Single Set of Credentials

Is there a way to set up eBusiness Suite (11.5.10.2) to use a single set of credentials in particular the users AD credentials so that only one username and password has to be maintained?
Thank you
Linda

I have a multiorg set-up with multiple set of books in an Oracle instance. I want to be able to export data for a single set of books into a new Oracle instance.

It is a bit unclear what you are sending these POs to the other system for? Is it for matching to invoices there? Is it for receiving into inventory there?
Are these two entities belong to the same parent but on two different oracle apps databases?
In essence what do they do with the PO that you are sending to them?
Why do you think there will be intercompany invoicing?

  • ICR - Single Sets (FBRC004)

    Hi All,
While maintaining the single set values in transaction FBRC004, is there a 'best way' to maintain these i.e. range vs single value?
We face an issue of continual maintenance and change control whenever we need to add an associated company vendor/customer number to the sets and are thinking that the use of a range of numbers will resolve that. The question is whether the use of such ranges will have a negative effect on system performance as opposed to the sue of single values to access table LFA1 and KNA1?
    Any advice will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kris

    Hello Kris,
The fewer entries in your set the better
If you simply want all customer and vendor accounts to be included you should set From to 0 (Zero) and To to ZZZZZZZZZZ.
These "sets" are not generated to contain actual values in this context. The specified values / ranges are simply used during processing. So deleting the single values and making it a single value range will probably speed up your program run...

  • How to set database credentials to form?

    Hi All,
I'm newbie em Forms. I'm facing a situation and I don't know how to solve it. I run a forms application in a giver browser and I'm always asked to type database credentials in order to connect to this database. In development time there's no problem, however, general users cannot have database user and password to be able to access the form.
Is there any way to set database credentials (user, password, database) in order to user not being asked to provide these info ?
    thanks a lot

    Hi,
Plz configure formsweb.cfg file in order to achieve this. Set the parameter 'userid=<YourDatabaseCredential>'.
    e.g. userid=scott/tiger@orcl

  • Route calls to two different CSQs, but show single set of Service Level stats on report

We have a single node UCCX 9.0.2 Premium environment to handle our ACD operations.  Our agents take inbound customer service, claims and sales calls for a few dozen of our clients.  All of these calls are currently taken by the same two teams of people regardless of which client it is for, with the sales calls going to one team and the customer service and claims calls going to the other team.  There is a Sales CSQ and Skill for each client, and a Customer Service CSQ and Skill for each client.  Currently the caller is presented with a menu giving two options...press 1 for customer service, press 2 for sales.
What we are looking at doing is adding a third prompt specifically for claims.  Claims issues are handled by the Customer Service team, but only certain members of the team.  Obviously I can create a new CSQ and Skill for Claims for each client, then have the new prompt route to the CSQ for Claims.
The challenging part is the reporting for this.  We have to report Service Level statistics for Customer Service calls (but not sales) for each client, to show whether or not we're meeting the service level agreement requirements.  The splitting out of claims calls to be handled by specific people is something being requested by our internal management, not the client.  But as far as the client is concerned those are customer service calls, they would count toward our customer service SLA, and they expect to see a single SLA statistic reported.
I know that it's only possible to add multiple skills to a CSQ and force agent selection based on a specific skill in CCE (not available in CCX).  But is there any way to script my way around this to get the same end result, and have the reporting data still reflect a single set of CSQ service level stats?

Thanks Aaron.  We're running HRC right now, but I've been dying to switch us to the version of CUIC that's built in to CCX for quite a while and it appears I may be able to do so soon.  I'm hoping to utilize some of the additional flexibility of the saved reporting templates in CUIC to massage the data formatting as needed.
CUIC Premium is something our management will be considering, but I'm anticipating the license for it being very expensive and probably causing them to eliminate it as an option.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to get my hands on a demo copy of it to try to "sell" it to them either.
Thanks again for your help Aaron.

  • Unable to set node credentials...

I have setup the server as an OD master, and up until now it hasn't had problems binding, although I haven't been able to get any users to authenticate for any services, other than my local admin account.
I haven't made any changes, but now when opening ServerPrefs, I get the following error:
"Unable to set node credentials for /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 with the record name server.mydomain.com$ There may be a problem with the Open Directory service."
Any ideas where I went wrong?

