Single pixel white line across macbook pro retina screen

I have a Mid-2012 model of the Macbook Pro 15inch with Retina screen which is just out of 1 year warentee.
There has suddenly appeared a very thin white (pixelated) line across my screen - about 1/3 way down from the top.
Its constantly there, but more visible on a grey background.
I've contacted Mac about it and they say since its out of warentee they can't help!
Its literally 14months old... almost seems like the issue is perfectly timed to happen just out of warentee!
I'd be keen to hear if others have experienced similar problems with the retina screen or have found any solutions!

I am currently having the same issue.... I have already had my display replaced due to image retention and not I am seeing around 5 dead pixels with one of them being a cluster of them, but with mine when you run your fingernail over on of them you can feel an indent of something and my research tells me that this is caused by dust against the screen. But I have had previous MacBooks & iMacs and I have never had this before so it must be some sort of issue.......

I am hoping apple will replace the panel, I have already contacted the store and they were nice enough to order a replacement panel in stock for my visit, i have never had a problem with Apple Care before so I am confident they will be supportive in this case.

P.S if you want any chance of getting it sorted you need to book it into the Genius Bar before your warranty runs out and it is going to soon very soon mine runs out in August and after that you have to pay for repairs and it is probably going to be around £600ish at least.

White spots on macbook pro retina

Theres some weird white spots that have appeared on my macbook pro retina and it's really annoying, can someone tell what they are and how they got there as there is no external damage to the macbook or screen, everything else works perfectly, I do have 2 months apple warranty left but was wondering if I will be covered cause this is clearly a manufacturer fault. Macbook Pro Retina screen black lines

Hi everyone.
I have had my macbook pro retina since june 2013. I have had two strange experiences with the screen, all of a suddent after the screen went to sleep (on battery) and i turn it on again I get the screen filled with black and gray lines like this
and I cannot restore it to normal without turning it off and on again. I could take a screenshot though.
So I was wondering if you knew what it is due to and what should I do? My laptop is fairly new and I still have warranty.
It was purchased in New York but now I am in Copenhagen, Denmark.
We do not have a proper apple store, but some "Apple stores" which are affiliated with them and they normally ship them to Netherlands for repairing. Should I bring it in and get it fixed? Also I can do that here in DK too even though it was bought in New York right?

Green tint to Macbook Pro Retina screen.

I have a Macbook Pro Retina less than 2 months old, earlier today the screen started to get a green tint on everything. I already attempted adjusting the color profile, which didn't affect the greenness of the screen.

Ok, the EXACT same thing happened to me, although I sneezed all over the screen (gross) and then wiped it off with a windex covered paper towel. Then followed up with a damp microfiber towel to remove smudges. There was no way that water could have gotten in nor the windex.
So I raise you this question; did you use a microfiber cloth, and are you in a dry-cold or a dry-hot otherwise low humidity climate.
The reason I ask, theoretically if you did use a microfiber, had the computer on, and rubbed back and forth across the screen several times, you may have created static electricity, which may have interfered with the screen.
I found that after doing several power cycles (command+control+p+r+power) the green tint completely disappeared. I also noticed that the cat hair that flies around my house is not sticking to the screen anymore....

Fall 2013 Macbook Pro Retina screen freezing and crashing

Hello,
lately, I have been experiencing some screen freezes on my Macbook Pro Retina 15''... The screen just freezes, including the mouse pointer and then it doesn't respond to anything. I just have to restart the machine again. This happens sometimes and not every day, but still a few times a week. I just do normal things on my mac while I get this problem.
Also, just recently almost an hour ago, my screen just turned all white and it said "Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press any key to continue or a wait a couple minutes for it to reboot." This time, I was watching a movie when it happened.
I have also verified the disk in disk utility, but no errors.
What may be causing this issue? Hardware? Software? I also have applecare, but I'm eager to find out what's the problem before I hand it to the apple store.

Vertical Lines on MacBook Pro Retina Display

Pixelated Adobe Indesign on Macbook pro retina 13inch

Hi I have a Macbook Pro with Retina Display and I recently installed Adobe InDesign and I am suffering the pixelated look. The adobe update fixed photoshop but bridge and camera raw opened from bridge remain blurry. HOWEVER if i select open file in photoshop from bridge, camera raw opens up perfectly sharp. theres some major glitch going on and i start studying in 3 days and i need this sorted. any ideas? thanks for your time

The CS6 version of the Design Standard suite or a previous version?
AFAIK, everything in the CS6 Design Standard suite has been updated to work with Retina displays... Photoshop was the first and, with updates, the rest followed.

