Single episodes to put on a disc

i have single episodes from bless this house and i want to transfer them onto one disk..how do i do that on idvd?
plz help
thanks

I'm simply saying that iMovie => iDvd is likely not your best option for recording TV programs. You might wish to consider other options also.
Here's what I use to record TV Shows to a g5 dual power mac. The first approach is Elgato's EyeTV3 software (which btw allows you to remove unwanted commercials if you wish):
http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/products/software/EyeTV3/product1.en.ht ml
The second involves direct recording with a set top dvd player / recorder (Daewoo) with firewire / digital inputs that allows me to record to Dvd-R or DVD-RW in real time and in sessions if I wish (as opposed to write at once which is what iDvd is limited to).

Along the same line is a digital media converter box which is also possible to use to record TV shows into your mac via firewire. This is a hardware approach and the Canopus media converter box works like this:
http://desktop.grassvalley.com/products/ADVC300/index.php
A forth way, you can capture VHS on many digital video cameras, although not all. Many have what is called digital pass through which allows for recording most analog sources via FW directly to your mac / iMovie 6. Then play the digital cassette into iMovie 6, edit as you wish and burn in iDVD. You might already own a camcorder which can also use the digital pass through feature for capturing from an analog source /VHS on a number of camcorders / cameras that have FW also (however not all do). You do have to check your owner's manual / camcorder for this particular feature.
Hope these help but if not just come on back.

  • Hi, If I play a single episode of a full season on Apple TV / I-Phone / I-Pad, the last played adds the date to all episodes in that season, is it a setting I need to reset

Does TV Shows show as a category under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your Mac's iTunes ? If it does, and that series is still in your country's store, then it should show there and you can download it from there (click the cloud icons) onto your Mac's iTunes library - you can then sync the episodes to your phone.

  • HELP! iPod Classic has "X" with a circle around it, and i cant put it in disc mode

Hello.... the iPod classic doesnt work anymore due to a "x with a circle around it". I tried putting it in disc mode and it wont come up on my computer screen and when I try to reset it, it still comes up with the "X" on the screen. I cant see the menu on it, and It wont work at all...
    Please HELP!

The RED X most likely indicate that your iPod hardisk is dying soon or already dead, the only solution is to have the Hardisk replaced, either by Apple or 3rd Party service vendor.
Some people have some luck, but banging the iPod on the rubber mouse pad, like myself, but after recovery, it only last above another 3 months, before the final RED X, when I got the hardisk replaced.
To check you hardisk health, read this earlier, excellent post from tt2, although it wont fix the RED X, it does gives you some idea, of whether to sent it in or make it an expensive paperweight.

Boot from your DVD by switching on the Mac & inserting the disc, restart it & hold the "C" key. Once the installer window loads & you have selected your language, choose Disk Utility from the Utilities Menu. You will then need to select your disk from the menu within Disk Utility & choose how you wish to format. It should be formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Once it has formatted, you should then be able to install the OS.
PLEASE REMEMBER...that formatting a disk will completely erase it's content. Be sure that you don't wish to recover any of your previous content before doing any of the above.

  • I have a Mac OSX Version 10.5.8 When I put in my disc to upgrade to snow leopard version 10.6.3 it tells me I need atleast 1gb of ram memory to download. what can I do

I have a Mac OSX Version 10.5.8 When I put in my disc to upgrade to snow leopard version 10.6.3 it tells me I need atleast 1gb of ram memory to download. what can I do

Your iMac can take a total of 2 GBs of RAM Max.
    Maximum Memory
    2.0 GB
    Memory Slots
    2 - 200-pin PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
You will be able to install OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and it will run, but you may not be happy with the performance overall.
OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and later OS X versions use more and more CPU, GPU and RAM resources.
OS X 10.6, by itself, will use between 2-4 GBs of RAM to run quickly, smoothly and efficiently.
Start running additonal applications and your iMac is going to struggle.
Just fair warning if you notice that your iMac is running slower after installing OS X 10.6.
    Good Luck!

  • Still can't download single episodes of podcasts

I can't download single episodes of a podcast if I am subscribed to that podcast.
I saw all sorts of threads on the board from February, but the issue seems unresolved, and I have been experiencing it for the last few days.
Nothing happens when I hit the "Get Episode" button or "Subscribe Free."
However, I can subscribe to new podcasts. And when I wanted to get an episode of a podcast I had already subscribed to, I deleted the podcast from my Library, went back to the ITunes store and hit "Subscribe for Free." The episode then downloaded into my Library.
What's going on? Any fixes yet?
    Thanks,
    mylesaway

If you can see the older episodes, but the Get button is missing, along with the Subscribe/Unsubscribe button, then you need to use the Repair option for iTunes.
Do not uninstal iTunes. Download iTunes again and start the instal process. At some stage, you will see an option to Repair iTunes. Use this and once it's finished, the missing Get and Subscribe buttons will be restored.