It isn't something that a patch is going to cure.
I believe it does have something to do with the network and probably therefore the ip address / naming as the authentication does seem to be tied to the network location.
I've managed to move things on a little in that I have bound user accounts on other machines such that when someone logs onto their laptop it will tell them they have an account on the server and provide a logon after which their account is bound and (I think) marked as 'managed' in their Preferences | Accounts. This provides additional sections in iCal and Address Book although these don't work. The only person who can log into the web stuff such as the wiki is the server admin and I still can't access the Server Preferences or authenticate the Server Admin so can't make much in the way of changes.
I've submitted my application to Apple for support using the card provided with the Mac Mini. This was last Thursday and I've not yet received confirmation that this is live. As soon as it is I'll be having a long conversation with Apple Support.
I sort of sympathise with Apple as the server is clearly at least an order of magnitude more complicated than the admin involved with just a desktop. Having said this, however, they do need to get this sort of thing sorted by making it slicker, providing more online support for these problems if they have any aspirations towards the smaller office or even home environment which don't have dedicated IT support staff.

  • Unable to set node credentials for /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 with record name n`.

When starting Server Preferences, I receive a window with the following text:Unable to set node credentials for /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 with record name n`. There may be an error with the Open Directory Service.
This started to occur after I used the command changeip to change the ip of the service.
I've tried (Re)starting Open Directory Service, but that doesn't resolve it.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this error? I'd like to be able to user Server Preferences again!

One of our servers (10.6.8)  that had been running for months suddenly started generating that error message when trying to access Server Preferences.  Workgroup Manager, which seems to use the same login information, accessed just fine. We tried deleting access information in Keychain, to no avail. What finally worked for US was:
    - Via Server Admin, (in Open Directory > Settings > General) change the Role: Open Directory from Master to Standalone
    - This (for us) then restored access to Server Prefs
    - Use Server Admin to change the Role back to Master
Warnings - 1)  backup first  2) you will have to reinstall the master password, and  3) ALL accounts were lost and had to be recreated.

  • I'm new to Mac's and I find the display's just slightly too small. I'd like to increase the size for all my program. Is there a single setting that I can change?

I'm new to Mac's and I find the display's just slightly too small. I'd like to increase the size of my display for all my programs. Is there a single setting that I can change as a default setting?

You can drop the resolution a little, but it makes everything blurry.
OS X isn't as friendly like Windows is to give some UI adjustment, one of many major complaints about the platform that has gone unheeded for years now.
As a lifelong Mac user who's eyes are going due to age, I'm really liking Windows 7 more and more every day.
If you use Firefox, NoSquint and Theme Font & Size Changer add-ons, with a nice persona that makes better contrast, tweak the FF toolbars, you can at least make your web surfing tolerable on Mac's.
Also you can set a Control key in System Preferences > Universal Access plus a scroll wheel mouse, if you need to zoom in/out certain areas of OS X, however for a pernament UI scale solution there is none that's practical, unless you have a large room, a projector and a smooth wall.
A larger monitor won't work up close neither, however dropping the resolution and sitting back a bit might sharpen the images a bit.
The UI really needs to be adjustable and it's not.

Thank you for responding. This is what we are using in a small company a Cisco Switcher, and don't have a router.
If you're getting connections off of the network out to the Internet, then yes, there is a router involved. Somewhere.
MacMini server I have an IP address of 169.254.xxx.xx, before IP address was 192.254.xxx.xx.
That IP address implies that the box isn't getting an IP address from a DHCP server; that's the self-assigned block. (Officially, these addresses are in the Automatic Private Address Configuration Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) IANA reserved range.)
Which implies that at least two problems lurk.
Mac OS X Server must have a static IP address. Not DHCP-assigned dynamic addresses.
And a DHCP server isn't answering the IP address requests. (Well, not unless the DHCP server is passing out addresses in the self-assigned block, and that wouldn't likely be considered best-practice. More likely an IP address from a DHCP address pool allocated within a subnet somewhere in the 10.0.0.0/8 or 172.16.0.0/12 or (less desirably) 192.168.0.0/16 private blocks.
The Firewall is not turned on. Its purpose is for guest to access files, without deleting or modifying it.
When you're debugging problems, simplify. Divide the problem. With network services, test the lowest levels of the stack. Then work your way up the stack; toward higher-level services and mechanisms. Then add more parts and pieces, and DHCP and related.
IP hosts operating at 169.254.0.0/16 addresses (for longer than it takes to get an IP address from DHCP) usually implies that the network configuration is invalid or the DHCP server is not working.
I did not expect that Open Directory would be a big problem.
If DNS services or IP routing is misconfigured, then the whole rest of the stack will be unstable at best. The configuration order (and debugging order) involves functional IP networking and hardware, first and foremost. Then having functional DNS. Then Open Directory and then Kerberos. Then the rest of the stack.

