Single work item in the Manager's inbox for weeks times

Hi all,
I am sure lot of people might have faced this issue.
Currently we are on EP 6 SP 20
R/3 4.7
MSS B.P 60.1
Scenario: Employee enters times in ESS through CATS. MAnagers ened to approve time
WF assigned to CATS: 20000460
Issue: Every time an employee saves his time ( CATS profile set to release times on save, a work item is triggered and the manager sees 5 work item for each mployee for the 5 days. Manager sees too many work items in his inbox. The employees have been advised to save times on a daily basis.
Possible solutions Define cats profile to release the times manually. In that case the employee will have to release the times every Friday. We doubt that employees might forget to release the times and hence we want to use release on save for CATS profile.
Question: IS it in any way possible to trigger only one work item for week rather than 5 work items even when having release on save opition selected for the CATS profile.

Workflow loop, return the work item to the inbox, instead of automatically executing the work item

Hello all,
Within a workflow I have a loop. Inside that a foreground step is executed. Then a condition step is executed to decide if the workflow should continue, stop, or return the work item to the inbox.
This new workflow was modeled after an existing workflow that is doing just that. Unfortunately, this new workflow is not returning the work item to the inbox. Instead, it just keeps displaying the screen that is called by the function module that is called by the business object method that is executed when the foreground task runs.
I've included a Word document with further detail in a number of screen prints. Hopefully this is something that will experience workflow developer may have seen before and know how to correct.
Unfortunately I have done very little workflow development and don't have a clue what might be causing this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bruce,
As per your design, If you are approving or returning, the workflow loops back to the step "Approver - stat key approve".
Suppose you are one of the approver for this step ""Approver - stat key approve" and if you click on approve or return, then it will try to create a new workitem for "Approver - stat key approve" step.
As you are one of the approver again, the window opens immediately instead of reaching the inbox of all other approvers.
Include a dummy activity step in the "approve & return" condition outcome.
Active the workflow & refresh the buffer SWU_OBUF.
After this, when you click on return it will not open the same screen again. Instead it will be reaching all the approvers' SAP inbox.

How to include sap work item in the email sent by workflow - WS01700044

Hi,
In FSCM Dispute Management, we have a requirment to include the sap work item in the email being sent by the workflow - WS01700044.
The underlying task in it is TS01707928. This Task sends an email to the outlook as well as work item to SAP inbox.
We want to include Sap Work item in email being sent to the outlook.
This will help the users to process the workitem directly from the email instead of going to SAP Inbox to process the work items.
Please suggest the possible ways.

Sadly, I believe this will require a bit of development to make it happen. The project I'm on now...we are finding that to get it to do what we want it to do, a development to customize the email message to include all the case fields is required.

Two work items are generating in approver inbox ?

iam working on PR Workflow. I used the user decision to the Approver for approving. when i relased in me54n. it will go to the approver. but every time two work items are generated in Approver inbox.
I used the Responsible agent and possible agent is the same user.
Please how can i control this ?

I guess this could be happening because of any of the following reasons.
1) if you are using a custom workflow for PR release check the standard one is deactivated.
2) In SWEL check the event linkage for your BUS there could be 2 of them, Delete one of them.

Hi Rajendra,
Usually in R/3 if you want to transfer the workitems to other user , you can just select the workitem and then click on "Forward" button. This will pop-up a box to enter the "User" ID of the other user to whome you want to transfer the Workitem. A Similar button is available in UWL as well.
So, in UWL when you click on the Workitem, it will should give you a button "Forward" and by clicking on that you should be able to transfer the workitem you the other user.

Single work item view containing all different work item types

Hello,
I've been trying to create a view which should contain all different work item types that are assigned to "me" and not closed. I've created a type projection and the view itself and it displays all work items. The problem I've got is that I can't set a critera
that only shows items that aren't closed as all work item types have their own statuses instead of one common work item status.
Does anyone any ideas around how to solve this?

I can not justifiy to my clients to purchase an application from 3k to offer something that should be trivial in an application such as service manager. Furthermore, i need sort all my active work items (IR, SR and MA) in accordance with the target date
calculated by SLO.
The WorkItem class has a relathionship to the type SLA Information, but type 1 to many. Anyway I could create a view that displays work items and DisplayName field from SLA (basead on first row in the relationship). However I could not display more fields.
If I could display TargetEndDate and Status from SLA Information, it would be a reasonable solution for my client.

and I have the recovery.cfg file from NI with this steps :
1. Copy the recovery.cfg file, found in the zip folder attached at the bottom of the email, to the thumb drive.
2. With the cRIO device powered off, plug in the USB drive to the controller.
3. Hold down the reset button while powering on the controller. Continue holding the reset button until the status light turns on, then release the reset button.
4. Wait for the controller to boot. This should take less than a minute.
5. Check that the password has been reset to the default. (you will still be prompted for a password even if the default is blank)
6. Reinstall software to the controller. Using the USB reset will leave the system in a state where it is unable to run LVRT
I have followed the procedure as mentioned
Result: the LED "Status" is permanently blinking.

Custom web parts in SharePoint 2013 becomes inactive when the session is idle for long time.

We have a search center site with custom web parts and custom master pages. When the session is inactive for long time all the custom web parts in the page doesn't work, unless we close the browser and open it. Where as this is not the case with the
OOB web parts. We are not able to identify the root cause as it works with OOB web parts and not the custom web parts.We were able to find that by increasing the session timeout of the web application we can avoid this issue.We do not want to increase the
session timeout as the OOB web part works perfectly even when the user session is idle for long time.Is there any other alternative where we can acheive the same for custom web parts when the session is idle for long time?

Hi Saranya,
According to your descirption, my understanding is that when the session is long time idle ,then custom web part will not work.
I suggest you check if you have enable the session in the Page Level in the web.config. By default SharePoint disable the session state.
In the web.config, you will see <page enableSessionState> tag. You can modify like below and test if it works.
<pages enableSessionState=”true” ….. />

Since your's isn't one of these, I'm hoping this is in reference to the Web Agent's ORDWEBUTL package, in which case, you can use an offset from GMT instead. For example, here in New Hampshire, USA, we are 5 hours behind GMT, so the offset would be -5, while in France, it would be +1 as they are one hour in front of GMT. According to my Windows clock, Beijing is GMT +8. Of course, you'll have to figure daylight-savings time into the equation, if you have to deal with such changes.
