Single user is not able to print PDF files.

I have the following situation at our organisation for one of our users.
Printer:
Kyocera FS1030D
Kyocera KM-C3225
I have one user that is not able to print any PDF files in our network. (User Chris)
Printing a Word document or Notepad works fine.
To be specific:
The user is mainly using Windows 7 Pro 64 bits.
We also have a Citrix environment.
When this user is trying to print a PDF file we follow the following steps:
Open any PDF file.
Go to: File -> Print -> Select the printer to use.
Hit Print button.
Now the pop up comes up loading the PDF file to be printed. (The percentage bar)
After this bar disappears nothing happens.
The print que does not show on the bottom right hand of the screen.
If you open the printer que there is no document that needs to be printed.
We tested printing a PDF file on a different computer with user account Chris, but no success.
We tested printing a PDF file on the same computer with another user account, success.
We tested printing a PDF file in our Citrix environment (still on Chris his pc), success.
So as a wrap up: Printing with another user account works fine. The issue seems to be located in the user profile, but is not specific to a single computer.
We tested the following.
Print as Image setting.
Remove the print drivers and reinstalled them.
Renamed the Windows folders where the drivers are installed.
Removed Adobe Acrobat version 9 and installed version 10.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Bill@VT,
Thanks for your reply. I have checked and the current installed version is 10.1.4. I tried updating but I get the message that the there are no new updates available.
Also I tried to find a 64 bits download but unfortunately I cannot find a 64 Bits install file.

Doesn't work in Google Chrome either.
Looks that the page has a lot of protection measures (context menu is disabled) and DIVs that overlay each other, so it is possible that the print routine only sees an empty DIV and not the image or the real page.<br />
That big image consists of two parts as you can see via Tools > Page Info > Media and the inspector.

  • Not able to print pdf files into landscape orientation

I am working on a R12 imnplementaion where I have to print labels on Zebra printer in landscape orientation using acroread through PASTA printing. Oracle Application uses xml publisher to generate these pdfs.  All the printouts come in portrait orientation even I choose landscape.  I have used acroread version 5 and 9.3.3. Can someone help me on this? I have used below syntaxes:
    I was using
acroread -toPostScript -pairs -shrink -landscape BTLYOMSHIPLABEL_3479320_1.PDF BTLYOMSHIPLABEL_3479320_1.PS |lp -d label
    and It was not working.
I found a hit on metalink and it says that we should not use –pairs in the command line.  If I remove –pairs, then we can’t pass {inline} {outline} parameters.  Then I have tried all the below commands:
    cat BTLYOMSHIPLABEL_3479320_1.PDF |acroread -toPostScript  -landscape |lp -d label
    cat BTLYOMSHIPLABEL_3479320_1.PDF |acroread -toPostScript  -shrink -landscape |lp -d label
    Thanks & Regards
    Swadesh

    Hi Swadesh,
    Try using the -rotateAndCenter option.
    cat A.pdf | acroread -toPostScript -shrink -rotateAndCenter | lp -d <PRINTERr>
    OR
    acroread  -toPostScript -pairs -shrink -rotateAndCenter A.pdf - | lp -d <PRINTER>
Let me know if this helps.
    Regards,
    Rishi

  • Not able to print PDF files in Adobe Reader or Acrobat 9. Using an HP 6500 printer.

HP  advises that the problem is that the size of the file created in Adobe is not suported by the printer. Problem started when I updated Adobe Reader. I have reloaded Adobe Reader and loaded a trial copy of Acobat 9. Still will not print.

did you get an answer to this one?  I am having the same problem.

  • Users are not able to save pdfs after editing - Adobe XI. They do not use the Win7 explorer preview pane.  If they completely close the Win7 explorer window, they can save - Adobe XI thinks the preview pane is open when it is not.

Users are not able to save pdfs after editing.  Product is Adobe XI, OS is Win7 64-bit.  When saving, an error pops up that the file cannot be saved, it is in use.  If they save as a different name, it works.  Found several forums/blogs/etc that suggest the problem can be solved by closing the Window7 explorer preview pane.  They don't use the preview pane.  I figured out that if they completely close the explorer window, they can save.  But this means they have to open and close explorer for each file.

