SINCE YOUR LATEST UPDATE, I AM NOW ONLY ABLE TO OPEN ONE FIREFOX WINDOW AT A TIME, I ALSO LOST MY YAHOO SEARCH BAR TOOL.

I have had Firefox for a few years and have been very satisfied with all of it's features and qualities. I work a great deal from home and have always enjoyed the convenience of being able to work off of 3 or 4 Firefox screens at one time. By pulling up one screen over the other and then go back and forth (as I still am able to do with Internet Explorer), saves a lot of time and NEEDLESS effort.
Since your latest update the other day, I am now only able to get that 1 screen and no matter how many times I click on the Firefox Icon on my icon screen, no other Firefox screens will come up. I am stuck with that 1 screen...
PLEASE HELP!!!! I have also lost my Yahoo search tool bar due to your upgrade, as well as several others which I cannot seem to retrieve.

Since I upgraded to Firefox 19 from 18.0.2, on my Windows XP (SP3) laptop, I, too, can no longer open a new window. File-->New Window does nothing; also can no longer tear off a tab and open it in a new window (it stays where it is). Also, if I right-click on a tab and select Move to New Window, nothing happens. All of these worked fine in FF 18.0.2. All of these work fine with FF 19 on Windows 7. Only an issue on my XP laptop.
After trying to open a new window, and not seeing the new window come up (and yes, I waited a long time), I decided to close my current window, which had multiple tabs open. Instead of just closing, it pops up the message reminding me that I'm about to close all those tabs. If I say close, and then go into the Task Manager, the Firefox application has disappeared (as expected), but the firefox (and plug-in container) processes are still running. So I have to manually kill the Firefox process to get it to quit. it's as if it thinks there is another Window open (the one I tried to open but never appeared). This happens every single time! I've restarted my laptop, and that does not resolve the problem.
Is there a way to downgrade back to v 18.0.2 until this is fixed?

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

    I've already downloaded the latest Firefox more than a week ago, and now, every time I open Firefox, all these tabs pop up (4 of them)...before that, a window comes up checking the compatability of all of my add-ons, with the status bar filling up as it does so, before the browser shows up.
    I have not changed a thing in the browser like resetting a new home page, changing an options with ANY of your add-ons, etc...just these annoying tabs all showing up every time I click on your browser. I tried Chrome and it comes up in a flash with NO PROBLEMS, which I think I'm going to go use now!

    As you can see below, when I right click, I have no such option.  In the User Account Settings, I'm operating as the "System Administrator".
    Any other suggestions?

    This happens to every URL I enter then the firefox box comes up and it gives you the option to try again or cancel. Previous versions worked great it has been since the last 2 updates that this is going on.

    having doubleclick.net not working is good thing, it's a tracker.
    However, pages that are loading and trying to 'read' the data from them will not load or pause. notice if you se 'Looking up....' while loading.
    Just try F5 refresh, sometimes it by passing and moves to the 'next sponsor/ad'
    Try a tcp listing program like whatsrunning to see the IP that are connecting to PC. If there are some that look suspicious ones such as accessing multiple ports or going 'in and out' / heavy traffic. Ban them by using a firewall or hostmanager file(there are several steps for this method however)
    Try Malwares spy checker.

  • Only able to open one .pdf without having to restart Acrobat

    I am running Acrobat X Standard on Windows XP.  Suddenly earlier this week, I have begun having a problem in which I can only one .pdf document without having to exit and reopen the program entirely. If you try to open a second, the sidebar with bookmarks is visible, but you can't view the document itself.  The screen where .pdf is normally displayed is transparent (showing the gray Acrobat background).
    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for your reply; however, I've messed something up on my computer.  I've been cleaning up my Dell Latitude laptop by disabling programs that aren't necessary in my start-up and deleting old apps that are no longer needed to not only clean up but speed up my laptop and everything is working great now except whatever I did, my computer no longer recognizes that I subscribe the the monthly Acrobat Pro XI online subscription (I pay $21.19 with tax per month).  Now, I can't password protect a PDF document so I'm not sure what I need to do to correct my problem.  I'm sure it's something simple.  Well, at least the computer is running faster and better minus my subscription to Acrobat Pro    Thanks for letting me know that it wasn't a Norton 360 or Chrome issue.  That helped.  tstepup22

    I've tried everything others have suggested without any luck.
    Now I'm stuck with a 300 bucks mp3 jalopy.
    My big question here is :
    why aren't we hearing from apple? why aren't they saying something like "yeah we messed things up but be patient. we are trying our best to fix it..." ?

    Sorry to hear about that, sometimes the updater can leave a mix of different-version files in your Firefox program folder. Here's what you need to do if that's the cause of the problem:

    Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
      Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
    Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
    Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
    Settings>FaceTime
    and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
    Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

    Middle-click or click the scroll-wheel on a hyperlink has always opened a '''new Tab'''. Any chance you had an add-on that changed that action, and now that add-on is disabled or incompatible?

  • Populair Podcast doesn't work since the latest update

    Mine populair podcast does not work anymore since the latest update. Every-time I try to access this menu-item I get an error in French that this isn't available from the iTunes Store.
    The error message is very strange because that's the only item displayed in French. All the other menu-items are in the language that I want (Dutch).
    Are there some other having the same problems with populaire podcasts?

    On Vista Home premium, uninstalling and reinstalling buth iTunes and Apple Applicatioon Support did NOT work for me.
    What did work for me was manually copyting CoreVideo.dll from the Apple Application Support folder into my iTunes folders (actually, to both of them - under Program Files and Program Files (x86)) as per advice posted in a Windows forum, found after an hour or more of frustration and failure.
    This appears to be a bug in the 10.1 installation scriptimng - what's going on?

    The setting in "Tools > Options > Tabs" only works for links that would open in a new window.<br />
    That option allow you to divert such calls to a new tab.<br />
    For other links you either have to use a middle click or a Ctrl + left click or use the context menu.