Macbook Pro Retina Screen Resolution Issues

I have just bought a retina display Macbook Pro (Early 2013) with OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion.
Before getting it, I did not realize what an effect it would have on the use of my existing programs, and had I known, I would have thought twice before switching from my non-Retina Macbook Pro. I have never had so many problems with a brand new computer. On my retina screen, programs such as Microsoft Office 2011, Adobe Creative Suite 5 and Acrobat Pro X run with an awful screen resolution and impossibile legibility. The pixelated graphics and image quality hurt my eyes, beyond the fact that I cannot see my lines, images and text properly in order to work with them.
In these programs, the "Open in Low Resolution" button is enabled permanatly and cannot be changed as it's option is ghosted out. I do not know how to make it look better or what to do. I cannot work using this low resolution and this issue has affected my productivity.

Macbook Pro Retina screen issues

I had the ghosting issue on my 15" retina, plus a weird trail issue when dragging items across the screen.
I had the entire screen and logic board replaced.
I picked it up today and the white is now extremely warm, it looks dirty, similar sort of white to my old 2007 Macbook. Compared to my iPhone 5 it looks almost yellow. I compared it against my brothers and partners Macbook Pro's (non-retina). The white on both their laptops are much cleaner and brighter.
I wanted a great screen and thus why I purchased the retina Mackbook Pro but this is has been a nightmare.
To add to it, during the repair they have inadvertantly broken the trackpad. The left click works OK sometimes and then suddenly, it feels like it's stuck in, there's no 'click' when I push it.
I want to take it back in but being a freelancer, it costs me everytime. I'm thinking of just asking them to replace the unit, but I'm not sure I fancy my luck.
What do you guys think? Stick with it or try my luck asking for a replacement?

I think I will take it in tomorrow. I feel like a dick, but it was so expensive, anything less than perfect and I know it will continue to bug me.
The graphical glitches were in Chrome and Illustrator. For example if I dragged something across the screen, all the text and stuff repeats. Although that's still an issue now, so I'm wondering if it's an issue with Illustrator.
But this yellow tint is really horrible, I feel like I'm on an old Mac with washed out colours.

Why does my MacBook Pro Retina screen display pixilated graphics when using the finder?

While this started just after the latest OS X update, each time I use the finder now to locate a graphic to upload, the graphic appears extremely pixelated. It does not matter which application I use to search and upload a graphic file, the graphic appears smaller and bleeds out. I just purchased the new Video Motion Pro video editing software, and every single graphic I upload to this application is pixelated. Has anyone else had any problems with their retina display after the last update?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Macbook Pro Retina Screen Problems

In July 2012, I got a Macbook Pro with Retina display with a one year Apple Care plan.
Within the past few months, shortly after my Apple Care ended, I have had a host of problems with the display. Occasionally during use, the entire scren will kind of blank or static out, and just show a ton of gray stripes and eventually flicker back to normal. Also, there are two tiny divits or chips in the screen. The thing is, there was never anything done to prompt these. One day I just opened it, and the first one was there, and a few months later the second one.
Because these are problems I have read about frequently (not to mention the image burning after I close certain programs that has been going on since I got the computer), even though my Apple Care expired, will Apple still repair or replace this, or am I totally out of luck?

Can't open Adobe cs5.5 .dmg on a 15inch MacBook Pro Retina screen

Hi there,
Hopefully someone can help.
I recently bought a 15inch retina screen new macbook pro after my old one started to die last week - I bought Adobe cs5.5 a few years ago and I'd really like to be able to install in on the new laptop so I can get on with my work. As there is no disc drive I downloaded the file from Adobe which took many hours and now as soon as I click on it it comes up with this.
I tried to use the disc utility to do something with it but wasn't really sure what I needed to do and buggered up the first download and had to try and get it again. I haven't had this problem with my old laptop - i'd even updated the os to be running the same so I don't know why it's having a problem with the .dmg and as I haven't had the problem before I don't really know what to do. If someone could help me out I'd be super grateful as I do have client work I need to get on with.

Me thinks you have tried to connect to a shortcut folder and not a genuine folder.
Note Mac OS X in Mac OS X 10.4 has 3 popular folder shortcut locations:
The leftmost column of the Finder window.
The horizontal toolbar on the top of the Finder window
The translucent bar which can be anchored on the side or bottom of the screen known as the Dock. These are not true folder locations, but only locations for shortcuts. When you click on a folder for a volume that is not mounted, or is a folder which was deleted it will behave in this fashion. Often if you click on it the right fashion, it will change to a question mark.
In addition if it is an alias to an existing folder that has no contents, it will behave this way from the three shortcut locations.
If you right click instead of the left click a folder, it may think you want to do something to the folder which you can't do. Make sure your mouse button functions properly as a Primary button on Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse.
Also make sure Universal Access is not turned on as it too can cause funny behavior in the mouse click actions, in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Universal Access.

Horizontal white line across the Satellite A screen

You can connect your notebook to external display to see if the same happen. if not it is the best evidence for my theory.
