

After upgrading to Yosemite, my MacBook air will not work at all. It was purchased In 2013 but is not the newer edition of that year. Everything freezes up it takes 5 minutes to put in my password to sign in and then if I click on anything it just has the spinning beach ball the whole time and I just end up pushing the power button until it shuts down and I can turn it back on and I have done this at least 20 times please help. my MacBook is useless now.

Sounds like the hard drive has failed. You can take it to an Apple service center for diagnosis and repair or simply replace the hard drive yourself.

Since yosemite fcpx won't update or work at all!
