SIP setup and the 'sip phone' symbol on E71

Hey....
OK SIP users..this question is for you.
Iam running my E71 and have activated and paid for a SIP account (voiptalk) and the setup went well last week, and I have made a few successful SIP calls from the E71.... good stuff !
I am calling landline numbers in the UK using SIP (VoipTalk) through FRING... no problems...
My question is... the little SIP-Phone symbol that was present on the top left of the screen has now disappeared... but I can make SIP calls...
Erm... why has the symbol gone ?
What does that symbol mean in reality, as I can continue to make SIP calls...
Thanks in advance
Harry

Okay thats a question more to the phone's behavior rather then SIP settings.
Looks like your phone keep dropping out symbols.
Have you tried to reboot your phone lately by swithing it off removing the battery and put it back together after a couple of minutes.
Sometimes that solves a lot of issues.
Try it and see if it brings back the symbol.
Mark me a KUDOS if this has helped...

  • Avaya and the SIP redirect server....

We are currently working with a client with an Avaya CM and SES. The issue is that when a call is forwarded to the SIP redirect and the 302 Temporarily Moved message is definitely sent out, but that's the end. We simply get a continuous ringing on our end. The Avaya guy is thinking it has something to do with ip-network-region, trunk group, and/or signalling group. Any thoughts?????

I've installed 8.1.3 FP2 on Linux. It appears to be working now actually. They had Avaya online tweaking the IP destinations, I think it was a case of a less experienced Avaya tech. False alarm....

On the initial set up for apple tv it just sits there trying to set the date and time . it is a wireless setup and the ipaddress and router address is correct . I can't get by this screen. The setting is on automatic and I have picked a city in my time zone yet it still tries to set a time and date but fails.
    thanks

Make sure router is up to date. Try ethernet to rule out any wifi issues. Reboot ATV and router.

Restart with the Option key held down and see if the internal drive appears.
If it does, click on it, press Enter, and then change the setting in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences or the Startup Disk control panel.
If it doesn't, insert a Mac OS install CD or DVD and use the Disk Utility or Disk First Aid to repair the internal drive. If there aren't any problems, install an OS onto it.

  • How do I insert a WAIT or a PAUSE function, followed by a constant string of numbers [international code, country code and the destination phone number].

I'd like to program a LOCAL ACCESS NUMBER, then insert a WAIT or a PAUSE function, followed by a constant string of numbers [international code, country code and the destination phone number]. Dialing the local, US  access number is not an issue, but I can't find any info in the manual on how to insert a WAIT or PAUSE or how to insert the remaining string of international codes and destination phone number. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Could you give a little more detail on your question please.
If you looking to setup a proxy server and port so your printer can connect the printer to HP ePrint, you will often find this setting in the embedded webserver of a printer.  Open up a web browser, and type http://<address of your printer> where the address of your printer is an IP address or hostname (such as http://192.168.2.2).  From the EWS, there will be a configuration section for HP ePrint, and you should find options for setting the proxy host and port in this area.

  • CVP: using the Gatekeeper and the SIP Proxy, why? VXML gateway and the ingress gateway communication?

    Hi All;
I am actually keep asking with my self, why to use gatekeeper or SIP proxy when deploying the CVP solution, why not to use the Call Manager? Is it because that the concept built on SIP and H323 so call manager can not handle these kind of operations as call manager is supporting MGCP?
From the other side, what kind of trunk or protocol of communication method is used between the ingress gateway and the VXML browser?
    Any advise?
    Regards
    Bilal

The main reason is not all who deployed ISN/CVP in the past use Call Manager as the PBX.
CVP is a powerful solution that covers many deployment scenarios. Its ability to integrate with legacy switches has been very important in the past, and although as we move forward, these types of deployments will probably become fewer, the independence of CVP on Call Manager remains a cornerstone of the design.
I'm glad it was built that way. Look at some of the other deployment models (like Call Director) in the CVP Guide.
It's not because Call Manager supports MGCP - you don't need to have any MGCP gateways in your Call Manager deployment. You could have all H.323 gateways and manage the dial plan on the gateways with a gatekeeper. Or use SIP.
The ingress gateway does not talk to the VXML server - the VXML gateway does.
In a branch office design, these are one and the same; but that's not the fundamental architecture. The IOS on the VXML gateway runs a voice browser (I guess you could call this a VXML browser). It uses HTTP to send and receive information (VXML documents) from the VXML server - whether this be the CVP Call Server or an external VXML server (like what was brought in-house with the Audium acqusition - the Cisco CVP VXML Server).

