Single report output in multiple excel tabs?

Hi all.
Can we design a template such that the excel output is populated into tabs?
Otherwise, do I need to write 3 templates and define 3 layouts to show in three reports instead of tabs.
The user doesnt want to run the report thrice(selecting layouts). Instead, he would like to run the report once . is there any way that I can merge these three templates into a single rtf document such that it gives output in 3 tabs.

Issue with Varchar2 field conversion for report output generated in EXCEL

Hello All,
I have an unique problem with one of my new reports for the User. The user wants the report output generated in excel data only(delimited data) format *(reports builder 10g)* .
Everything was fine until i encountered this problem, there was this field which has unique ID's(alphanumeric and numeric), when i tried to run the report and generate output in Excel the numeric ID's say for example *(41593497999679354429)* is converted in excel and displayed like *(2.5881E+19)* and after format cells in excel it displays *(41593497999679300000).*
The issue is only with 20 digits numeric ID's , if i append any special character to the end say '#' or '..' it shows the exact value along with the appended character. But the user insist they need only the value that is in the table. I am finding it hard to figure out, if any one of you have encountered the same issue or if any of you have any suggestions to overcome this excel conversion thing please do advice me.

Thanks for you response, but i already tried what you suggested, instead of appending single quote in front of ID, i did at the end prior with '#', it preserves the value if i add any character to the id but the appended value shows up too :(.
Well, i just got the solution and it did work, thanks to [Brian Hill|https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=651632] for the post, i did what exactly he said and it worked. I was so very happy and wanted to share with everyone.

Is there a possibility to create a template that creates a multiple number of Excel Tab Pages, and how? If not, will u add this feature in future realeses?

Excel templates are in the works. the current solution using an RTF template to get to Excel will not support the multiple tabs you are after.
the only option you have right now is to create an XSL template that will generate Excel conformant XML.
Alex provided the following recipe:
The recipe is the following:
1. Any Excel workbook can be saved as XML (all features are saved besides the macros).
2. Study the generated XML structure.
3. Generate XSL program and register it as "XSL-XML" template by using Altova or eclipse XSL plugin. Or an XSL-HTML template.
4. Register additional mime type for XML – application/vns.ms-excel.
5. Enjoy Excel workbooks.
Now its somewhat glib to just provide such a 10,000 feet overview but it can and has been done.

I need ur help........plz tell me how to convert rdf report output in excel sheet format currently it come in pdf format. actually oracle apps version 11.5.9 there is no option for xml publisher report that's why i m facing prob.
used:
report builder version : 6i
database : 9i
Report belong from AR module......................... Debtor Ledger Report of AR.
I hv tried Text,xml report output option but not worked.......plz give me idea how to resolve this issue...................................thanks

Forms sending report output horizantally in excel...

Hi....when I send my group above report output to exel it arranges each group horizantally. For example if there are two master groups 'A' & 'B' each of them having 500 child rows, then in excel fristly appears the Group 'A' with its 500 child records downwards. And group 'B' appears ahead of Group 'A' instead of down to Group 'A'. Is it not possible to arrange output in excel like that of oracle reports previewer???

Is there no one to answer this???

Query - How to output data to multiple Excel tabs?

Hello,
I have a quick question. Is it possible to build an ABAP query to send output data to multiple tabs in an Excel spreadsheet? I know this can be done at a single (first) tab level, but I am not sure if outputting data to multiple tabs is possible.
For example, the address data for the different European countries should be directed to different tabs such as U.K., France, Germany, etc based on the country of residence.
I appreciate your help with this.

I think it is possible
You define a common internal table with the address fields and based on the Language condition this table will be populated
call the fun module to donwload to excel in a PERFORM using this Internal table and Language as paramter
so that based on the language selection/condition the internal table will be filled from the data and that data will be passed to the fun module and downloaded to the file name given .
pass the different file names to the fun module along with the PERFORM statement, so that different files will be created based on language

How to paginate the Report output spanning multiple pages

We have a Report that has a custom Layout and it shows invoice information.
Our system has to generate an Invoice per day.
This Report is printed fine for single day.
But our users have 2 requests:
1. To print all the invoices for 1 month
2. To save them to file.
At least printing will do for now.
The problem I got is pagination.
When I made Month&Year as parameter and user selects 2001-OCT
to print all invoices in Oct,2001, the Report is unable to print one invoice per page. In between the layout is rolling over to multiple pages.
Is there a way I can control pagination or any settings?

