SIP Inspection Required

Hi everyone,
Do I need to enable SIP inspection as per this article?
We're trying a proof-of-concept install for the Cisco Mobile iPhone client and the Cisco Cius, since we do not have any corporate WiFi we're utilising the AnyConnect clients that are available on both via our ASA5510 appliances that are running 8.3(1). However, we are unable to make calls via the VPN and find that the call initially rings but the call isn't fully setup when answered (The calling side will just continue to ring).
I'm seeing TCP connections (See attached syslog messages) being denied for port 5060 on the basis that there is no existing connection as the previous TCP connection is torn down. Hoping I can get some confirmation here before giving it a go.
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
Normally you do not need to have inspection over VPN:
1) Typically you do not have NAT over VPN (typically!)
2) All the traffic is allowed over VPN by default (there is a sysopt for VPN traffic to ignore ACLs)
Now if it really is a problem of inspection, it's hard to say.
Did you try skinny instead of SIP? (Just out of curiosity).

  • SIP inspection on ASA cluster

    Hi
I have set up clustering on 2 ASA 5555-x firewalls and just saw on the cisco site that SIP inspection is not supported. My organization provides a voip solution that requires SIP. Does anyone know a work around for SIP on an ASA cluster?
I look forward to your response.

    Hi Smetieh,
You need a policy inspection for sip, please follow the example below.
    class-map cls-SIP
     match default-inspection-traffic
    policy-map pmap-SIP
     description My-SIP Policy
     class cls-SIP
      inspect sip
    service-policy pmap-SIP interface outside
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • SIP Inspection and dynamic port opening after re-invite

    Platform: ASA 8.3(2)
    Hello,
I have SIP devices along with SipTrunk and media endpoints. I am having issues with the ASA not dynamically opening (sip inspect enabled) UDP ports for RTP after a SIP re-invite causes the media endpoints to change within SDP.
    The problem as below.
Initial SIP invite setups properly with ports dynamically opened between the media endpoints in the ASA
Re-inivite from the SIP device causes the media endpoints to change within the SDP
ASA blocks ports associated to the new media endpoints
I can resolve this by allowing the ports in the ACL, but suprised this is not working as re-invites to change media endpoints is to be expected in SIP conversation.
    Regards,
    AJ

Below is the script you can use to reproduce this. Points worth mentioning.
Initial invite sets up the media between SIP Trunk and a media device ( 10.1.2.150) in the inside network, SIP signalling will be with 10.1.2.100. At this poit RTP flows freely between the SIP Trunk and the media device.
If the call is fax, a re-invite will occur and this will cause the IP address to change in the SDP. The new media endpoint becomes 10.1.2.151 (This device is SIP and Media (T38) capable).
For every SIP call we establish 10.1.2.150 will be used for media, we do not want to change this behaviour.

  • SIP inspect and PJSIP

We recently had a vendor switch from Cisco SIP to PJSIP. After the migration it was necessary for us to add an access list to allow UDP port range 60000 65535. To the best of my knowledge this part of the reason we enabled SIP inspect several years ago on the Cisco ASA. I saw evidence of these ports being denies in the syslog before I added these ports to the access-list. I am sorry to report that our log history does not go back far enough to see the pack flow before the change.
Any suggestion you might have to assist me in my research would be appreciated.
    ASA 5520 ASA Version 8.2(5)33
      inspect rtsp
      inspect sip

    Hi,
One of the reasons for the SIP inspection is for the ASA device to dynamically open Pin Holes (Secondary Channels) for the Audio Communication trough the ASA device without having to open the huge range of ports.
I don't think PJSIP would be supported as an inspection protocol and hence you would have to open these HIgh Range ports through the ASA device.
    Hope that answers your query.

  • QM Inspection requirement?

    Hi All,
We have a requirement as given below...
A vendor and/or a material must be selected (manually) and then this vendor or material
must be flagged at the goods receipt for quality inspection.
My client does not want to implement the quality inspection functionality in SAP QM. Can we achieve the above requirement in any way without QM inspection ?
    Even a workaround would do.
    Please guide...
    Regards,
    V S

    One More Solution: -
First Create Good receipt with movement type 103 - Good receipt in Blocked stock.
After checking material quality then release material with movement type 105 - Good receipt from blocked stock to release stock.