  • Submitting a single-episode podcast

I'm recording a series of podcasts for Scrabble players. The first one is http://www.spinandspell.com/podcasts/2letters.xml. When I submit it to the iTunes Store it says "The feed has no episodes." This a single-episode podcast. Is there a way I can submit it?

Thank you so much for helping me with this podcast, Roger. I used Podcast Maker to create it but then edited the code because it didn't look right. I added the episode title to the <item> section but not the description because that replicates the info in the <description> field. I also added the <subtitle> text in the <item> section to the <subtitle> field at the top so it appears in the Short Description field on the iTunes Review Page. I was able to submit it successfully to iTunes and and hope it will be accepted.

  • Recording - able to record single episodes only

We can record single episodes of shows only.  For example, I can record CNBC Fast Money for one day, but not for all episodes.  The program just won't do it.  When I go to record, I try clicking on "record all episodes" and nothing happens.  The red light indicating the show will record comes on only when I click on "record single episode."  Previously I recorded "all episodes" with no problem. When I went into Comcast chat the rep asked questions that indicated to me she had no clue what I was talking about.  Her name is Janica.

    Hi ppctcworks
It most likely looking for the solutioncenter.msi installer, since you do have the disc you are always welcome to click here and selec your operation system and download drivers, remember to save them somewhere you will be able to find them, double click on drivers to extract them, then search for "solutioncenter.msi" copy the location for file and paste it into location where it was looking for the Disc.

  • MBP  17" running OS10.9.2....... how do I reformat it and then instal OS 10.6.8 on it.... have put in SL disc and pressed C when starting but I cannot install the OS

I have MBP 17" running OS 10.9.2....... I need to have OS 10.6.8 so I can contiue running Quicken 2006. I have this on my Mac Pro but am switching to iMac and hence will dedicate laptop to finances. I pressed option when starting and got disk utilities and erased the HD..... I put in the Snow Leopard disc and pressed C when starting but then when I try and install it shows icon of my HD and says I cannot start up from that disk....... I get the same thing when I insert the #1 instal disc that came with the computer. How do I instal OS 10.6.8 (if I go recovery mode it will insatll 10.9.2 which I don't want on this laptop.
    Thanks for any help.

The grey disk says OS 10.6...... i tried it as well as the SL disk with the C pressed....... what happens is that it directs you to agree etc and then asks where you want it installed..... the icon of the computer HD however has the yellow exclammation sign saying I cannot start from that disk.
    My super drive is working.......
Since I need to get to Quicken for taxes etc what I have done presently is formatted a LaCie rugged drive, partitioned it and when I attach that drive to the MBP and start up again I was able to install on the external drive....I am presently downloading the combo upgrade that will take me to 10.6.8
I still don't understand why it wont instal on the MBP I i know you cannot go earlier than what the machine shipped with but since this is 10.6 it should.I have a Mac Pro with one internal drive running 10.9.2 and the other 10.6.8 and I'd select the earlier system to start when I wanted to do my finances. I have upgraded to an iMac and hence cannot use that for acessing the earlier system
Interestingly, I partitioned another LaCie drive and was able when running 10.6.8 on Mac Pro to install on the external drive...... however when selecting that ext. HD for starting it never did restart with it , always restartd using the 10.9.2 system that was actiually on the other disc.

  • Converting from single episodes to seasons

What happened to episodes already purchased when you convert from single downloads to buy a whole season? Dop you get credits for the episodes you purchased before iTunes offeres up the series as a single purchase?

It's not a true conversion problem that you have but more a space problem. Tables columns are created by default with the init. parameter NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS character semantics:
    If NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS = BYTE
then 1 character = 1 byte whatever the db character set
    If NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS = CHAR
then 1 character = 1 character size for the db character set.
If this parameter is changed it is only taken into account for newly created tables or columns: existing columns are not changed.
    See http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96529/ch2.htm#104327
The only solution I see is to enlarge your VARCHAR2 columns before running the import...

  • How to put movie from disc back into imovie?

Hi, I have just put a disc that I created using iMovie and iDVD back into my G4 using Disc Utility. Seems easy to burn an exact copy, but I would like to get the movie on the disc back into iMovie so I can edit it further and make it part of a new iDVD project. Is this possible?
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi, Christine,
Yes, you can do it. See this for some help/suggestions as to what to use and how to do it: http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?128@@.68b7d7a6
You will lose some quality but it may not be so much to bother you.
You should always save your finished movies back to the camcorder DV tape. That way, you can always reimport that footage into any new iMovie project.
Either way, you will not be able to do the tight editing as you could on the original iMovie, but you can certainly add it to other movies, insert new movies, and delete some portions of your first movie. Remember that the audio you added as separate tracks will now be incorporated into the video and will not appear as separate tracks under the video.
    Hope this is helpful!