We had the same issue. EP is trying to download an applet for the local file selection dialog and your browser is blocking it. Once you adjust your browser security you will see the pop-up to allow installation of the applet.

AR Aging report output format to excel

Hi,
Could any one please tell me that how to generate excel report based on standard AR aging report "Aging - 7 Buckets Report".
Requirement is output of the Aging - 7 Buckets Report report should be able to upload into excel and should be able to filter the columns.

Hello all!
I should write a program to display reports APAP output in specific MS Excel template. I read that you can do using BDS.
There are other ways to do this? What is the most elegant way?

It can be done with OLE or BDS.......
If you need a lot of formatting in your template like colours and borders etc then go for BDS as in case of OLE you need to code each and every property.

Generate Forms Output into multiple Excel Sheets

I have a Forms 5.0 application which I am currently web-enabling. The application output is in Microsoft Excel. The output can span multiple sheets depending upon the parameters selected by the user. I am using text_io package to generate a html file with links and anchors for different sheets. Is it possible to generate multiple sheets directly in Excel using a text file.

But I think this is not the solution for my problem.
I try to explain my problem again. I have a web template with filter, analyse table and infofield. The infofield contains the selected filter values. There is also a button for export into excel. In WAD 7.0 you have only to set several parameters for the export command and the export to excel works. However all web items will be transfered into the first excel sheet among one another.
Is it possible to export one web item into the first excel-sheet and the second web item into the second excel-sheet of the same excel workbook?

Reports Output in MULTIPLE Languages..

We have a customer with operating locations in China, Japan and USA. They are OK with using the application (Forms, Java etc) in English. But they have few Customer facing reports (Invoices, Statements etc.) that need to be printed in the local language (Both DATA and Labels).
So it is NOT just labels but also the data (right, even the item descriptions, styles, color) etc needed to be printed in Local Language.
I know one way we do this is by storing the data in multiple languages (Items Descriptions, Colors, Styles) in a table. But I am wondering if there is ANY Dynamic conversion utility that can be used at the report run time that can convert ENGLISH to local languages before printing.
Any suggestions?>

Hi Norman,
We have Siebel 8.0.0.8 implemented in ENU and FRA. I have an XLIFF for each language. However , when I run the report from the French application, the report generated has all the labels show up correctly in French. However, the LOV values still show up in English. If I set the Language Code parameter in the XMLP Report Server component to FRA, then the French LOV values show up in English and French reports.
How do I get the correct LOVs to show up on the correct language reports. Any ideas ?

2. Save the O/P to file.
3. And open the file with MS Excel.

How to download report output to excel file??

Hi all,
I have a problem with downloading a report output to an excel file? May i know is there any functions or methods to do it?
My situation is like this. I used Write function to print out the report. After user click on the execute button. The report output will show to the user in a table format. And there is one button 'Save To Excel' in the report output dipslay screen for user to click to save it into excel format.

Hi Rachel,
You can use FM GUI_DOWNLOAD for transferring the data from your report program into excel sheet.
And while saving give the filename extension as .xls.

BI Publisher bursting report Output stores in which table

Hi gurus,
I need to develop a functionality where in need to cut report output into multiple pieces based on the customer/invoice.
Like if i generate Pdf output of XML publisher report, then I need to cut again this report as per invoice number related to customer.
I know that bursting does this part and emails out. Based on the group it will trigger those emails to customer. Here i want to capture all those invoice wise pdf files into any clob custom table, which i will create. But I am not aware whether this files will be stored any else in the server of Oracle applications.
I want those pdf files need to be stored in to my custom tables else if already stores where can i find that information.

For Example
1. click on Edit.
2. This brings to a screen where you see templates defined for your report.
3. On the Right Hand side, one will 'View Thumbnails' and 'View s List'. Click on 'View a List'. Please make sure Excel output is part of outputs enabled for the template and also is the default output.