  • Communicator connection issues, sample OCMS-SIP application required

    Hi,
I have installed OCMS 10.1.3.3 in my machine as Standalone Developer mode. I am able to connect using Oracle Communicator from the local machine. But if I try Oracle communicator from other machines, it's failing to connect. Communicator (Local Install) connects and disconnects automatically (frequently - within 10seconds). Pl see the log messages attached at the end.
Also can anybody please provide me source code of any sample OCMS - SIP application.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi
Start the OCMS installer and install SCE for Eclipse.
Then you will get access to some sample code.

  • Sale Order / Project specific Inspection Plan

    Dear All,
I want to create Sale order or Project specific inspection plan for a material. This is because, my  customers want some specific inspection requirements for individual materials, which are assigned to Sale order or project. I want to inspect the material after receipt for these specific account assignments. I do not want to assign the customer because, my single customer may give different sale orders with different inspection requirements.
But in inspection plan, i can not see the assignment of sale order / project as i can see in Rate Routing.
Can anybody tell me about this?
    Regards,
    Prashant Kolhatkar

Create a Material ONE as Configurable Material. Assign 300 Class Type Class with Charcateristics created through CT04 Transaction which in turn linked to MICs.
Create another Material TWO with same Class but not configurable but is a Variant of Material ONE (MRP 3 View)
Maintain Configuration Profiles for both Materials.
In Material TWO, for insp. type details click on Insp. by Config indicator.
Whenever a Sales Order is created, maintain the requirements from the Customer in Characteristics and save the Sales Order. Against this Sales Order whenever a GR is made for respective Production Order inspection lot is created against the specifications given by Customer and not that maintained in inspection plan.

  • Help needed in PI sheet requirment

    Hello Experts,
We have one specific requirement for PI sheet for our client (4.6 C)
The business want to sendquality information (inspection requirements ) like MIC, Insp. Method,Specifications etc. for 04 inspection lot and they want to see all these information in tabular format on PI sheet
In SAP, there is no standard way to generate instructions for GR inspection characteristics . SO we planned to use user exit to populate the characteristics values in instruction category for inspection.
If we use Repeated data request and table size,  we could only populate first MIC and its related information in first row of table and it is getting repeated for multiple rows ( Exit is getting called only once).
We cannot create multiple instructions for each MIC as well , since it will generate individual table for each one .
Has anyone worked on such requirement before ? Any help will be appreciated
    Thanks,
    Sachin C

  • Source inspection configuration

    dear all,
what is source inspection and vendor evaluation, please give me details of configuration steps for it.
    thanks in advance