  • Installation of SBO v 8.8 on laptop failed to set db credentials

Hi,   I am trying to install 8.8 as a local server/client system on my laptop to use for demonstrattions etc...  I have installed SQLEXPRESS on my laptop, I have also installed the SBO Server tools. I have used the service manager to start the license server.
However, when I use the licence manager setting window to configure security I try to enter the connection settings. (Db Type, DB Server, Username and password)   I enter what I believe to be the correct settings but I get a message when I press the Add button.
"Failed to set db credentials server: SIMONHILL-VAIO\SQLEXPRESS, error -1102"
So i cannot save these settings.
I then try and install SBO Server on my laptop.  I get as far as where is asks for the server name, db userid and password.  I enter the credentials and get an error message
"The connection to the specified server has failed.  Check your password and that  the server exists on the network"
I checked the protocols in the SQL server configurartion manager,  and enabled "named pipes", but I steill get the error.
    What am I doing wrong??
    Thanks in advance!
    Simon
PS: I am on Windows 7, which I know is not properly supported yet, but I do not think this error is to do with the operating system version, instead I think it is more likely I have not done something correctly.  I have been following the instructions in the admin guide..

    Hi Simon
Have you checked the username and password you're using for SQL in the SQL Management Studio. If you can connect to SQL Express with SQL Server Authentication then you shoudl be able to connect to B1.
The other possibility I can think of from your description is the UAC in Windows 7 (and Vista). Your admin password may not necessarily have access to SQL. Maybe do some reading on this?
Otherwise, We'll need more detail of the steps you went through (and where you got to) to assist.
Good luck, and let me knwo if I can helf further.

  • REG: Creating customer stock for different material codes has an single set

    Hi FRIENDS,
we  are purchasing finished items from our vendor in numbers (Eg. Item Number 1 to 6 (all different items and having different item codes)) and selling it to our customer in a set ( 1 set contains all this 6 items and we have code for this Set).  Please let me know how to create the customer stock for these items in the store as the store shows stock for 7 different  items, not in a set.
Please let em know if any more information is nedded

    hi dan,
as per your requriment you can have all MRP viewsfor HAWA material type.
that means you are purchasing, use HAWA for finished goods in SAP system.
if you are having different item codes seperately for each item.
take one packing material called CARTON and maintain UOM as 6 items and you can pack the same in BOM.
use PP -PHANTOM - BOM which should add all the 7 materials in & gives one single material as OUTPUT.
use 561 GMT and upload that material as a final finished goods and in MMBE you can see only one called CARTON inside it set of 6 materials will be there.
BUT BE AWARE OF COSTING OF THE MATERIAL because each material will be having the its price. So discuiss with PP as well as FICO consultants.
whether you will cost the total set of carton or individual material
    go ahead
    test and confirm
    this clears your issue

4.3.12 Setting Credentials for the Job System to Work with Enterprise Manager
Windows systems require that you set the correct credentials for the Jobs system to work properly in Enterprise Manager. By default, the Management Agent service is installed as a LocalSystem user. When submitting jobs, such as stopping or starting the database, the user submitting the job must have the Log on as a batch job privilege enabled.
Perform the following steps to establish that privilege for any operating system user who needs to submit an Enterprise Manager job.
    1.     Start the Local Security Policy tool:
o     Windows 2000: From the Start menu, select Control Panel, Administrative Tools, then Local Security Policy.
o     Windows 2003: From the Start menu, select Administrative Tools, then Local Security Policy.
o     Windows XP: From the Start menu, select Control Panel, Administrative Tools, then Local Security Policy.
o     Windows Vista: From the Start menu, select Programs, Administrative Tools, then Local Security Policy.
    2.     Under the Security Settings list, expand the list to Local Policies.
    3.     Under Local Policies, double-click User Rights Assignment.
    4.     Under Policy, search for the Log on as a batch job policy.
If the Management Agent service is installed as any other user (that is, not LocalSystem), then, in addition to granting the Log on as a batch job privilege, you must grant the "Windows service" user the following three privileges:
o     Act as part of the operating system
o     Adjust memory quotas for a process (This setting is named Increase memory quotas on Windows 2000.)
o     Replace a process level token
    5.     With each policy, perform the following steps:
    a.     Double-click the policy name.
    b.     In the Properties dialog box, click Add User or Group.
    c.     In the Select Users or Groups dialog box, enter the name of the user (for example, jsmith, administrator, and so on.)
    Note:
On Windows Vista, the name of the dialog box is Select Users, Computers, or Groups.
    d.     Click Check Names to check that you have entered the name correctly.
    e.     Click OK.
    6.     Click OK to exit the Properties dialog box, then exit Local Security Settings and Administrative Tools.
    7.     Restart your computer.
If a user exists locally and at the domain level, Windows gives the local user precedence. To use the domain user, qualify the user name with the domain name. For example, to use the user joe in the ACCOUNTS domain specify the user name as ACCOUNTS\joe.