  • I am unable to restore from iCloud backup because the new phone has iOS 8.1.2 and the old phone has iOS 8.2? Any help.

I Have just bought an iPhone 6 and want to restore my iPhone 4s via iCloud backup to the new iPhone 6. The setup of the iPhone 6 halted because according to the new phone it has iOS 8.1.2 whereas the backups were stored using iOS 8.2 following my updating of the iPhone 4S recently. How do I jump through this hoop? How do I update the new phone to iOS 8.2 without serring it up first? Anyone, please help?

Update the new phone to the same version that has been used to create the backup. In your case, the new device has to run 8.2 to be able to use the backup made with the other device.
Setting it back to factory settings will install the newest version and after that you can use the backup made under 8.2

  • How do I get my new iphone restored with my old backup? my old iphone had ios5 and the replacement phone i got has ios4 and it wont let me backup my phone because it doesnt have ios4... i cant get ios5 without restoring my iphone and backing it uo

Basically, i need all my old stuff from my iphone 4 with ios5 onto my new iphone 4.  The new phone i received only had ios4. I went to get all my contacts and backup from my old phone onto my new phone and it wont let me because my new phone is only ios4 and my backup from my old phone was in ios5.  I cant get ios5 on my phone without creating a new backup of my new phone, which has nothing on it.  If i restore it as a new phone and backup virtually nothing from my new phone, will that get rid of all my old backup stuff from my old iphone?

Bottom line is you CANNOT restore to a phone from a backup that has a more recent iOS which is what you're trying to do.  Just can't be done.

  • Record Agent Greeting and the DTMF Phone Pad

    Strange behaviour here.
If I use a 7960 phone and press the icon to record an agent greeting, the Phone Pad pops up and I can press the buttons to navigate the menus. I can also use the hard phone. Of course, this phone has no BIB, so I connected another couple of phones.
If I use a 7961 phone, pressing the keys on the Phone Pad does nothing - but I can use the hard phone. That''s strange.
If I use a 7971, pressing the keys on the Phone Pad does nothing and neither does pressing the keys on the IP phone!!! I created a similar app outside of the Recording process and attached it to a Route Point and get the same behaviour. Must be a phone setting that is not allowing DTMF.
    Regards,
    Geoff

please share CVP and VXML application logs, but i think you must place agent greeting type variable in recording script. after CED just set greeting type.

  • Plorking and the I-Phone

I would be interested to hear how people are finding the I-phone's functionality as a means to maximise plorking and minimise working?

Apologies squigles - gen y lingo. Plorking refers to the fusion of work and play. The term is used to refer to two main types of scenarios being: doing what we enjoy as a means to earning a living (eg professional surfer) and (ii) importing aspects of fun into what we are actually stuck doing (eg flexible working options ie - in this case working from out of the office).
I guess I wnated to know how well people consider the i-phone provides for this??

  • My iphone was working normally ando today...it turned off and....i'm trying to turn on...buy is not working...and the cell phone is hot hot hot...someone can help me please??

The recovery mode sound like your best option and unfortunatly everything will be lost unless you did a back up of your device recently make sure you have a computer running itunes 11.1.1 plug in the usb to the computer and after that power your device off by holding the sleep/ wake button until it says slide to power off and then slide to power off after that press and hold the home button while holding the home button connect your device to the computer continue to hold the home button until connect to itunes shows on the phone. on the computer it will say itunes has reconized a device in recovery mode just click through the menu to get your device to back to new