    *What is Source Inspection*
What is source inspection and what are the setup required to do in system to implement successfully?
A source inspection is a quality inspection in which Buyer required the quality check before the material received. So that he performed the quality inspection at the vendoru2019s Location.
To setup source inspection, you should define inspection type (01 and 0101) in material master QM View. (MM01)
When requesting source inspection, include the following information:
    a)  Purchase order number
    b)  Item number
    c)  Part number
    d)  Quantity of parts to be inspected
    e)  Date source inspection is required
    f)   Types of inspection  required
         - In Process
         - Final
         - Interim
         - First Article Inspection (FAI)
    g)  Contact name and phone number
Go to transaction QI07 and give the material code, vendor, plant and opening period. When you execute the transaction you would find open purchase orders for the given input data. Select the Purchase Order you wish to perform Source Inspection and choose Create Inspection Lot. These inspection lot triggers for inspection type 0101. Against this inspection Lot perform result recording QE01 & QA11.
When finally you received Goods at your premises, then inspection lot will triggered automatically (01) and perform result recording QE01 & QA11
How to do Source Inspection in QM
Can any one guide how to do Source Inspection in QM. What are the settings required to be done and can the lot for source inspection be trigerred manually or automatically.
The Q-Info Record is used to trigger a source inspection lot for a material/vendor and plant. Under the tab key Inspection Control in Q-Info Record, you would find vendor source Inspection and under that select the inspection type desired for source inspection (say 01,0101) and give the lead time required to perform the  inspection in days (say 10 days).  If you do not want to trigger an inspection lot @ GR for a source Inspection lot then check the box (Source Insp. No Gr).
Ensure that the inspection type selected @ source inspection is activated in the Material Master Record for the chosen material in the Quality Management View.
To trigger the lot manually you need to have some open purchase orders for the material/plant/vendor. Go to transaction QI07 and give the material code, vendor, plant and opening period. When you execute the transaction you would find open purchase orders for the given input data. Select the Purchase Order you wish to perform S.I and choose Create Inspection Lot.
This would trigger the lot and then it is QE01 & QA11.
    Vendor Evaluation for Purchasing
Define the weighting keys in SM30 - V_T147J.
Weighting keys 01 and 02 are defined in the standard system. You combine the following
weighting shares for the standard main criteria:
Main criterion     Key 01 Key 02
    Price                   1      5
    Quality                 1      5
    Delivery                1      2
    Gen. service/support    1      1
    Ext. service provision  1      2
Define the criteria in SM30 - V_T147G - Double click on the line items
In this step, you define the criteria by which the system computes scores for vendors and
specify whether the scores for the subcriteria are computed manually, semi-automatically, or
    automatically.
You can also store your own methods of computation for the scores for subcriteria in the
form of user exits. The enhancement MM06L001 is available for this purpose.
Define the scope of list in SM30 - V_T147M - Double click on the line items
Define Purchasing Organization data for vendor evaluations in transaction OMGL.
    An example :-
How the system calculates the score for the automatic subcriteria
    "On-Time Delivery Performance"?
The system uses the statistics-relevant delivery date in the purchase order
(Items -> Delivery Schedule) and the goods receipt date to calculate date variances.
You use the statistics-relevant delivery date, for example, if you know that the vendor
will not deliver the material as scheduled on September 15 but on September 30. Enter the
delivery date as September 30, but enter the statistics-relevant delivery date as
    September 15.
In calculating the score for on-time delivery performance, the system will then not use
the actual delivery date, but the statistics-relevant delivery date. This has a negative
effect on the score for this goods receipt.
However, materials planning and control uses the realistic delivery date (September 30)
which the vendor will actually adhere to.
The system considers only goods receipts against purchase orders and scheduling agreements
into stores and the release of GR blocked stock into stores. In the standard system, these
are the movement types 101 and 105.
Minimum Delivery Percentage - OMGL in the On-time delivery section
If you do not want a vendor to receive a very good score if he delivered the goods on time,
but did not deliver the required quantity, you can maintain a minimum delivery percentage
    in Customizing.
Assume you set the Min. del. perc. parameter to 60% and the vendor delivers the goods on
time, but only 55% of the ordered quantity. Although the goods receipt is punctual, it is
not included in the calculation of the vendoru2019s score for on-time delivery performance. So
that the non-scoring of the on-time delivery performance criterion in this case does not
bring an unfair advantage in comparison with a poor score, the vendor is awarded a low score
for quantity reliability. On-time delivery performance is thus always to be seen in
    conjunction with quantity reliability.
Standardizing Delivery Date Variance  - OMGL in the On-time delivery section
To rate delivery date variances in days, maintain the Std.del.time var. parameter.
If you assign a lower standard value, this means that relatively low date variances produce
high percentage variances. If you set a higher standard value, this results in a relatively
    low percentage variance:
    The Std.del.time var. parameter has the value 20. The goods receipt took place on Nov. 27;
the statistical delivery date was Nov. 15. There is thus a difference of 12 days.
The system calculates the percentage variance as follows:
    12 / 20 x 100 = 60
If the Std.del.time var. parameter had the value 60, the variance would be 20%
    (12 / 60 x 100 = 20).
If you do not maintain this parameter, the system calculates the delivery time variance via
the firm zone in the case of scheduling agreements, and via the order date and the
statistics-relevant delivery date in the case of purchase orders.
