Single email sent but activity window reports multiple messages

When I send a single email sent the activity window reports sending of multiple messages e.g. 9. Does this indicate a virus or malware is working in the background and if so what should I do about it?

This is not malware, it's simply a long-standing bug in Mail. The count doesn't reset properly until you quit Mail, so when sending the 9th e-mail since starting Mail, the number of messages being sent will be shown as 9.

Are they in the body of the mail?
Hold your finger down in that mail until the little blue bubble pops up. One of the options should be to select all. Choose that and all will be hilighted. then a pop up comes up to copy, choose that, open your destination and hold your finger down to get the paste dialogue.

When we returned from a weekend trip, both emails were working. The obvious answer [to me anyway] is that the problem was with Roadrunner, not our minimac. The chances of finding out what the problem was with Roadrunner are slim and none.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like Facebook imported to your contacts. I have the Xfinity app on my new ipad, too, but none of my stored contacts from the online version are showing, only what I manually entered into the iPads contacts are there. When I did add the FB app, I did not grant it permission to push and pull from my ipad (not a fan of FB knowing every detail about me), so that may be where our difference lies. You could try to open the app and change your privacy settings, or delete it and then reinstall without granting permissions to integrate.
I'm sure someone here with a lot more knowledge then me can probably diagnose your issue better, though. Good luck!

Hi,
I have an email script that is in place in several pages of my website.
I works perfect from every page except one.
I far as I can see in that particular page it does actually send the message but I am just not receiving it, I do receive all other messages from my website.
I have tested the script with echos and the script does run to the mail() script, I have echoed all variables before it and they are all completed and I have placed an if ... else.. clause testing $mailSent, it was confirm as $mailSent = 1, it did not get to the else clause which was !mailSent.
If the message is being sent why would I not receive it when I receive all other messages from other pages, I am at a loss as to what and where to check.
I queried it with my host who could not produce any errors.

@Abdullah: SCOT is correct. For all the e-mail messages the status is green. (Successfully Sent)
@Rick: This is a custom application which triggers workflow. I can see the emails in SOST with status as successful.
@Anjan: No emails in junk folder as well.
@Swadhin: If we send a test email from SOST, it works fine. Me too suspecting the issue with user id. Working on it.
@Rahul: Yes. Some users received the emails. Also email is maintained for WF-BATCH user.
@Mike: Tried testing test email and it worked fine. No filters in SCOT. Exploring more options with basis/security.

Single email written but with different names in it at various points ?

I have a friend who has an new imac and wants to send an email to a bunch of people in his mailing list but at wants at various points in the same letter to have the persons individual names inserted so the letters are all personalized.
Is this possible (he says he gets emails like this so I assume it is)

Yes, but it depends on exactly what he's talking about doing. Typing someone's name as the salutation in an email is personalization, and that's easy for anyone to do when they create their email. But if he's talking about taking a database of names and email addresses and sending mail that way, that can also be done via third party software, but unless there's enough people in the mailing list and enough frequency that it needs to be done, that's not cost effective.
Even so, if you really want that, you should check out Email Merge.

Email sent but not received by individuals

I am facing an issue in email distribution through WF.
Emails are generated and can be seen in SAP basis inbox. (i.e. you can see the email address/user ids in To field or Cc field). Few of the users are getting email notification in their inbox but few of them are not.
E.g.
In below example <generic_email> users are receiving the email as generic users but others did not.
Also if <userid1> is part of <generic_email> then <userid1> is receiving the email as generic user and not as individual user.

Email sent but no copy in "sent" box?

I've replied a email through company email account on my iphone. I am sure it is sent and there is a replied arrow displayed on the original mail. However it is not shown in the "sent" mail box, not on the phone, not on the server. Can anybody adivce how to make my iphone send a copy to "sent box" onto the server?

I have a similar problem. Does the problem go away if you restart your Mail application ("Quit Mail", not close window)? It does for me.
It would appear that the synchronization code between the imap client in Mail and the imap server get out of sorts and Mail no longer attempts to connect to the server. It does not put up the icon to denote that the server is unreachable, it simply stops connecting to the server.