Hi, I would like to chime in and say that this problem has not yet been resolved. It is extremely annoying when all I do is highlight a document in the file explorer and I get 5 errors (evenly spaced out about 20 seconds apart telling me that "Microsoft
Word Cannot Start (24)". These errors persist even after windows explorer and word are closed. And I don't want to start terminating processes just to make them stop every time.
I'm a little frustrated with this problem and the other problems I've encountered with MS Office 2013 with file corruption, crashing, 2010 compatibility issues, and the whole host of errors when trying to actually do WORK with Word.
I do work with long, complex reports in Word because that's the best way available for myself (and my coworkers) to use. However, I sincerely regret upgrading to Office 2013 because of it. I love it, all of its features, and its interface, but I simply cannot
    use it without problems.

  • I'm not able to open PDF files in Adobe Reader XI.

I recently updated to Adobe Reader XI and now I can't open any of my PDF documents or PDF e-mail attachments.  When I click on a document I now get a window that asks if I want to allow this file to open.  I click yes and get a monstrousity the likes I've never seen.  It blacks out my screen for a couple seconds and then I get a mixture of my desktop, task bar, and a window wanting to know if I want to open this with Protected Mode disabled.  It only fills 3/4 of the screen, the items all all blown-up in size, and are distorted.  In playing with this I have gotten notes that I have an "Incompatable Application" and "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDS Server".  On occasion I will get an Adobe Reader screen that is completely greyed out with no content in it and after a couple of seconds it goes off.  Other times I got the window about Protected Mode and I've clicked on to disable it but that doesn't work either.  I removed Adobe Reader XI and re-installed Adobe Reader X and I still have the same problem which I did not have before.  I 'm running Windows 7 Professional and have McAfee anti-virus, which I have disbled on one occasion during download and that I still had the same problem.  I went to program files to find the End User License Agreement and try to see if I needed to click on 'Accept" but it tells me the file does not exist.  I even tried using System Restore to take me back to before I did the upgrade to Adobe Reader XI and I still have this problem.  I'm at the end of my knowledge level and because these files are needed in my business I'm only able to operate at about 50%.

  • Hi,am not able to open PDF Files in Mozilla Firefox without using plugins...I need Solution

Hi,am not able to open PDF Files in Mozilla Firefox without using plugins...I need Solution

    Hello,
Please see the support article below for full information on viewing PDF in Firefox:
[[View PDF files in Firefox without downloading them]]
If you want to use Firefox's built in PDF viewer (i.e. not a plugin) then you will need to ensure that any PDF plugins are uninstalled from Firefox and that 'Preview in Firefox' is selected as the Action for PDF files (see screenshot below).
I hope that helps. Let me know if not.

  • Not able to open PDF files

Not able to open PDF files. Before I switched to Lion OS, clicking on a pdf would automatically open it in Adobe Reader. Now I either get a black page or I get just the first page of the document but still in Safari. I would like the pdf to open Adobe Reader. I have tried some of the suggestions in other threads such as deleting all PDF items from Library/Internet Plug-Ins. That did not work.

    Hi ,
Make sure to back up your Mac before messing around with any system files.
Press and hold COMMAND + TAB to bring up your Mac’s application switcher, then keep tapping the TAB key while still holding down the COMMAND key until the selector lands on Finder. When it does, go ahead and release the COMMAND and TAB keys.
Click on the Go menu at the top of the screen, select “Go to folder…” then copy and paste this folder “path” into the pop-up window:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
A new folder window will appear, showing a list of all the browser plug-ins installed in Safari—and at the very top (if the list is sorted alphabetically), you should see one or more files labeled “AdobePDFViewer.” Drag the old Adobe plug-ins into the Trash, then quit and restart Safari.
Try opening a PDF in Safari again—and yes, it should work, using Safari’s own “native” PDF reader.
Now, want to open PDFs in Safari using a fresh Adobe PDF Viewer plug-in? Try this:
Visit this page to download and install the latest (and free) version of Adobe Reader.
Quit and re-launch Safari, then open a PDF file directly in the browser; when you do, the PDF should open using your new Adobe Reader plug-in.

What OS? Have you tried a repair and updates from the HELP menu? The updates may be the key.
